This is my second ever grow. I’m growing 2 plants (1 amnesia haze, 1 Lambs Breath) under 2 T5 bulb sets= 8800 lumen and 2 65K white light grow bulbs. I just threw an emergency shelter blanket over it a few days ago. This is a real budget grow 😂 I germinated seeds and planted once tap root formed each in a 5 gallon bucket filled with Promix BX. I watered the mix the day before with water somewhere around pH 5.5. My test strips only go to 6.2 as they are for pool maintenance. The water here is hard and alkaline. Im using food grade citric acid as a pH down. I forget which seedling is which strain.

Feeling pretty good about this crop. I've noticed that these plants are definitely a lot bigger than the plants I had 1 year ago at this phase. So that's exciting. Took lots of pictures, its always exciting when they first start growing. No nutes, still just watering with watered pH'd to 5.5 - 6. I'm thinking about getting real nutes this year. The powder fertilizer I bought last year has become a rock. I see now why liquid nutes are a better option.

I ended up ordering the Base Trio from General Hydroponics this week, as well as Cal Mag. After watching a few youtube videos on autos I decided on this line. It's easy to use. I like that you can tell that they go together. There's a few other brands that have pretty much the same thing going, but the packaging doesn't match... and it makes me wonder, as a newbie to this experience, if they do go together, or if I'd just be mixing and matching random micros/grow/bloom nutes from the same brand, and leave me wondering if I'm using them properly. Gen. Hydro is just easier to follow and get my head around. I still haven't received my Cal Mag, I went with the Sensi Cal Mag, it's ratio is 4:0:0. Another Cal Mag I noticed being used a lot has a ratio of 2:0:0. One fo the youtube growers said that its hard to get nute burn from Calmag, or that its hard to over do it, so i decided to go with what seems to be the stronger one. Hope it arrives soon!

The plants are growing so fast its hard to keep up with it. I think some leaves are burnt from being too close to the 65K grow bulbs. I put some more time into LST, and shifted the buckets around to dispense light the best. Still using General Hydro trio, and added Sensi cal mag, as it finally arrived 1/2 through the week

I cut off fan leaves and tried to groom to only cut out leaves that were blocking buds. This made me very nervous, but I decided to try it anyways. It's kind of addicting too, but I made sure to stop before I cut off too many leaves. I also removed min. minor buds starting near the base of the stem. I adjusted the LST wires to bend branches that were sticking out higher, to try and maintain an even canopy. The amnesia haze is looking soooo good. Nice big pistols forming. I didn't take any pics of the Lambs breath, i guess it wasn't as impressive yet.

This is my first time trying out LST and defoliating. I started slowly about a week ago, and worked on tLST every few days as they've entered the explosive growth stage. The Amnesia haze seems to handle LST and defoliation well, and is still growing strong. However, the Lambs Breath does not seem to respond well to LST and defoliating. It’s branches are very long, so LST May have min effect and the defoliation seems to have stunted the growth as well. Its my first time growing this strain, so only harvest time will tell if LST/Defoliating was detrimental to the grow. My first grow I yeilded about 2.5oz between two Amnesia Haze plants. I was not using nutrients, other than a run of the mill powder fert. i picked up from a local nursery 1/2 way through the grow. I did not have adequate lumens at the start either. I was also not monitoring the pH level of my water. I started using General Hydroponics base trio + Cal Mag between weeks 2-3 in this grow, which is a brand a lot of experienced growers recommend. I've also been monitoring the pH level, and I will be adding KoolBloom to the nute line up next watering. I water every other day, typically, I split 1 gallon between the 2 plants. Although, I may start watering more frequently, since it seems there is less and less run off sitting at the bottom of the crate.

I started to get a little bit concerned for the Lambs Breath. Its like it just stopped growing. The Amnesia Haze still looks vibrant and healthy and buds getting bigger. I finally got a pH meter, and I now have KoolBloom (bloom booster). The canopies are fairly even, although the Lambs Breath hasn't responded as well to LST and its been harder to hold her down, she keeps stretching straight up. The branches are so long and skinny, its hard to make the canopy even without stressing/bending the plant and not damaging it. I've also noted that the plant surface area has increased from evening out the canopy, and my light set up isn't equipped to handle such a large spread. Its been so cloudy and rainy this spring I've only taken them out into natural sun for 1 day. Im not sure if its the strain, or my technique, that has lead the Lambs Breath to respond so poorly to LST. When I do it next time I definitely have a better idea of how to do it. So I brought my Lamb's Bread/Breath upstairs today to get a good look at it and see what I could do. It looks like its starting to recover and the buds are growing nicely. I adjusted the LST wires, and took a few pics. Hopefully it's just a slower strain than Amnesia Haze and the long skinny branches are part of her genome, and in the end I will end up with some super dank buds.

I've been getting the plants out into very bright natural sunlight, and cutting the lights during the day, finally! The Lambs Breath looks like she is ready for action, and the Amnesia Haze is looking so good. Stout, but good. I'm trying to avoid removing leaves at this point, and tucking the bigger leaves that are blocking the light downwards more so now. I'll have to start watering them more frequently now that they're getting bigger and drinking more water, plus going outside will dry them out faster. I've also been thinking about upping my nutes. But I think its best to just stay the course so that I will be able to determine how well the techniques I'm already doing work.

My little grow room aka the basement powder room had a new exhaust fan installed last week. It can fully exhaust and circulate an entire room in a just a few minutes. It has eliminated any smell from wafting through the home. Thats always nice for those who aren't into smelling dank week all the time. I can't believe its week 9 already, will be harvesting these babies soon. I've really upped the bloombooster for t his week. Fingers crossed for some dense sticky buds!

Buds are starting to bulk up. Def. more crystals on these ones than my first grow. The lamb's breath is really starting to catch up, she may end up with more bud than the amnesia haze. Harvest is only a couple weeks away! Will start flushing next week.

The flushing has begun. I can't believe Im almost ready to harvest these plants. Ive been taking the Amnesia Haze plant outside on nice hot sunny days, which is almost every day. I had to stop taking the Lambs Breath outside. She is so spread out that I damaged a nice bud branch moving her through door ways :( This plant is massive, but the bud sites are small. The buds that are growing look like great quality though. They have so many trichomes growing that i can barely tell, with loupes, if they've started to cloud up yet. Theres so many and they're packed on. So thats cool. The Amnesia Haze buds look amazing too. So beefy,

I got my plants ready for harvest, but not soon enough apparently. I researched that defoliation/leaf should be done at the time you start flushing to expose lower buds to direct light. I couldn't figure out why all the IG auto pics I saw they looked trimmed. So I gave both ladies a trim. I also discovered some bud rot on my Amnesia Haze! 😭 I picked it all off. I left the fan off too many times, and now looking back, when I put it outside its in an area with very poor air flow. The branches are stubby and theres bud all down them, so they dank. I can see how moisture would cause rot like that. Lesson learned. The hard way!! Lost a few good grams. I've been thinking a lot about my next grow. Between topping or cleaning up my LST technique and being more stingey about the environment. I'm going to run an 18:6 or 20:4 light schedule next time. So I wont have to feel so bad for running a fan ALL the time. I want to top. But the lambs breath worries me with how it responded to defoliation; unless that was completely my fault because I did it too late. Anyways. They are looking sweet as is and we can only go up from here.

I don't think I'm really ready to comment on a lot of sections here. Its just hanging to dry atm. I want to wait 2 weeks from harvest, trim some more, then weigh it. 2 weeks after that when I smoke it I'll be able to comment more on taste and potency. But the amnesia haze I grew last year that I'm smoking now is citrusy, earthy, and kinda dank smelling. The longer its been curing the better of a smoke it is. Tasty. I'm expecting these buds to be an upgrade. They have so many more trichomes than last years. And I won't get to the cream of the crop until this harvest has been curing for months. I cut the Lambs Breath in 2 to hang and dry. I cut the Amnesia Haze into a bunch of different sections to hang.

This plant kept me wondering the whole time. But in the end she grew some really nice looking buds, and I bet if you condense out her long skinny stems to the size of my little beefy amnesia haze plant I'll have just as much bud. I can't wait to give it a proper cure and try it out. I actually ended up doing a fast dry using the paper bag in a hot summer's sun trick. It tasted very chlorophylly but it was a fun high. Excited, energetic, happy. Plant has been drying for 10 days so I smoked some. I was expecting it to taste like garbage, but to my surprise it was actually very nice tasting, even though it was hard to burn and quite sticky. It had a sweet, sugary taste, but the smell of the actual flowers haven't quite come out yet. The room in which it is drying has a high humidity, 70-80%. I've tried doing a lot of different things, but I can't get the humidity down much. I will trim at 2 weeks drying and then weight it. I did give some away already, so I'll have to estimate the total grow when the time comes. Update: Finished trimming and weighing this plant. I am very happy with the results. I ended up with 83.5 grams of nice buds. I've been smoking it a bit, and I love the high. Very mellow, uplifting feeling. Its still a bit harsh, needs to dry/cure longer. Overall I am very happy with this strain. I plan on growing a single plant next time and experimenting with topping. I think this strain is up to the task.
