## Germination Week | An Offer a Seed Can't Refuse
Hello GrowDiaries family! 👋🌱
Every grow begins with a seed.
But some seeds arrive carrying a little more reputation than others.
And when the name on the package says GodFather OG, well... expectations naturally enter the room before the plant even emerges from the soil. 😄
Before we begin, a small explanation.
With the current GrowDiaries photo limitations, I've decided to document each phenotype in its own dedicated diary. Instead of grouping multiple plants together, every phenotype now receives its own space from seed to harvest.
This allows me to continue documenting every stage of development as thoroughly as possible while selecting the best photographs from each week.
The objective remains exactly the same as always:
To create an honest, educational, and complete record of the grow from seed to harvest while sharing observations, successes, mistakes, and lessons learned along the way.
Today, we begin following GodFather OG Pheno A.
---
## A New Member Joins the Family
Every seed carries potential.
Every cultivar carries history.
And every grow starts with curiosity.
For this run, we're following GodFather OG from Zamnesia Seeds, cultivated under a 12/12 from seed schedule from the very first day of life.
A method that is a little different from what most growers choose, but one that has become part of my own cultivation style over time.
Throughout this diary, I'll explain not only what I'm doing, but also why I'm doing it, allowing anyone interested to follow the process from beginning to end.
For now, our newest family member has officially arrived.
And like any good family, we'll give her the best start we can. 😄
---
## Germination Using the Cannakan System
For germination we used the Cannakan system.
Simple.
Organized.
Reliable.
A bit like having a good consigliere keeping track of everyone's business. 😄
The container is divided into separate chambers, allowing multiple cultivars to be germinated simultaneously while remaining properly labeled and organized.
Each seed was placed inside using only plain water.
No nutrients.
No additives.
No stimulants.
Just water.
Within approximately 24 hours healthy taproots had already emerged and the seeds were ready for the next stage.
Fast.
Clean.
Efficient.
Exactly the way we like to start a new operation.
---
## Why Only Water?
One question that often comes up during germination is:
"Why not feed the seedlings immediately?"
The answer is simple.
The seed already contains everything required for its first stage of development.
Nature already handled the negotiations before we arrived.
Inside that tiny shell are the energy reserves needed to establish roots and begin life.
At this stage, I prefer allowing the seed to do exactly what it was designed to do.
Water is enough.
The objective is not to feed the plant.
The objective is simply to wake it up.
---
## First Experience With Coco Starter Plugs
This run also marks my first experience using coco starter plugs.
The plugs were fully saturated with water and then gently squeezed to remove excess moisture while maintaining a healthy balance between water retention and oxygen availability.
The germinated seeds were carefully inserted into the plugs and placed inside a humidity dome.
The dome remained useful for only a short period.
Within less than 24 hours the seedlings had already emerged and were ready to continue their journey.
At that point, they were transplanted into small containers filled with Plagron Lightmix.
---
## Environment
Environmental conditions remained intentionally simple.
Temperatures around 26–27°C.
Humidity maintained between approximately 65–70% using a Spider Farmer humidifier.
Rather than keeping seedlings inside extremely humid conditions for extended periods, I prefer introducing them relatively early to the environment they will actually experience during growth.
The goal is adaptation.
Not dependence.
Airflow remains extremely gentle at this stage.
Just enough movement to keep fresh air circulating without creating unnecessary stress.
---
## Looking Ahead
So far everything is progressing exactly as hoped.
Fast germination.
Healthy taproots.
Strong emergence.
Healthy color.
Good vigor.
And most importantly:
A strong beginning.
At this stage every phenotype remains a mystery waiting to reveal itself.
And honestly, that's one of the most exciting parts of growing.
No matter how many seeds we start, every new plant arrives carrying a story we haven't read yet.
This is only the first chapter.
And for GodFather OG Pheno A...
the family business is officially underway. 🌱😄
Huge thanks to Zamnesia Seeds for the genetics, Plagron for the substrate and nutrition, Future Of Grow for the lighting, and everyone joining us for another seed-to-harvest adventure.

DogDoctorOfficial Godfather OG by Zamnesia | Pheno A 👑🌱
Vegetative Week 1 | Small Plant, Big Presence
Hello GrowDiaries family! 👋🌱
Welcome back to another week of this 12/12 From Seed adventure.
Today we turn our attention to Godfather OG Pheno A, a young plant that may still be in her first week of life but is already showing plenty of personality.
Like the rest of the garden, she began her journey following the same methodology used throughout this project: direct transplantation into her final container, gentle early feeding, and immediate adaptation to a flowering light schedule under our 12/12 From Seed approach.
While every plant receives identical treatment, genetics always find their own way of expressing themselves—and Godfather OG Pheno A is already beginning to reveal her character.
⸻
A Permanent Home From Day One
Following germination, Godfather OG Pheno A was transplanted directly into her final container filled with Plagron Lightmix.
Because this entire project is being conducted under a 12/12 From Seed methodology, we prefer avoiding additional transplants later in life whenever possible.
This allows the root system to establish itself immediately within its final environment and removes the possibility of future transplant stress during critical developmental stages.
The objective remains simple:
🌱 Healthy root development
🌱 Consistent growth
🌱 Minimal interruptions
🌱 Maximum genetic expression
So far, she appears to be settling in beautifully.
⸻
Early Nutrition Strategy
The first watering consisted only of pH-adjusted water, allowing the seedling to establish naturally during her first days above ground.
By Day 4, we introduced a very gentle feeding program consisting of:
🌱 Terra Grow
🌱 Pure Zym
🌱 Power Roots
🌱 Sugar Royal
At this stage, the goal is not aggressive growth.
Instead, we focus on creating a healthy foundation by encouraging root expansion, microbial activity, and steady development while avoiding unnecessary stress.
A strong beginning often creates a strong finish.
⸻
Environmental Conditions
Conditions remained stable throughout the week:
🌡️ Day Temperature: 27°C
🌙 Night Temperature: 25°C
💧 Relative Humidity: 55%
🌱 Solution Temperature: 21°C
🌱 Substrate Temperature: 21°C
🌿 CO₂: Approximately 600 ppm
Lighting remained around 350 PPFD under a 12/12 light schedule.
Although 350 PPFD may seem relatively high for seedlings, the shorter daily photoperiod means total daily light exposure remains moderate when compared with traditional 18/6 vegetative schedules.
This allows the young plants to adapt early to stronger light intensities while maintaining an appropriate Daily Light Integral (DLI).
⸻
A Compact But Determined Start
One thing that immediately stood out throughout the week was how compact and sturdy this phenotype appeared.
From the first sets of leaves onward, Godfather OG Pheno A displayed a very squat structure with tight node spacing and a sturdy stem.
She may not have been the tallest seedling in the room, but she never looked weak.
Quite the opposite.
Everything about her early growth suggests a plant that is investing heavily in structure before chasing vertical growth.
For an OG lineage, that is often a very welcome sight.
⸻
The Little Freak Factor
Of course, no phenotype hunt would be complete without a little bit of weirdness.
During the week, Pheno A displayed some slightly unusual early leaf development.
Nothing concerning.
Nothing unhealthy.
Just enough variation to remind us that every seed carries its own unique blueprint.
The leaf shape and growth pattern showed a bit of that quirky character we often encounter when growing from seed.
And honestly, those are usually the plants that end up being the most interesting later in life.
⸻
Finishing Week One Strong
By the end of the week, the plant had already begun producing nicely formed three-finger leaves and showed clear signs of healthy progression.
The newer growth appears increasingly structured and symmetrical, while the overall color remains vibrant and healthy.
Root establishment appears successful.
Growth remains steady.
And most importantly, she looks comfortable in her environment.
At this stage, there is very little to complain about.
Only good signs and growing potential.
⸻
Looking Ahead
Week 2 should begin revealing much more about this phenotype.
Will she remain compact and stocky?
Will she suddenly stretch?
Will those early quirky leaf characteristics disappear completely?
For now, all signs point toward a healthy and promising start.
And as always, patience is the grower’s greatest tool.
⸻
Thank You
A huge thank you to Zamnesia for providing the Godfather OG genetics featured in this run.

DogDoctorOfficial Week 2 - Godfather OG (Pheno A) 👑🌱
Hello everyone, and welcome back to another update from the 8×8 Adventure!
For anyone joining us for the first time, this project follows multiple Zamnesia cultivars grown side-by-side under a 12/12-from-seed schedule. Every phenotype receives its own dedicated diary so we can properly document individual development, compare genetic expressions, and follow each plant from seed to harvest.
Rather than grouping multiple plants into a single report, every phenotype gets its own diary. Even sister plants can display different characteristics, growth habits, and personalities, and documenting those differences is one of the most rewarding aspects of this project.
This entire run remains under a 12/12 light cycle from the very beginning. The goal is not maximum vegetative size but rather to explore genetic diversity, flowering behavior, structure, vigor, and phenotype variation throughout the complete life cycle.
⸻
Week 2 Overview
Week 2 has been another exciting chapter inside the 8×8 Adventure.
Across the room, plants continue transitioning from seedling development into active vegetative growth. Root systems are expanding, growth rates are accelerating, and the entire garden is responding positively to the gradual increase in nutrition.
Lighting intensity has now increased to approximately 370 µmol/m²/s across the canopy, providing additional energy while remaining perfectly suited for young plants.
Environmental conditions remained stable throughout the week:
• Light Schedule: 12/12
• Day Temperature: 27°C
• Night Temperature: 25°C
• Relative Humidity: 55%
• Solution Temperature: 20.1°C
• Substrate Temperature: 21°C
• CO₂: Ambient (~600 ppm)
Watering remained measured and deliberate.
Each plant received approximately:
• Day 8 – 250 ml
• Day 11 – 250 ml
Nutrition was gradually increased as plant response remained consistently positive.
Week-ending values:
• EC: 0.9 mS/cm
• pH: 6.0
Current feeding schedule:
• Terra Grow – 1.8 ml/L
• Pure Zym – 1 ml/L
• Power Roots – 1 ml/L
• Sugar Royal – 1 ml/L
The entire room continues displaying healthy color, strong vigor, and excellent development.
⸻
Godfather OG Pheno A
This week belongs to one of the most charming personalities in the entire room.
Godfather OG Pheno A continues growing beautifully and proving that perfection doesn’t always mean absolute symmetry.
One of the early leaves remains slightly smaller than its counterpart, a tiny quirk that immediately gives this plant character.
And honestly?
We love it.
Because despite that little asymmetry, everything else about this plant looks fantastic.
Healthy color.
Strong growth.
Excellent structure.
Beautiful leaf development.
And a steadily increasing growth rate as the root system continues expanding beneath the surface.
Sometimes those small imperfections are exactly what make a phenotype memorable.
⸻
Development Notes
Week 2 showed very healthy progression from start to finish.
The plant has continued building new growth consistently and now carries multiple layers of healthy foliage with excellent color throughout.
The newest growth appears vigorous and clean, while the overall structure remains balanced and attractive.
Five-finger leaves have now firmly entered the scene, marking another important milestone in development.
Every new set of leaves looks stronger than the one before.
The response to increased nutrition has been excellent, and there are no signs that the plant is struggling with the gradual increase in feeding levels.
In fact, she seems to be enjoying every bit of it.
⸻
A Little Bit Funky, A Whole Lot Beautiful
One thing I particularly enjoy about this phenotype is that she already has her own personality.
That slightly smaller leaf could easily be viewed as a flaw.
I don’t see it that way at all.
To me, it’s one of those little details that makes a plant instantly recognizable when walking through the room.
Nature rarely produces identical copies.
And that’s exactly what makes growing from seed so interesting.
Godfather OG Pheno A may have started with a small quirk, but she has transformed that quirk into part of her identity.
The rest of the plant is developing so beautifully that the slight asymmetry simply becomes another chapter in her story.
⸻
Structure and Growth
The overall architecture is becoming increasingly attractive.
The plant is stacking nodes efficiently while maintaining healthy spacing between growth points.
Leaf size continues increasing week after week, creating a fuller appearance and allowing the plant to capture more light with every passing day.
The rich green coloration seen throughout the canopy suggests the roots are happy, the environment is stable, and nutrient uptake is progressing exactly as hoped.
At this stage, there is very little to criticize.
The plant simply looks healthy.
And healthy plants are happy plants.
⸻
Room Life
The room continues running smoothly as environmental conditions remain stable and consistent.
The humidifier continues helping maintain ideal humidity levels for young plants, while airflow and environmental control remain carefully managed throughout the space.
The gradual increase in nutrient strength has been well received by the entire room, and growth rates continue trending upward.
As always, Mr. Baggy remains fully committed to his professional responsibilities.
Current duties include:
• Plant supervision
• Environmental inspection
• Photography assistance
• Quality control management
• Looking adorable while providing minimal actual labor
Performance reviews remain ongoing.
⸻
Looking Ahead
If current trends continue, next week should bring:
• Faster vegetative growth
• Larger five-finger leaf development
• Additional node production
• Increased stem thickness
• More obvious phenotype characteristics
• Continued canopy expansion
I’m especially curious to see how the plant develops over the coming weeks and whether that small asymmetrical leaf remains one of her defining traits or simply becomes an early-life footnote.
Either way, she is building an excellent foundation for the weeks ahead.
⸻
Final Thoughts
Week 2 has been another successful week for Godfather OG Pheno A.
Healthy growth.
Excellent color.
Strong vigor.
Beautiful structure.
And just enough personality to make her stand out from the crowd.
The slightly smaller leaf that first caught our attention is still there, but instead of being a weakness, it has become part of what makes this phenotype unique.
Sometimes perfection isn’t about being identical.
Sometimes perfection is about growing beautifully despite a few quirks.
And this plant is doing exactly that.
A huge thank you to everyone following along, supporting the project, sharing knowledge, and joining the journey.
Special thanks to Zamnesia, Plagron, Future of Grow, and all the partners helping make this adventure possible.
And most importantly, thank you to the community. Your encouragement, ideas, discussions, and enthusiasm continue to make these diaries worthwhile.
Thank you for stopping by, and I’ll see you all next week for another update from the 8×8 Adventure.

DogDoctorOfficial 🌱 Week 3 | Godfather OG – Pheno A | Building the Foundation
Week three marks another exciting step forward for this Godfather OG phenotype. While some of her sisters are stretching with a little more enthusiasm, this lady has chosen a different path. She remains naturally compact, stacking tight internodes while producing broad, healthy foliage and vigorous new growth.
One of the goals of Project Blue is to discover each phenotype’s individual personality, and this plant is already showing exactly that. Rather than reaching for height, she is focusing her energy on building a sturdy framework that should provide an excellent foundation for flowering later on.
The growing environment remains extremely stable, allowing the plants to develop without unnecessary stress. Daytime temperatures averaged around 27°C, dropping to 25°C during the night, while relative humidity stayed close to 55%. Root zone temperatures remained stable at 21°C, nutrient solution temperature at 20°C, with pH carefully maintained at 6.0 and nutrient strength increased slightly to EC 1.3. CO₂ levels averaged approximately 666 ppm, and lighting continued under the 12/12 From Seed schedule, delivering roughly 600–700 PPFD, adjusted according to each plant’s individual height.
Nutrition continues to follow the Plagron Terra program, providing everything needed for healthy vegetative growth. This week’s feeding consisted of:
• Terra Grow — 1.8 ml/L
• Power Roots — 1 ml/L
• Pure Zym — 1 ml/L
• Sugar Royal — 1 ml/L
The gradual increase in EC has been met with an excellent response, with healthy leaf colour, vigorous growth and no signs of nutrient stress.
This week also introduced the first stage of canopy management. Rather than using aggressive training techniques, I simply began gently bending and repositioning a few large fan leaves to expose the developing secondary branches underneath. This subtle approach allows more light to reach future bud sites while letting the plant continue growing naturally with virtually no recovery time.
This Godfather OG appears naturally suited for a bushier architecture, so encouraging those lower branches now should help create a fuller canopy as flowering progresses.
Overall, she continues to look exceptionally healthy, with strong branching, thick stems and lush foliage. She may not be the tallest girl in the room, but she’s quietly building what could become an incredibly productive structure in the weeks ahead.
As always, a huge thank you to Plagron, Zamnesia, GrowDiaries, and everyone following along on this Project Blue journey. Mr. Baggy completed another careful inspection of the canopy and is pleased to report that this queen has officially passed quality control once again.

DogDoctorOfficial 🌱 Godfather OG (Zamnesia) | Pheno A | Week 4
The adventure continues…
Every week this project reminds me why I love growing from seed. Even when plants share the same room, the same nutrients, the same lighting and exactly the same environment, each phenotype writes its own story. That’s exactly what this diary is about.
This is Godfather OG – Pheno A from Zamnesia, grown as part of my 8×8 Adventure, where twelve different genetics are all being cultivated using the 12/12 from seed method. The goal isn’t to chase massive vegetative plants, but to discover each cultivar’s natural expression while keeping everything under identical conditions.
Week 4 has been all about building structure. The roots are now well established, the branches are strengthening, and the plant is beginning to reveal the architecture that will support the coming stretch. Every day she becomes a little easier to read, and so far she’s telling a very promising story.
⸻
🌿 Plant Development
This phenotype has developed into a beautiful, compact plant with excellent vigor. The overall colour is rich and healthy, while the newest growth shows that vibrant lime-green tone typical of fast, actively dividing tissue.
One thing that immediately catches my attention is how symmetrical she is becoming. The internodal spacing remains tight, producing a dense canopy filled with potential flowering sites.
The stem is noticeably thick and sturdy, which is always something I like to see before entering the real flowering stretch. Strong foundations usually lead to strong harvests.
Large fan leaves are doing an incredible job powering photosynthesis while shading portions of the canopy that aren’t yet ready for full exposure.
Overall, she looks calm, healthy and completely comfortable in her environment.
⸻
🌱 Low Stress Training & Leaf Tucking
Training this week remained focused on Low Stress Training (LST).
Instead of removing leaves, I’m continuing to gently reposition branches and tuck larger fan leaves underneath developing shoots. This simple technique allows more light to reach secondary growth without sacrificing valuable solar panels.
The beauty of leaf tucking is that nothing is permanently removed. The plant keeps all of its energy-producing leaves while the lower branches receive enough light to begin competing for canopy space.
Every day the branches become a little more flexible and easier to position. As they continue to harden, they’ll naturally hold their new shape, creating a wider and more even canopy.
It’s a slow process, but one that consistently pays off later in flower.
⸻
💧 Feeding Program
The nutrition remains simple and consistent.
Current feeding:
• Terra Grow — 1.8 ml/L
• Power Roots — 1 ml/L
• Pure Zym — 1 ml/L
• Sugar Royal — 1 ml/L
Solution adjustments:
* pH: 6.1
* EC: 1.35 mS/cm
Nothing dramatic has changed because there simply isn’t any need to fix something that is already working. The plant is responding beautifully, producing vigorous new growth without any signs of nutrient excess or deficiency.
The root zone appears very healthy, allowing the canopy to expand steadily every day.
⸻
🌡️ Environment
The room continues to perform exceptionally well despite the warm weather.
Environmental conditions
• Day temperature: 33°C
• Night temperature: 25°C
• Relative humidity: 63%
• CO₂: 639 ppm
• Solution temperature: 26°C
• Substrate temperature: 21°C
While daytime temperatures are certainly on the higher side, maintaining stable humidity, good airflow and constant irrigation allows the plants to continue growing without showing signs of heat stress.
Healthy roots make an enormous difference during warmer periods, and so far this room is handling those conditions remarkably well.
⸻
👀 Looking Ahead
Over the next week I expect to continue guiding the canopy through gentle LST while allowing the secondary branches to catch up with the main leaders.
If she continues developing at this pace, she should enter the flowering stretch with an even canopy, excellent branch distribution and plenty of future bud sites already exposed to light.
For now, patience remains the best training technique.
⸻
🚀 The 12/12 From Seed Adventure
Growing directly under a 12/12 light schedule from seed continues to be one of the most fascinating experiments I’ve ever undertaken.
Every phenotype responds differently. Some stretch early, others remain compact, while others completely surprise me halfway through the cycle. That’s exactly why I enjoy documenting every single plant individually.
Watching each phenotype express its unique personality under identical conditions teaches me far more than simply chasing yield. Every week brings another lesson, and every diary becomes another chapter in that learning process.
⸻
🙏 Thank You
A huge thank you to everyone following this journey, whether you’ve been here since day one or you’ve just discovered the diary.
Thank you to those who leave kind comments, ask thoughtful questions, share knowledge, and even to the critics who encourage me to keep improving. Every interaction helps make this community stronger.
A special thank you goes to GrowDiaries for providing a platform where growers from around the world can document, compare and learn from one another.
And of course, endless gratitude to the incredible companies helping make this project possible:

DogDoctorOfficial 👑 Godfather OG – Pheno A
Week 5 | The Giant Begins to Wear Her Crown
Welcome back to another chapter of the 8×8 Adventure!
One of my favourite things about documenting every single phenotype individually is watching how differently each plant interprets exactly the same environment.
Same room.
Same lighting.
Same feeding philosophy.
Same genetics.
Yet every plant develops her own personality.
Godfather OG Pheno A has quickly established herself as one of the giants inside the tent, standing proudly above many of her neighbours while beginning the exciting transition into flowering.
She’s becoming impossible to ignore.
⸻
🌱 The Journey So Far
For those discovering this diary for the first time, welcome!
This entire project is being grown using the 12/12 From Seed method.
Rather than extending the vegetative period before changing the light cycle, every plant has received a consistent 12 hours of light and 12 hours of darkness from the very first day of life.
This allows every phenotype to determine its own natural timing.
Instead of deciding when flowering begins…
…the plants decide for themselves.
That is one of the most fascinating parts of this entire experiment.
Although every plant shares the same environment, no two stories have unfolded exactly the same.
⸻
🌸 The Transition Has Begun
This week officially marks what I’m considering Week One of Flower.
She’s living in that beautiful transition where vegetative growth hasn’t completely stopped, but flowering has clearly taken over.
Fresh white pistils are now appearing throughout the canopy, confirming that reproductive growth is well underway.
Those delicate white hairs are the first visible signs of future flowers.
Over the coming weeks they’ll multiply rapidly as each flowering site develops into what we all hope will become dense, resin-covered colas.
It’s one of the most exciting stages of the entire grow.
Every day brings noticeable changes.
⸻
🌿 One of the Giants of the Room
Standing at approximately 75 cm, Godfather OG Pheno A has become one of the tallest plants in this entire project.
Her structure is beautifully balanced.
Strong stems.
Excellent internodal spacing.
Healthy branching.
The Low Stress Training carried out during the previous weeks is now beginning to reveal its purpose.
By gently bending stems and opening the canopy instead of forcing aggressive structural changes, light is reaching more growing tips while the plant continues developing naturally.
Every adjustment made earlier is now beginning to pay dividends.
Sometimes patience truly is the best training technique.
⸻
💧 AutoPot Feeding System
This phenotype is growing in one of my AutoPot systems.
The AutoPot works through a remarkably simple but effective device called the AquaValve.
Rather than operating on timers or pumps, the AquaValve automatically refills the tray only after the plant has consumed the available nutrient solution.
In other words…
The plant decides when she wants another drink.
This creates an incredibly stable root environment while reducing fluctuations in moisture and nutrient availability.
As flowering begins, the feeding program has also evolved to support the transition.
Bloom nutrients have now joined the schedule while maintaining enough vegetative support to fuel the final stretch before the plant focuses entirely on flower production.
⸻
🌡️ Environmental Conditions
The room continues performing exactly as planned.
Current averages include:
• Day temperature: 31.1°C
• Night temperature: 25°C
• Relative humidity: 67%
• Nutrient solution: 21.6°C
• Root zone: 21°C
• CO₂ concentration: 639 ppm
Humidity remains slightly elevated during this stretch phase to support vigorous growth and healthy transpiration.
As flowers begin stacking over the coming weeks, humidity will gradually be reduced to create the ideal environment for dense, healthy blooms.
Maintaining environmental stability is every bit as important as feeding the plants themselves.
Healthy plants are built through consistency.
⸻
📷 This Week’s Gallery
This week’s photographs document her progress from multiple perspectives.
Close-up shots highlight the first pistils emerging across the growing tips.
Side views reveal her impressive vertical growth and balanced branching.
Bird’s-eye views showcase an increasingly even canopy thanks to the weeks of gentle training.
I’ve also included updates from inside the room together with controller readings to continue documenting every aspect of this project as accurately as possible.
Watching the room evolve week after week is becoming just as rewarding as watching the individual plants themselves.
⸻
🔮 Looking Ahead
Over the next week I expect the stretch to continue as flowering becomes fully established.
More white pistils should appear across every branch, and the first true flower clusters will begin forming as the plant shifts more energy toward reproduction.
Training will remain gentle, with only small adjustments made where necessary to maintain an open canopy and maximize light penetration.
The real building phase is only just beginning…
…and I have a feeling this lady has plenty more to show us.
⸻
💚 Thank You
Thank you so much for following another chapter of this 8×8 Adventure.

Week 6 | Wearing the Crown with Confidence
Welcome back to another chapter of the 8×8 Adventure!
There are always a few plants in every grow that naturally draw your attention.
Not because they're demanding it...
But because they quietly command it.
Godfather OG Pheno A continues to be one of those plants.
Now standing at approximately 90 cm, she's become one of the tallest ladies in the room, carrying herself with a strong, elegant structure while moving confidently deeper into early flower.
Every week she seems to add another layer to her personality.
And this week, she revealed one of my favourite characteristics yet.
🌱 Growing Her Own Story
For anyone joining this diary for the first time, welcome!
This entire project is being grown using the 12/12 From Seed technique.
Rather than providing a long vegetative period before flowering, every seedling receives twelve hours of light and twelve hours of darkness from the very beginning of life.
Instead of deciding when flowering begins...
...I allow each phenotype to decide for herself.
Some race into bloom.
Others take their time building structure before committing their energy to reproduction.
Watching those different strategies unfold inside the very same environment continues to be one of the most rewarding parts of this project.
Nature always has her own plans.
👑 A Crown Begins to Form
Flowering is now becoming impossible to miss.
The main apex is beginning to stack fresh white pistils while the secondary branches are quickly following behind.
Every growing tip is slowly transforming from vegetative growth into future flowers.
Although these buds are still small, you can already start to imagine the shape they'll eventually become.
This is one of my favourite stages of every grow.
Each morning brings noticeable progress.
Each day the plant looks just a little different than she did the day before.
The excitement only continues to build.
🍃 Nine Fingers of Beauty
One feature immediately caught my attention this week.
Those incredible nine-fingered fan leaves.
Large.
Wide.
Deep green.
Absolutely beautiful.
It's a question growers often ask:
Do nine-fingered leaves mean indica or sativa?
The honest answer is...
Not necessarily.
Leaf shape and leaflet count are influenced by both genetics and environmental conditions. While broad nine-fingered leaves are often associated with vigorous indica-leaning plants because of their wider leaflets, sativas and hybrids can produce nine, eleven, or even thirteen-fingered leaves as well when they're thriving.
Rather than acting as a reliable indicator of lineage, high leaflet counts are often simply a sign that the plant is healthy, mature, and growing vigorously.
In many ways, they're like a badge of confidence.
When a plant has everything she needs—healthy roots, stable nutrition, proper lighting, and a balanced environment—she has the energy to produce these large solar panels that capture tremendous amounts of light.
And that's exactly what these leaves are.
Tiny power stations.
Every one of them working around the clock to fuel the flowers that are only just beginning.
🌿 Strong Structure, Gentle Guidance
Standing around 90 cm, Godfather OG Pheno A has continued stretching while maintaining excellent branch spacing throughout the canopy.
The weeks of gentle Low Stress Training are paying off beautifully.
Rather than forcing the plant into an unnatural shape, the goal has simply been to open the canopy and allow every future flower site its opportunity to receive direct light.
Only small adjustments continue to be made.
A little leaf tucking here.
A gentle repositioning there.
Sometimes the smallest interventions produce the biggest rewards later in flower.
🍽️ Feeding for the Next Chapter
As flowering continues establishing itself, the nutrition program remains focused on supporting both the final stretch and the beginning of flower production.
This week's feeding included:
• Terra Bloom – 1.9 ml/L
• Green Sensation – 1 ml/L
• Sugar Royal – 1 ml/L
• Power Buds – 1 ml/L
• pH adjustments using Lemon Kick and pH Plus when required
Everything continues to be delivered through the AutoPot system, allowing the AquaValve to provide nutrient solution only when the plant has actually consumed what was previously available.
One of my favourite aspects of AutoPots is their simplicity.
The plant decides when she drinks.
I simply make sure the reservoir gives her everything she needs.
🌡️ Environmental Conditions
Consistency continues to be one of the strongest foundations of this grow.
This week's averages included:
• Day temperature: 29°C
• Night temperature: 25°C
• Relative humidity: 60%
• Nutrient solution: 22°C
• Root zone: 21°C
• CO₂ concentration: 639 ppm
Humidity has now been reduced slightly compared to previous weeks as flowering becomes more established, helping prepare the environment for healthy flower development while maintaining vigorous growth during the final stretch.
Healthy gardens aren't built through dramatic changes.
They're built through hundreds of small, consistent decisions.
📸 This Week's Gallery
This week's photographs tell the story perfectly.
The close-up shots capture clusters of fresh white pistils appearing across the tops of nearly every branch.
The side profile highlights her impressive vertical growth and elegant branch spacing.
And perhaps my favourite photograph of the week...
...that enormous nine-fingered fan leaf.
Sometimes one leaf says everything you need to know about a plant's health.
It almost looks too perfect to be real.
🔮 Looking Ahead
During the coming week I expect the vertical stretch to begin slowing as more energy shifts toward flower production.
The small pistil clusters should begin merging into recognizable bud sites while resin production quietly prepares to make its first appearance.
Training will remain minimal, allowing the plant's natural architecture to continue doing most of the work.
Something tells me this lady is only just getting started.
And if her early performance is any indication...
She's planning to live up to her name.
💚 Thank You
Thank you so much for following another chapter of this 8×8 Adventure.
Every week these plants remind me that growing isn't about controlling nature.
It's about creating the conditions that allow nature to express itself.
Watching each phenotype reveal its own character has been one of the greatest joys of this entire project, and I'm incredibly grateful to everyone sharing the journey alongside me.
A special thank you to:
💚 GrowDiaries for providing a platform where growers around the world can document their progress, learn from one another, and inspire the next generation of home growers.
Zamnesia for the outstanding genetics making this phenotype hunt possible.
🌱 Plagron for supplying the nutrients supporting every stage of this grow.
💡 Future of Grow LED for delivering the light that powers every leaf, every branch, and every flower.
🌿 TrolMaster for helping maintain a stable environment twenty-four hours a day.
And finally...
Thank you to everyone who follows these diaries, leaves a comment, asks a question, shares advice, or simply stops by to see how the garden is evolving.
Every update becomes a little more meaningful because it's shared with this amazing community.
I'll see you all next week as Godfather OG Pheno A continues growing into the queen she's already beginning to look like.
Until then...
