Harz_Kontrolleur Urban Seedlab Multistrain Run Vol.2
Back at it again. For this new run, I am sticking with genetics from urbanseedlab.com. In my opinion, this breeder is still flying way under the radar. Looking at the flower quality and germination rates shared by growers on Insta, the value you get for their current prices is an absolute steal before they eventually blow up.
Since my tent is still located at my friends' place, things will be a bit different this time. I will have less time to personally manage everything, but I am crossing my fingers that my crew follows instructions better than last run. Honestly, the killer quality of the last harvest did not exactly help their motivation to work hard, they are a bit too relaxed right now. Because of this, updates won't drop strictly every Monday anymore. Instead, expect irregular updates, maybe even twice a week. I am promising myself to take this whole run a lot more easy-going.
The Lineup and Pheno Hunting Goals
I bought 6 packs of Toxilla and Nitro Payton. The Miracle Bang seeds were hooked up as a special bonus in exchange for this diary and Instagram updates.
2x Toxilla (Gorillato x Biohazard Orange)
Target: Hunting for a phenotype with the heavy Gorillato structure paired with those mouth-watering Tropicana terps.
2x Miracle Bang (Cherry Bang Bang x MAC)
Target: Looking for a beautifully reddish phenotype displaying that insane MAC frost and density, packed with Cherry-Cookie terps.
2x Nitro Payton (Gary Payton x The OG #18)
Target: Hoping for pure OG terps on a standard plant structure with massive bag appeal.
Germination and Early Selection
Overall, 17 out of 18 seeds germinated, giving us a solid 94% germination rate. Only a single Nitro Payton did not make it.
I did a very early pre-selection this time based strictly on root health and decent nodal spacing. The rest were discarded, with one exception. One of the Miracle Bangs turned out to be an extreme Indica outlier, super compact with the roundest blade fingers I have ever seen. I could not bring myself to throw her away, so she is currently sitting on the windowsill in a 3.5L pot for observation.
Setup, Substrate and Feeding
Pots: 5-gallon / 19-liter fabric pots.
Drainage: About 2 liters of clay pebbles (Correls) at the bottom of each pot.
Soil Mix: Biobizz Light Mix, roughly 10% Worm Humus and 50g Greenhouse Bio Grow per pot.
Lighting: 2x Mars Hydro FC3000 EVO, currently dimmed to 33% delivering around 350 PPFD to the canopy.
Adlite: The veg phase is currently running without the Deep Blue Adlite. If I do not like the node structure during my next visit, I might turn it on.
Training Plan: Same as last time. Topping after the 4th or maybe 5th node, and completely stripping the lowest pair of nodes.
Water and pH Management
During germination, pH was strictly kept at 5.8. Since then, they have been getting straight tap water. I checked our tap water yesterday and it is sitting a bit high at over pH 8.
Yesterday during transplanting, they got their first good watering with Greenhouse Enhancer, adjusted to a stable pH of 6.5. Moving forward, I will be pre-mixing the water again, adjusting both the magnesium levels and the pH properly.
Let's see what surprises this run has in store for us. Stay tuned.
