TheCalyxLaboratory Germination Week: The Gassy One ๐โฝ
The Calyx Laboratory is officially back with a new project! This time, weโre popping "The Gassy One" from the legendary Super Sativa Seed Club. Known for its intense fuel-diesel aroma and heavy-hitting sativa-hybrid effects, Iโm excited to see what this one brings to the table.
The Plan:
For this run, Iโm moving away from soil and going full performance:
โข System: AutoPot System for consistent irrigation.
โข Medium: 50/50 Coco-Perlite mix for maximum aeration.
โข Nutrients: Switching to the Athena blended line to keep those mineral levels precision-tuned.
โข Oxygen: AirDomes are ready to pump that root zone with O2!
Current Status:
Great news from the lab: Both seeds have successfully germinated! They are looking incredibly strong and healthy right out of the gate. With the taproots established and the vigor looking on point, we are officially moving from the germination phase into the start of this gassy journey.
Everything is sanitized, the environment is dialed in, and the girls are ready to perform.
Stay tuned for updates as we kick off this high-performance grow. ๐๐

TheCalyxLaboratory Week 1: Launching The Gassy One ๐ฑ
The next generation has officially entered the lab. The Gassy One seedlings germinated beautifully and are showing excellent vitality right from the start. After a brief, accidental 24-hour light sprint, the schedule is now firmly locked into our standard 18/6 rhythm. The young plants handled the extra energy footprint perfectlyโtheir color is a lush, healthy green, and the leaves are praying straight up. ๐
๐ Lab Data & Inputs:
Medium: Coco / Perlite Mix (Solo Cups) ๐ฅฅ
Lighting: 18/6 Cycle โ๏ธ
Nutrients & Additives: @athena.ag (Grow A+B, CalMag & Cleanse)
pH Value: 5.8 ๐ฏ (Optimal sweet spot for nutrient uptake in coco)
EC Value: 0.6 โก (Gentle and precise for the young root systems)
๐ Laboratory Observations:
The seedlings are developing with impressive uniformity. By maintaining a precise pH of 5.8 and a moderate EC of 0.6, we ensure that the delicate roots in the solo cups are perfectly nourished without any osmotic stress. The exact combination of Athena Grow A+B for the vegetative foundation, a balanced dose of CalMag, and Cleanse to keep the medium pristine ensures a flawless, clean start. The foundation for a healthy, massive root network has been laid. Growth is officially picking up speed. ๐

TheCalyxLaboratory The Gassy One - End of Week 2 ๐ฟ
A Smooth Transition for the Gassy Gal! ๐๐ฑ
This week marks the end of Week 2 for 'The Gassy One', and things are progressing beautifully! โจ Hereโs a quick rundown of how we wrapped up the week and set the stage for explosive growth. ๐ฅ
Nutrient Management (Week 2): Throughout the week, we maintained a steady feeding regimen. Our nutrient solution was mixed to a consistent EC of 1.0, with the pH held perfectly stable at 5.8. ๐ง This kept the plant happy and healthy. As we moved closer to the end of the week, 'The Gassy One' began to show minor signs of hunger, indicated by a slightly paler shade of greenโwhich was our cue to prepare for the next phase! ๐ฝ๏ธ
The Big Move (Today): ๐ก To maximize her potential, we executed a successful transplant! Today, 'The Gassy One' found her final home in a spacious 7.5-liter AutoPot system. The original root system was dense and robust (the root picture is an absolute classic! ๐ฎ๐ช), filling the starter cup and clearly screaming for more room to roam. The transplant was seamless, and she seems already at ease in her new environment. ๐ฐโก
Post-Transplant Care: ๐ฟ Immediately following the transplant, we administered a hearty watering-in nutrient solution. Taking her obvious hunger cues and that massive, healthy root ball into account, we dialed this initial feeding up to a stouter EC of 1.4! ๐ฅ This generous dose of nutrients, coupled with the ample rooting space, provides 'The Gassy One' with the ultimate fuel she needs to aggressively explore her new medium and bounce back from any transplant stress with pure vigor! ๐๐
Environment: โ๏ธ The plant is now basking under the brand new Mars Hydro FC 3000 EVO, which is providing a perfect light intensity of 300 PPFD (at about 50 cm distance, dimmed). ๐ก This ensures optimal light delivery without overwhelming her at this stage. Temperature and humidity levels remain absolutely spot on! ๐ก๏ธโ๏ธ
With the root system poised to conquer the AutoPot and a heavy meal to fuel her, we are expecting some serious vegetative growth over the next few days! ๐ The AirDome system will be activated in about a week, which will surely bring some real fireworks! ๐ Stay tuned for more updates! ๐ฌ๐ฟ

TheCalyxLaboratory Weekly Grow Log: "The Gassy One" (Phases & Progress) ๐โก
This week was an absolute milestone for "The Gassy One"! ๐ The plants have officially settled into their new home and are ready to rock. We had a tiny bit of drama after the transplant, but the mรคdels handled it like absolute champs and are now showing excellent turgor and some massive, vibrant green leaves! ๐ฟ๐ช
Key Actions & Parameter Updates: ๐ ๏ธ๐
1 Manual Feeding & CalMag Recovery: ๐ง?
Action: Done right once by hand to fully saturate the coco and ensure the roots get exactly what they need.
The Hiccup: Noticed a slight CalMag deficiency right after the transplant ๐ก๏ธ, but fixed it immediately with a clean feed.
Parameters: Feed EC: 1.3 | pH: 5.8 | Drain: ~10% ๐
Observation: The 10% drain confirmed the medium chemistry is beautifully balanced now, and the deficiency is fully locked down! ๐ค
2 Transplant Recovery & Mutant Vibes! ๐ (T+10 Days):
Status: Today marks exactly 10 days post-transplant. The root system has officially conquered the pot! ๐ฅ
Special Lab Note: One of the ladies seems to have a cool slight genetic mutation (panaschiert/variegated style) ๐จ. We are keeping a close eye on this unique look while she continues to push strong new growth! โจ
3 AutoPot & AirDome System: FULLY ACTIVATED! ๐and Action!
Status: As of today, the training wheels are off. The AutoPot valves are open, and the AirDomes are officially buzzing! ๐จ Bottom-feeding is live, and the roots are getting a non-stop oxygen party. This is where the real explosive growth begins! ๐๐ฅ
4 Reservoir Preparation: ๐ฏ
Tank Feed: Filled up the main reservoir with a fresh, juicy mix.
Parameters: Reservoir EC: 1.5 ๐ฅ | pH: 5.8 ๐ฏ
Target: Stepping it up to EC 1.5 to feed that post-transplant hunger and fuel the massive upcoming vegetative explosion.
5 Environmental Optimization: โ๏ธclima
PPFD: The average light intensity across the canopy is dialed in perfectly at 420 mu mol/m^2/s ๐ก.
Status: Absolute sweet spot! Not too intense for our unique mutant lady, but with plenty of horsepower to help the plants process that rich EC 1.5 diet. ๐๏ธ๐จ
Summary Outlook: ๐ฎ๐ฟ
"The Gassy One" is in absolute prime position right now! Roots are fully established, the tank is fresh, and the AirDomes are pumping maximum life into the coco. Get ready for some serious jungle vibes in the tent next week! ๐ด๐๐
Interesting your usage of Athena in this soil mix as you described! I'll actually try the same in some months, but mixing with Organic nutrients (mineral + organic work well for me with Advanced Nutrients)
@GreenEldritchGardens thank you for your comment. I will follow your grow to see the results! The reason i switch to mineral nurtie and coco/perlite/ is that my tank stay clean and the plants will grow faster and bigger in a short time, for maxing out yields and efficiency. The results i saw with athena were insane. Keep following!
