Hello all, this is going to be an outdoor grow in a small quasi greenhouse. This is a 4x4x4.5 ft (L,W,H) structure with ventilation at the bottom and top. I filled the box with 300+ litres of promix, soil, and compost. We get 15-16 daylight hours with daytime temperatures between 15-25 Celsius during the growth period.

All four seedlings successfully germinated and I now have them transferred into Jiffy peat pots for the remainder of the indoor and hardening period. I will be transplanting to the green house by 22 or 29 June. I have the plants under 115W CFL and in a quasi space bucket set up (also used for my indoor grow last winter). Temps fluctuate between 22 and 26 most days, but may be exceeding 28 Celsius when sunny days heat up the house. The thermometer on the floor hit almost 30 one day, which means the plants them selves may be experiencing over 30 Celsius for short periods on very sunny days. Hoping to get them outside sooner than later and will have to ensure there is minimal shock when going from 24+ daytime temps indoors to 18-22 Celsius outdoors.

Things are going well in week three. The plants were outside for 4-6 hours on Monday and Tuesday and 16 hours on Wednesday and Thursday. They seem to be responding well and have started to grow fairly fast. Nightime temperatures are still around 10 Celsius, so it may be a week or more before they can move to the green house permanently. The largest plant has a slight smell already, which seems to be happening much earlier than my indoor grow last winter. I gave the seedlings a shot of very diluted 12-4-8 to get the vegetative stage moving along.

Had a real cold spell and had to keep plants indoors for a few days. Started hardening them off again on day 21. I think they are making the permanent move to the greenhouse on day 23 or 24. The smell is getting stronger and they seem to be doing well. Hopefully night time temps don't shock them too much. I may have started my seeds a week or so too early given the very cool temps this spring. The plants seem undersized given their age and I hope they take off when I move them outside. Any thoughts on their size given their age?

This week started off bad with more cold weather, but was followed up by a couple days with temps around 20-26 Celsius. I added some lights to help keep temps above 15 Celsius during the cold spell. I water once or twice a week depending on how dry the soil gets in the green house. I water with 4 litre of 12-4-8 once a week for each plant and will be switching to 15-30-30 for the flowering phase. The daytime humidity is 30-60% and nightime humidity is around 60-80% daytime temps in the greenhouse are 20-26 most of the time but reached 28-30 Celsius one day. I will be waiting an extra week or two when I start my seeds next year. I managed to get 5cm growth over the last two days, but I am approaching the flowering stretching phase and my plants are quite small. Fun times. Live and learn as they say.

This was a fairly good week. Temperatures and RH have remained mostly within an acceptable range for vegetative growth. Daytime temps have been between 20-29 Celsius, excluding one day that was between 17-20. RH typically starts off around 60-70% in the morning and drops to 30-40% during the afternoon. RH typically ranges between 60-80% at night. I averaged 3.0 cm a day over the last week, with days 40 and 41 hitting 4cm a day. The secondary branches appeared early this week and started to really take off the last few days. The plants are starting to fill in a bit, which is nice. Not sure if I am exhibiting a typical phenotype for this strain or is it supposed to be more bushy due to the heavier indica genes. The early girl sprouted after four days and has taken on a more stretched appearance while the twins sprouted on day 7 and have taken a little more of a bushy look. The runt gets no camera love, as it sprouted on day 8 and has been growing at a very disappointing rate.

Fairly good week. Some damage to the leaves by possible pest. Added blackstrap molasses and switched to a 15-30-30 nutrient at 1/2 strength. The plants almost doubled in size, with the early girl going from 44 to 80cm. Can't wait to see what I pull of these girls.

Well, I had some problems. See deformed leaves in pictures. After watching and flushing, I think I had a pH inbalance or toxic salt build up as the leaves are starting to come around. Maybe a zinc deficiency leading to new leaves being deformed. Fun stuff. Still grew like crazy and the Twins hit 73cm this week and the Early Girl hit 112cm today. What a monster and won't stop growing and main cola has not even fully started flowering. Not sure why, but I will live with it. Lots of time left on the growing season. One of the Twins is in full flower now. All pictures this week are 55 days after seeds planted.

Grow Questions
CannaTrope
CannaTropestarted grow question 6 years ago
Hey experts, I had some issues in week 7/8. See week 8 pics for additional clarification. Tri-lobbed leaves. Is this ruderalis genetics or am I experiencing re-veg due to stress? Deformed new growth, which is stunted and curled. Is this zinc issue due to pH or toxic salt buildup?

@cannabistrope Hi mate I cant see any sign of ph fluctuations or salt build up which would usually show up as burnt leaf tips So that leaves zinc deficiency or more likely the mutation So i will put a link in I used when I got a mutant plant hope it helps and Best of luck https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=2&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwjm7f-77djjAhWD73MBHb_mBsAQFjABegQIAhAB&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.royalqueenseeds.com%2Fblog-the-most-common-cannabis-mutations-n727&usg=AOvVaw2H1HF4YZa8qGYQhA_7oCk_

This week has gone great. The new growth seems to be recovering and taking on the typical leaf and bud morphology. The larger plant has exceeded 130cm and started flowering. The larger plant is a full week behind in flowering compared to the two smaller plants. The smaller plants are starting to fill in with buds, sugar leaves, and trichomes. I have been dialing back the nitrogen since flowering started but I fear I may have too much N as I approach the last few weeks. Trying to flush soil once a week to remove any residual N from the soil and fertilize lightly to keep N low. All pictures are day 62.

Another good week. One plant is really filling in while the slower plant is a week behind but starting to fill in as well. The issues from previous weeks seem to be preventing the calyx from stacking on the third plant. The calyx that are there are fatting up but no new ones seem to be growing or stacking. A little dissappointed, as yields will be negligible for this plant if nothing changes and I had to sacrifice a genetic runt already. So 2 of 4 plants might be okay in the end. I have been dialing back the nutrients and there seems to be a slight yellowing of the leaves, which at least lets me know I am not over doing it. I bought a 30x and 60x scope. The trichomes seem mostly clear and opaque so I should have 1-2 weeks left before harvest. All pictures are day 68

I was away this week, but things look great. The two smaller plants are frosty and one is filling in nicely. I fertilized the two small plants for the last time before I left and now I am going to flush for this and maybe next week. Trichomes will tell. The larger plant will get nutes for one more week and then one or two weeks of flushing. The smell is nice and strong. I am getting the berry smell and maybe some cheese smell now. All pictures are day 77 A caterpillar is ravaging one plant. Jerk

Well, things are not so good this week. One of the 70ish cm plants got bud rot on the main cola. I culled it and tried to salvage buds that were not infected. The trichomes on the larger plant are clear and cloudy. No amber, so another 2-3 weeks for sure. Day and night humidity is above 50% most days so I am likely to get bud rot. I removed glass on greenhouse and trimmed some fan leaves to increase air flow. Let's hope I can get through this without further problems.

Growing outdoors comes with some difficulties. Buds were small and loose. Needed more light and lower humidity. One plant produced almost 70g and the others were shaded by this beast and produced much less.

Fucking mold and bud rot as I approached harvest and fucking mold while I dried. Threw what I could salvage in ethanol to make a resin. Have yet to try it. I saved 4 grams to smoke. Will try and update the taste and effects as needed.

@CannaTrope Hi mate I just popped in an answer for your grow question Hope it helps

@CannaTrope, could be a result of unstable genetics who knows hope I was able to provide the answer to your question

@DILLIGAF, Thanks. Was hoping it was something I could try to control, but a mutation is out of my control. Hope I still get okay yeilds. I tried to read up on mutations for this @dinafem strain but had little success.

Good stuff bud... I’m gonna harvest this week.. abit early but I have no choice .. Do these guys need 24 hrs of darkness before chopping?

Kostecscommented6 years ago
@CannaTrope, thanks again for the reply! I’m gonna do my best! I will go 24 hours in the dark the night before .. Then I will chop down... Can’t wait to share the results... look for them to come Thursday evening.

CannaTropecommented6 years ago
@Kostecs, hey there. I never did 24-48hrs of darkness before harvest but I know some people swear by it. I dried and cured in the dark, so I am not sure if it serves a similar purpose. Looking forward to the yields and your final thoughs on it all.

@CRiSPrGrow, Thanks. I will see if I can get some measurements. Might be difficult to get soil pH for root ball. I will try something. My tap water was fine for the winter grow but who knows, maybe something changed with the town water supply. Or the roots could be reaching unworked compost that I buried at the bottom of the box.
CRiSPrGrow
CRiSPrGrowcommented6 years ago
@CannaTrope, would be great to get pH measurements since you make reference to them, but it looks like a root problem that's causing the curling

Are you kidding me. Daytime temps of 10-13 Celsius for three days and night temps of 8-10 Celsius. I set up a red heat lamp for nights and added a flood light in the green house for the cool days. Keeping it above 15 is the best I can hope for right now.

@Kostecs, I had an accident with a light one day and the nute burn was when they were in the peat pots before transplanting. Only using nutes once a week and at a lower concentration than recommendations on the bottle. The soil is mostly promix with some organic compost and topsoil

Kostecscommented6 years ago
@CannaTrope, looks like you may have some nutrient burn. what type of soil are you working with and whats your nutrient feeding schedule?

They look lovely bro! Next time just plant the seeds directly into their final home. Apparently autos don’t like the transfers and they can get stressed out . That being said my little ladies took a pounding from Mother Nature and bounced back.
CannaTrope
CannaTropecommented6 years ago
@Kostecs, Thanks. I know they are on the smallish side but given the summer we are having I can't complain too much. Given the greenhouse set up I had to do a transplant but I did not disturbe the soil so hoping the impact was minimal. I just cut the sides off the peat pot and dropped the ladies into the ground.

@Kostecs, I hope so. We have some nice weather this week so I am crossing my fingers that I can get to at least the 60-70cm mark for these gals before they finish their veg to flower stretch.
