GrowGurt day 6 was first feeding, media finally started to dry out enough. Started in coco but too wet so feeding was delayed significantly. the 1st set of leaves fully in place on day 7, second set not yet visible. watering wasn't super precise, I did maybe 5 20ml syringe applications of (growers recharge, canna A, and canna B)

GrowGurt week 2 brings a bit more growth. potentially finally taking off. post day 10 saw a lot of development on our second set of true leaves. still sticking to a .6 EC feed for now. Started to see a lot of root development, that's my guess as to why too growth remained stalled for a few days. I also lowered the light a little bit since her development seemed to me to be very sluggish. so we dropped another 4in on the light just to see if she's okay with a bit more juice. leaves to me look very healthy and happy, no burning, or signs of any deficiencies. So far for my first grow I'm very happy with her development, and I'm very pleased by the Brother's Grimm genetic.

GrowGurt free from the confines of the McDonald's cup! I had to re-home her into the 5 gal pot, the starting cup was too narrow and the coco actually compacted from the tight conical gravity. the roots became sluggish and I felt that it was better off in a pot that's easier to traverse. when transplanting I sprinkled some growers recharge onto the "root ball" and dusted the transplant hole as well. in the new home I watered at first cautiously in a ring around about 4 inches out. after 3 days of that I felt I need to experience over watering if I'm ever going to know what's too much in coco. so I watered her 1 gallon of a .8 EC mixture I got about a quarter of a gallon of run off. this week she's taken 3 gallons. expecting week 4 to be faster growth or a extension of my stunting because of my watering inaccuracies. we live and learn though so it's only a matter of time until I get a rhythm going. mostly happy about consistency of my input quality and at least the overall look of the plant. I do think some of the tolerance to mistakes is down to these solid genetics. will note day 22 is not looking too thrilled about another watering so I think we're pulling off for a few days and waiting for her to speak to me.

GrowGurt my journey of trying to dial in watering on this big ol pot continues! I'm really realizing why people transplant so much. the pot weight refuses to change but the plant certainly responds well to watering the thing I'm learning tho is that in such a big pot with a small root system I really have to just watch the leaf posture more than anything now. managing a saturated bottom of old feed is frustrating and anxiety inducing. I left her to dry back a bit over 2 days and by the end of day 2 the tips on my new growth started to come in a bit more of a pale yellowish green. not the norm for how the new growth has been coming on. the tiniest tips or the new growth got a bit burned. this led me to believe that not watering for 2 days maybe led to the roots pulling from the old saturated bottom of the pot. The real issue I think here is that that old feed in the bottom because of my cal mag agent is rising in pH just like it does in my feed reservoir. so the plant ran out of feed up top and started to dip into the big mass of unused old feed and it's all alkaline and nasty in there. I am going to try and be further between waterings maybe 2 days between so I can try and keep flushing out the base of the pot. I also still don't know why I'm getting interveinal chlorosis. my guess is that I'm dealing with too much water but I'm not sure what I'm to do. you let it kind of dry out and BOOM salt build up. you try and flush it out BOOM no oxygen oversaturated root rot. feels like damned if I do damned if I don't right now. I pulled the lights up a bit to hopefully give her a moment to take her time recovering. for 28 days in and she's still alive and at least stacking on new growth and more nodes, so I'll take that as a win. I'm really crossing my fingers that these roots find the will to occupy more of this pot. I NEED it to start drinking more so I can be sure of what my inputs are again. feels like a bunch of black magic mojo going on at the base of this pot and I'm afraid it's BAD mojo not the good kind. feel free to comment any questions or advice as I'm open to all of it. preferably if you have experience with coco and maybe you run autos in coco than you'd be a big help on how TF I'm supposed to manage 5 gal of coco with a smaller plant. especially when you already made the uh oh oops decision of saturating the whole pot with feed. ya I did that on accident, people said just give her lots of water cause coco. definitely not the best advice.

GrowGurt week 5 saw a significant dry back. a springtail population had exploded in my substrate which told me that I was keeping things way too wet. growth still seems steady not exactly explosive but quite steady. end of week 5 I made a big mistake accidentally mixing 10ml per gal of cal mag agent instead of the requested 5ml. hoping that I don't experience a lock out and that my plant can handle the excess salts. noticed since week 3 chlorosis likely from magnesium being transported from lower leaves to new growth. I felt like that was really not sustainable for the plant as it tries to really grow. so I tried to take my 1.5ml cal mag to the proper dose just misread what that proper dose was. this watering I imagine will take 3 or 4 days to go through so I'll be mixing a proper dosed feed for subsequent feedings. noticed a tiny bit of tip burn but newest growth on the main non topped stem looks super healthy and a bit more green than I'm used to.

GrowGurt Hey, hello, hi how are ya? I'm here to update the plants progress. she is thriving and stacking on growth well! still have not topped her yet or done any training. since this is my first grow I'm really mostly just watching the plant grow and observing the structure and how new growth comes in. I've also spent a good 5 weeks learning how to water in coco. and am sure 90% of my tip burn is actually over watering not any excess salt build up like I had thought. On the subject of high salt content this genetic (maybe marijuana in general) didn't bat an eye at my accidental double cal mag doseage. I was sure she would have hated me for it but she ate it up and so far the recent growth from last week has not started to show any signs of interveinal lighting I believe it's chlorosis I was seeing and you can still see in my bottom most fan leaves. I'll be targeting the proper cal mag dose from now on, and I will fill the .6EC gap with a bit more A and B since I'm behind on CANNAs recommended feeding amount. plan is to top beginning of week 7 maybe a few hours after she's got a good watering. I'm hoping in another 2 weeks I can flower her out. excited to continue the journey, she's already smelling quite veggie like right now so I hope I have a really loud girl on my hands! thanks for tuning in and by all means leave a comment any advice or suggestions are always welcome! just nothing too crazy it is my first grow so don't tell me to manifold it or something idk lol

GrowGurt now that waterings have become more stable and understood I decided it was time to train the plant a bit and open up her structure. so I topped her, to be safe I topped above the 6th node. tied down all of the branches and did a minor defoliation.

GrowGurt time for a flower flip, she's taking up most of the 2x2 footprint so it's time to grow vertical for a change. on a 12 12 light now. lung room temps came down 1 or 2 degrees now just to help with RH control. it's hot hot hot here right now and running my apartment at 78F hasn't been the best. save a lot on my energy bill tho! trying to now be MORE aggressive with my feeding, going to give her 2 gal a day. all gas no brakes hoping she takes off now!

GrowGurt the stretch is REAL! transpiration is NO joke either! keeping this humidity in check is a challenge, going to keep her leaves on till the end of week 3 flower! I've noticed that leaving new tops covered by leaves is speeding up their stretch so I'll let these supporting branches try and get a fair shot at reaching the light. hopefully when the leaves are removed our RH goes down a lot more, but I might need to get a dehumidifier for the lung room worst case. the centeral air is not lower in the RH as much as I thought.

GrowGurt came through and did a big defoliation. left a lot of the new interior branches hoping that they will reach the canopy. leaving a bigger leaf skirt around the bottom to try and keep some energy production around. unsure how much plant material I should be removing.

GrowGurt did a very heavy defoliation. I should probably watch some cannabis time lapses on flower cause I definitely under defoliated last week. then had to come back around and do even more defoliation and ripping off forming buds from the lower canopy. I stressed her out a lot, so I'm seeing a lot of unusual growth popping up. lots of nugs forming on my leaves which is cool but I'm not sure how viable that is and how much they're gonna bulk up. worst news was I ended up removing what appeared to be a male pollen sack BUT I can't be for sure and I'm more inclined to believe it was just an oddly placed bud from her. was pointed downward, bigger, more lime green thin petal like exterior with some kind of white powder inside I fear might have been the early forming of pollen. like I've said I stressed her out more than I should have. I ended up with 2 awkward defoliation runs and she didn't like that. clearly she felt like she was going to die an early death or something. I have faith in Brother's Grimm that I don't have a herm but as the weeks go on we will know for sure. from now on I'm checking every node with each watering and I will hopefully not be removing anymore plant material from her.
