## Germination Week | Sometimes the Second Attempt Wins
Hello GrowDiaries family! ๐๐ฑ
Welcome to another new journey.
As some of you may have noticed, I've recently changed the way I'm documenting my grows. With the current photo limitations on GrowDiaries, each phenotype now receives its own dedicated diary whenever multiple plants are being grown.
This allows me to continue documenting every stage of development while selecting the best photographs from each week and keeping the documentation organized.
The goal remains exactly the same as always:
To create an honest, educational, and complete record from seed to harvest while sharing both successes and mistakes along the way.
And today's diary starts with a small lesson.
Because sometimes things don't go according to plan.
---
## The First Attempt
For this run, my original plan was exactly the same as with the other genetics.
Same germination method.
Same environment.
Same process.
Same care.
Yet sometimes growing likes to remind us that nature does not always follow our plans.
The first Passion Fruitz seed germinated successfully, but somewhere during the early stages I believe I made a mistake.
Looking back, I suspect I overwatered the coco starter plug.
The seed never established itself properly and the attempt ultimately failed.
And honestly?
That's part of growing.
Every grower experiences it sooner or later.
The important thing is not pretending mistakes never happen.
The important thing is learning from them.
---
## Attempt Number Two
Fortunately, I still wanted to explore this genetic, so I decided to give Passion Fruitz another chance.
A second seed was germinated using exactly the same Cannakan system that I've been using throughout this run.
Once again, the results were excellent.
Healthy taproot.
Fast germination.
Strong early vigor.
This time, however, I decided to make one small change.
Instead of placing the seed into a coco starter plug, I planted it directly into Plagron Lightmix.
And honestly?
The response was fantastic.
Within a very short time she was emerging strongly and showing exactly the kind of healthy development we hope to see from a young seedling.
Sometimes the smallest adjustments make the biggest difference.
---
## Germination Using the Cannakan System
For germination I used the Cannakan system.
For those unfamiliar with it, the Cannakan is a compartmentalized germination container that allows multiple cultivars to be organized separately while maintaining a stable environment.
Each section can be individually labeled, making it extremely practical when working with multiple genetics simultaneously.
The seed was placed inside using only plain water.
No nutrients.
No additives.
No stimulants.
Just water.
Within approximately 24 hours a healthy taproot had emerged and the seed was ready for planting.
Simple.
Clean.
Effective.
Exactly what we hope to see.
---
## Why Only Water?
One question that often appears during germination is:
"Why not feed the seed immediately?"
The answer remains simple.
The seed already contains everything required for its first stage of development.
Nature prepared that package long before we arrived.
Inside that shell are the energy reserves needed to establish roots and begin life.
At this stage, I prefer allowing the seed to do exactly what it was designed to do.
The objective is not to feed the plant.
The objective is simply to wake it up.
Water is enough.
---
## Environment
Environmental conditions remained the same as the rest of the run.
Temperatures stayed around 26โ27ยฐC.
Humidity remained between approximately 65โ70% using a Spider Farmer humidifier.
Airflow was intentionally kept very gentle.
The objective at this stage is creating a stable environment where the seedling can establish roots and begin growing without unnecessary stress.
---
## Lighting
Lighting during germination remained intentionally soft.
Young seedlings do not require intense light levels.
The goal is healthy establishment rather than aggressive growth.
Once properly established, this girl will move under the Future Of Grow Black Series 600W full-spectrum LED system alongside the rest of the garden.
Like all plants in this project, she will be grown under a 12/12 light schedule from seed to harvest.
A method that is a little different from what most growers choose, but one that has become part of my own cultivation style over time.
---
## First Observations
So far, everything is progressing beautifully.
Fast germination.
Healthy development.
Strong emergence.
Good vigor.
And perhaps most importantly:
A second chance well taken.
Sometimes a grow diary begins with a perfect start.
Sometimes it begins with a lesson.
This one happened to begin with both.
---
## Looking Ahead
Although Passion Fruitz started slightly behind the rest of the garden, she will quickly join the journey and continue alongside her sisters throughout the run.
Over the coming weeks we'll follow her development, structure, growth patterns, and whatever unique characteristics she decides to reveal.
Because every seed carries potential.
And sometimes all that potential needs is a second opportunity.
Huge thanks to Zamnesia Seeds for the genetics, Plagron for the substrate and nutrition, Future Of Grow for the lighting, and everyone following along on another seed-to-harvest adventure.

## Week 1 Vegetation | The Second Chance Starts Growing
Hello GrowDiaries family! ๐๐ฑ
Welcome back to the Passion Fruitz diary.
If you followed the germination report, you'll remember that this little lady's journey started slightly differently from the rest of the garden.
While her sisters were already establishing themselves in their final homes, Passion Fruitz first taught me a small lesson about patience and adaptation. The original seedling never fully established after germination, likely due to an overly wet starter plug. Rather than giving up on the cultivar, I decided to start again.
Thankfully, the second attempt proved successful.
And now, after a healthy germination and strong emergence, Passion Fruitz officially joins the rest of the garden for her first week of vegetative growth.
Sometimes all a plant needs is a second opportunity.
---
## Moving Into Her Final Home
Unlike many traditional growing approaches where plants are gradually stepped through multiple container sizes, this project follows a different philosophy.
Because every plant in this run is being grown under a 12/12 schedule from seed, I prefer eliminating unnecessary transplant stress whenever possible.
For that reason, Passion Fruitz was moved directly into her final 15-liter container filled with Plagron Lightmix.
The goal is simple:
Allow the roots to expand naturally from the beginning without interruptions or restrictions later on.
By giving the roots their final destination immediately, the plant can focus entirely on establishment and growth rather than recovering from future transplants.
---
## Introducing Mycorrhizae
One of the additions used during transplant was mycorrhizal fungi.
For newer growers, mycorrhizae are often described as one of nature's hidden partnerships.
These beneficial fungi form a symbiotic relationship with plant roots, creating an underground network that effectively extends the plant's ability to explore the substrate.
Think of it as nature's own support system.
The fungi receive sugars produced by the plant through photosynthesis.
In return, they help increase access to water, phosphorus, micronutrients, and other resources that may otherwise be difficult for young roots to reach efficiently.
While the effects are mostly invisible during the early stages, the objective is to establish a healthy underground foundation that can support vigorous growth throughout the cycle.
Growing often focuses on what happens above the soil.
But some of the most important work happens beneath it.
---
## Environment
Environmental conditions remained consistent with the rest of the room.
Temperatures stayed around 27ยฐC during lights-on.
Humidity remained near 55%.
Root zone and nutrient solution temperatures were maintained around 21ยฐC.
COโ levels remained approximately 600 ppm.
The Future Of Grow Black Series LED system continued providing approximately 350 PPFD under the 12/12 schedule.
Although this PPFD value may appear relatively high for a young seedling, it is important to remember that Daily Light Integral (DLI) changes significantly when plants receive only 12 hours of light compared to the more common 18-hour vegetative schedule.
In practical terms, the plant receives a shorter daily light exposure, allowing slightly stronger light levels without delivering excessive total daily energy.
The objective is to encourage early adaptation to the environment while maintaining healthy, stress-free development.
---
## Nutrition
As with the rest of the garden, the first irrigation consisted only of water.
Young seedlings already contain the nutritional reserves needed for their earliest stages of life.
Once Passion Fruitz began establishing herself in the new container, a gentle feeding program was introduced.
Current nutrition includes:
โข Plagron Terra Grow
โข Plagron Power Roots
โข Plagron Pure Zym
โข Plagron Sugar Royal
All applied at very light concentrations.
At this stage the objective is not maximum growth.
The objective is establishing a healthy root system and creating momentum for the weeks ahead.
Strong foundations almost always outperform aggressive beginnings.
---
## First Week Observations
Considering that Passion Fruitz started several days behind the rest of the room, her progress this week has been extremely encouraging.
She remains smaller than many of her sisters, which is entirely expected given her delayed start, but her overall development tells a much more important story.
Healthy color.
Balanced structure.
Good leaf formation.
Steady growth.
And perhaps most importantly, visible signs that she is already beginning to catch up.
Throughout the week her leaves expanded nicely, new growth emerged consistently, and she showed the kind of vigor that suggests the earlier setback is now firmly behind her.
The difference in age remains visible.
The difference in potential certainly does not.
---
## Looking Ahead
Week one was all about establishment.
Roots finding their new home.
Beneficial fungi beginning their underground work.
The plant adjusting to her final container.
And a young Passion Fruitz proving that a delayed start does not mean a weak start.
The coming weeks will reveal much more about her structure, growth habits, and personality.
For now, she's healthy, she's growing, and she's officially part of the race.
Sometimes the best stories don't begin perfectly.
Sometimes they begin with a comeback.
Huge thanks to Zamnesia Seeds for the genetics, Plagron for the substrate and nutrition, Future Of Grow for the lighting, and everyone following along on another seed-to-harvest adventure.

DogDoctorOfficial Week 2 - Passion Fruitz ๐ด๐๐ฑ
Hello everyone, and welcome back to another update from the 8ร8 Adventure!
For anyone joining this diary for the first time, this project follows multiple Zamnesia cultivars grown side-by-side under a 12/12-from-seed schedule. Most cultivars in this adventure are being documented as individual Pheno A and Pheno B diaries so each expression can be followed separately from seed to harvest.
Passion Fruitz is the exception.
And thatโs entirely my fault.
โธป
A Quick Recap
Originally, this cultivar was intended to have two plants like the rest of the project.
Unfortunately, during the earliest stages of the run, one seedling never made it past the starting line.
Looking back, the most likely cause was overwatering during the initial seedling phase.
No excuses.
Just a lesson.
Growing plants is one of the best teachers of humility because mistakes happen to all of us.
The important part is learning from them and moving forward.
Fortunately, one Passion Fruitz seedling survived, and what started as a setback is quickly turning into one of the most exciting plants in the room.
Sometimes all it takes is one healthy plant to tell the whole story.
โธป
Week 2 Overview
The entire 8ร8 Adventure continues progressing nicely as the plants move deeper into vegetative growth.
Environmental conditions remained stable throughout the week:
โข Light Schedule: 12/12
โข Day Temperature: 27ยฐC
โข Night Temperature: 25ยฐC
โข Relative Humidity: 55%
โข Solution Temperature: 20.1ยฐC
โข Substrate Temperature: 21ยฐC
โข COโ: Ambient (~600 ppm)
Lighting intensity was gradually increased to approximately 370 ยตmol/mยฒ/s as the young plants continue demanding more energy.
Watering remained consistent:
โข Day 8 โ 250 ml
โข Day 11 โ 250 ml
Week-ending nutrient values:
โข EC: 0.9 mS/cm
โข pH: 6.0
Current feeding schedule:
โข Terra Grow โ 1.8 ml/L
โข Pure Zym โ 1 ml/L
โข Power Roots โ 1 ml/L
โข Sugar Royal โ 1 ml/L
The entire room continues responding positively to the environment and feeding program.
โธป
Passion Fruitz โ The Comeback Story
If there is one word that summarizes this plant right now, it would be:
Resilient.
After losing her sister early, this lone survivor has continued pushing forward week after week.
And honestly?
She looks fantastic.
The structure is clean.
The leaves are beautifully formed.
The color is rich and healthy.
And the overall posture of the plant radiates confidence.
This is exactly the kind of growth that makes growers smile when opening the tent each morning.
โธป
Loving the Transplant
One thing that became very clear this week is how much this plant appreciated the transplant.
Last weekโs move into the final container appears to have been received extremely well.
Rather than slowing down, the plant responded with renewed vigor and noticeably improved growth.
Leaf size increased.
New growth accelerated.
Overall health improved.
The plant simply looks comfortable.
And when a plant looks comfortable, growers usually know things are moving in the right direction.
โธป
Mycorrhizae at Work
Another encouraging observation is the response following the introduction of mycorrhizal fungi.
While we obviously canโt see whatโs happening beneath the soil surface, the visible growth above ground suggests that the underground partnership is developing nicely.
Mycorrhizae create a relationship between plant roots and beneficial fungi, effectively helping the root system explore a larger volume of substrate.
The result can be improved nutrient uptake, better water access, and stronger overall establishment.
Again, we canโt directly credit every leaf to the fungi.
But we can say this:
Passion Fruitz looks incredibly happy.
And thatโs always a good sign.
โธป
Plant Development
This week the plant continued building a balanced and attractive structure.
The node spacing remains pleasant.
The leaf development is symmetrical.
Growth appears consistent from one side of the plant to the other.
Unlike some of her wonderfully quirky neighbors, Passion Fruitz seems determined to demonstrate textbook development.
Every new set of leaves emerges larger than the last while maintaining healthy shape and color.
She may be growing alone, but she certainly doesnโt look lonely.
โธป
The Importance of Keeping Records
Because Passion Fruitz is our only representative of this cultivar, I thought this week would be a perfect opportunity to talk about something that often gets overlooked:
Documentation.
One of the most valuable tools in any grow room isnโt a light.
It isnโt a nutrient bottle.
It isnโt even a tent.
Itโs information.
A simple calendar and a small whiteboard can become incredibly powerful tools.
They help track:
โข Germination dates
โข Watering schedules
โข Feeding schedules
โข EC and pH changes
โข Transplant dates
โข Environmental adjustments
โข Flowering transitions
โข Observations and notes
When problems appear, records help identify causes.
When success happens, records help repeat it.
Memory is wonderful.
Written notes are better.
The larger the project becomes, the more valuable those records become.
This is just my personal approach, of course. Everyone should develop the workflow that works best for them.
But I genuinely believe that a calendar and a whiteboard are among the most underrated tools in any garden.
โธป
Room Life
The room continues operating smoothly and providing a stable environment for growth.
This weekโs photos also captured some of the everyday details that make documenting a grow enjoyable:
โข Room-wide views
โข Equipment monitoring
โข Environmental management
โข Nutrient preparation
โข Water reflections and lighting effects
And of courseโฆ
Mr. Baggy remains employed.
Current responsibilities include:
โข Security patrols
โข Plant inspections
โข Morale management
โข Looking suspiciously important in photographs
โข Supervising absolutely everything
His performance reviews remain excellent.
โธป
Looking Ahead
Next week should bring another noticeable jump in size.
Expected developments include:
โข Larger fan leaves
โข Faster vegetative growth
โข Increased root establishment
โข Stronger stem development
โข More vigorous canopy expansion
โข Continued adaptation to the final container
If the current trend continues, Passion Fruitz could become one of the surprise stars of this entire run.
And honestly, sheโs already making a very convincing argument.
โธป
Final Thoughts
Week 2 has been a fantastic week for Passion Fruitz.
Yes, she began this journey alone after her sister failed to establish.
Yes, that was a lesson learned.
But sometimes setbacks become part of the story.
And this plant is turning that story into something special.
Healthy.
Vigorous.
Balanced.
Beautiful.
The transplant appears to have been a success.
The mycorrhizae seem to be doing their job.
And the plant continues rewarding patience with excellent growth.
A huge thank you to everyone following along and supporting this project.
Special thanks to Zamnesia, Plagron, Future of Grow, and all the partners helping make this adventure possible.
And as always, thank you to the community. Your support, encouragement, shared experiences, and willingness to learn together are what make these diaries worth creating.
Thank you for stopping by, and Iโll see you all next week for another update from the 8ร8 Adventure.

DogDoctorOfficial ๐ฑ Week 3 | Passion Fruitz | Small but Full of Potential
Not every plant develops at exactly the same pace, and thatโs one of the most enjoyable aspects of growing from seed. This Passion Fruitz may be a few days behind some of her neighbours, but she continues to develop steadily while displaying all the characteristics of a healthy young plant.
Rather than trying to force her to catch up, the goal is simply to provide stable conditions and allow her genetics to dictate the pace. Every phenotype has its own rhythm, and learning to respect that natural variation is part of becoming a better grower.
The environmental conditions remained stable throughout the week, giving every plant the same opportunity to thrive. Daytime temperatures averaged 27ยฐC, with nighttime temperatures around 25ยฐC. Relative humidity stayed close to 55%, while the root zone remained at 21ยฐC and the nutrient solution at 20ยฐC. Nutrient pH was maintained at 6.0, EC increased slightly to 1.3, atmospheric COโ averaged approximately 666 ppm, and lighting continued under the 12/12 From Seed schedule with approximately 600โ700 PPFD at canopy level.
This weekโs feeding remained focused on establishing a strong root system while encouraging healthy vegetative development:
โข Terra Grow โ 1.8 ml/L
โข Power Roots โ 1 ml/L
โข Pure Zym โ 1 ml/L
โข Sugar Royal โ 1 ml/L
The response has been exactly what we hoped for. Foliage is a rich healthy green, the stem continues to strengthen, and the newest growth is emerging cleanly without any visible nutrient deficiencies or environmental stress.
Although this phenotype is slightly smaller than some of the others, its structure is exceptionally promising. The internodes remain very close together, creating a compact architecture that should provide an excellent foundation once flowering begins. Rather than investing energy into vertical stretch, the plant appears to be concentrating on building a sturdy stem and a balanced framework capable of supporting future flower production.
One lesson Iโve learned over the years is that early size doesnโt always predict final performance. Some plants spend their first few weeks quietly establishing an extensive root system before suddenly accelerating once theyโre comfortable in their environment. Patience often rewards the grower far more than unnecessary intervention.
For now, the plan remains simple: maintain consistency, avoid overreacting to minor differences between phenotypes, and allow Passion Fruitz to continue developing at her own natural pace. Healthy plants donโt all grow at the same speed, but they almost always reward stable conditions and patience.
She may be the smallest member of the room today, but sheโs showing every sign of becoming a strong, compact and resilient plant in the weeks ahead.
As always, a huge thank you to Plagron, Zamnesia, GrowDiaries, and everyone following this Project Blue adventure. Mr. Baggy stopped by for his routine inspection and gave this little lady his official seal of approval. Sometimes the quiet ones have the biggest stories still waiting to be told.

DogDoctorOfficial ๐ฑ Passion Fruitz #5 โ Week 4 | The Underdog
Every grow has its own story, and this week the spotlight belongs to the only remaining Passion Fruitz in Folder #5.
Originally this project started with two phenotypes, Plant A and Plant B, but sometimes nature has other plans. One seedling didnโt make it through the early stages, leaving this beautiful girl to carry the Passion Fruitz banner on her own.
Instead of seeing it as a setback, I decided to embrace it. Every plant deserves its chance to tell its own story.
And what a beautiful story sheโs already writing.
โธป
Unlike several of her sisters, this phenotype started life at a slower pace.
She received exactly the same treatment as every other plant in the room:
โข 12/12 from seed ๐ฑ
โข Same Future of Grow LED intensity and PPFD
โข Same Plagron Terra feeding schedule
โข Same watering routine
โข Same environment
โข Same temperature and humidity
โข Same love and attention
Yet genetics always have the final word.
Some plants explode immediatelyโฆ
Others spend extra time building an exceptional root system before putting all their energy into vegetative growth.
Looking at her structure now, I believe sheโs doing exactly that.
The stem is thickening beautifully, the internodal spacing remains compact, and every new set of leaves arrives larger than the previous one.
She isnโt struggling.
Sheโs preparing.
โธป
One detail immediately caught my attention this week.
Her leaves are absolutely gorgeous.
Wide, symmetrical, deep green, perfectly flat and beautifully formed, giving her an incredibly healthy appearance.
Every new leaf unfolds with confidence, showing excellent vigor and no signs of deficiencies or nutrient stress.
Sometimes the slower plants end up becoming the strongest ones once flowering begins, and watching this phenotype develop is becoming one of the most interesting parts of the project.
โธป
๐ฟ Environment
The room continues running exactly as planned.
โข Temperature: 33ยฐC day / 25ยฐC night
โข Relative Humidity: 63%
โข Root Zone Temperature: 21ยฐC
โข Nutrient Solution: 26ยฐC
โข pH: 6.1
โข EC: 1.35 mS/cm
โข COโ: 639 ppm
Even with the warmer summer temperatures, the environment remains remarkably stable, allowing every phenotype to express itself under identical conditions.
โธป
๐ Feeding Schedule
This week she received the Plagron Terra program:
โข Terra Grow โ 1.8 ml/L
โข Power Roots โ 1 ml/L
โข Pure Zym โ 1 ml/L
โข Sugar Royal โ 1 ml/L
The feeding remains intentionally gentle, encouraging healthy root expansion before increasing nutrient demand later in the cycle.
At this stage, patience is far more valuable than pushing nutrients.
โธป
๐ฑ Development
She currently stands around 25 cm tall.
While sheโs smaller than some of the other Passion Fruitz phenotypes, her architecture is exactly what I like to see.
Compact.
Balanced.
Healthy.
Every node is stacking tightly, giving the impression that once stretch begins sheโll produce a dense, manageable structure thatโs perfect for indoor cultivation.
Growth has noticeably accelerated over the last few days, making me think sheโs beginning to settle into her rhythm.
Will she remain the smallest?
Maybe.
Will she surprise everyone later?
Very possibly.
Thatโs one of the reasons I love growing from seed.
Every phenotype writes its own story.
โธป
๐ Final Thoughts
Not every champion starts in first place.
Some quietly build their foundation while everyone else steals the spotlight.
This Passion Fruitz may have started slower than her sisters, but sheโs showing every sign of becoming an exceptionally healthy and vigorous plant.
Whether she stays compact or suddenly catches up over the coming weeks doesnโt really matter.
Right now sheโs exactly where she needs to be.
Healthy plants donโt need to win races.
They just need time.
โธป
As always, thank you to Plagron for the incredible nutrition, Zamnesia for making this amazing project possible, and to everyone following this 12/12-from-seed adventure from the very beginning.
Your support, comments, advice and encouragement make this journey even more rewarding.
See you all next week, and letโs discover together what this little underdog has planned for us. ๐ฑ๐

DogDoctorOfficial Passion Fruitz by Zamnesia
Week 5 | The Lone Survivor Begins Her Journey
Welcome back to another chapter of the 8ร8 Adventure!
Every diary in this project tells a different story, and todayโs update belongs to one of the most unique plants in the room.
Meet Passion Fruitz.
The only survivor from her seed pack.
Sometimes growing reminds us that nature doesnโt always follow our plans. Not every seed germinates, not every seedling makes it through the first few days, and sometimes a single plant ends up carrying the hopes of an entire variety.
Fortunatelyโฆ
She chose to fight.
And sheโs proving that determination can be every bit as important as speed.
โธป
๐ฑ The Journey So Far
For anyone joining this diary for the first time, welcome!
This entire project is being grown using the 12/12 From Seed method.
Instead of giving the plants an extended vegetative period before flowering, every seed has remained under a constant 12 hours of light and 12 hours of darkness since germination.
The objective is simple:
Allow every phenotype to reveal its natural growth pattern while comparing how different genetics respond under identical environmental conditions.
Every plant receives the same roomโฆ
The same lightingโฆ
The same climateโฆ
The same care.
Yet every single one develops its own personality.
Passion Fruitz is certainly doing exactly that.
โธป
๐ฟ Small in Sizeโฆ Big in Character
Compared to some of the larger ladies sharing the room, Passion Fruitz is definitely taking a slower approach.
At around 25 cm tall, sheโs currently one of the most compact plants in the entire project.
Sheโs a few days behind some of the other genetics, but thatโs perfectly normal.
Every cultivar develops at its own pace, and this one has clearly decided that patience is part of her strategy.
Rather than stretching aggressively, sheโs building herself from the inside out.
Short internodes.
Dense branching.
Compact growth.
Everything about her suggests sheโs focusing on creating a strong foundation before making her move.
Sometimes the slow starters become the biggest surprises later on.
โธป
๐ Beautiful, Healthy Growth
One thing that immediately stands out is the quality of her foliage.
Her leaves are absolutely beautiful.
Rich green colour.
Excellent turgor.
Compact node spacing.
Healthy new growth continues to emerge from every growing tip, giving the plant a very balanced appearance despite her smaller stature.
Looking closely at the newest growth, itโs easy to see sheโs gathering momentum.
Sheโs quietly preparing for the next chapter.
โธป
๐ง Feeding for Steady Progress
Although sheโs smaller than many of her neighbours, her feeding strategy follows the same philosophy used throughout this project.
The nutrient solution has been carefully balanced to support healthy root development while providing everything needed for vigorous vegetative growth.
Current feeding includes:
โข Terra Grow
โข Power Roots
โข Pure Zym
โข Sugar Royal
โข pH adjustment for optimal nutrient uptake
Rather than pushing rapid growth, the goal is consistency.
Healthy roots always build healthy plants.
โธป
๐ก๏ธ The Environment Behind the Growth
Like every plant in this room, Passion Fruitz benefits from a carefully controlled environment.
Current conditions include:
โข Day temperature: 31.1ยฐC
โข Night temperature: 25ยฐC
โข Relative humidity: 67.7%
โข Solution temperature: 25ยฐC
โข Root zone: 21ยฐC
โข COโ concentration: 636 ppm
Maintaining stable environmental conditions allows geneticsโnot environmental stressโto dictate how each phenotype develops.
That makes comparisons between plants much more meaningful.
โธป
๐ท This Weekโs Gallery
This weekโs photographs document every stage of her development.
Studio portraits highlight her compact structure and beautifully symmetrical canopy.
Close-up images reveal healthy new growth emerging from every node, while overhead shots showcase how dense and balanced the plant has become.
Iโve also included updates from the grow room itself so everyone following this adventure can continue seeing not only the individual plants, but also the environment theyโre growing in.
Even though sheโs currently one of the smallest ladies in the room, she certainly doesnโt lack personality.

๐ฎ Looking Ahead
Iโm genuinely excited to see how Passion Fruitz develops over the next few weeks.
I have a feeling sheโs simply operating on her own schedule.
As her roots continue expanding and the plant settles completely into the container, I expect her growth rate to increase significantly.
Sometimes the most rewarding plants are the ones that ask us to be patient.
Iโm not judging her by where she is today.
Iโm looking forward to discovering where sheโll be a month from now.
And something tells me she still has a few surprises waiting for us.

Week 6 | The Plant That Refuses to Follow the Schedule
Welcome back to another chapter of the 8ร8 Adventure!
Some plants race ahead.
Some quietly keep pace with the rest.
And then there are plants like Passion Fruitz...
Plants that politely ignore our expectations and decide to follow their own calendar.
Week after week she continues growing, building, and strengthening herself, while many of the other ladies around her have already begun flowering.
At first glance someone might think something is wrong.
But that's exactly why this project exists.
Sometimes the greatest lessons come from the plants that refuse to do what we expect.
๐ฑ Why This Project Exists
One of the goals of this entire 8ร8 Adventure has never been simply to grow beautiful plants.
The real objective is education.
Every plant in this room receives exactly the same opportunity.
The same room.
The same light schedule.
The same nutrients.
The same temperatures.
The same humidity.
The same COโ.
The same care.
The only thing that's different...
...is the genetics.
By documenting every phenotype individually, we can see something many growers never have the chance to observe.
Plants are individuals.
Even sisters from the same seed pack don't always make the same decisions.
And Passion Fruitz is giving us the perfect example.
๐ฟ Still Growing... And That's Perfectly Fine
While many of her neighbours have already started producing flowers, Passion Fruitz remains comfortably in vegetative growth.
No pistils.
No stretch into bloom.
No rush whatsoever.
Instead, she's investing every bit of energy into building herself.
Her canopy has become noticeably fuller.
Her branching is becoming stronger.
The stems continue thickening, and every new node adds to an increasingly compact and healthy structure.
She isn't falling behind.
She's simply following her own biological timetable.
๐ Genetics Always Have the Final Say
One of the biggest myths surrounding the 12/12 From Seed method is that plants immediately begin flowering simply because the lights are set to 12 hours.
This project has shown the opposite.
The light schedule tells the plant the season.
The genetics decide when she's mature enough to respond.
Whether it's a photoperiod plant...
An autoflower...
Or completely different phenotypes from the very same variety...
Every plant reaches that moment in its own time.
Passion Fruitz has become the living proof of that.
She's reminding us that growing isn't about forcing nature.
It's about learning to observe it.
๐ A Compact Beauty
Although she's still one of the smallest ladies in the room, she might also be one of the healthiest.
Her foliage is deep green and full of life.
The internodal spacing remains incredibly tight.
Every growing tip looks vigorous, with fresh new growth appearing almost daily.
This week required almost no intervention.
A little gentle leaf tucking here and there was enough to improve light penetration while allowing her natural structure to continue developing uninterrupted.
Sometimes doing less is exactly what the plant needs.
๐ง Letting Her Write Her Own Story
Her feeding program remains focused on healthy vegetative development, providing everything she needs while avoiding the temptation to push her faster than she's ready to go.
There's no special treatment.
No attempt to force flowering.
No drastic adjustments.
Just consistency.
One of the biggest lessons growing has taught me over the years is that patience often produces the best results.
Every plant deserves the opportunity to grow at her own pace.
๐ก๏ธ The Environment Remains Stable
As with every plant in this project, Passion Fruitz continues enjoying stable environmental conditions that allow her genetics to express themselves naturally.
Current conditions include:
โข Day temperature: 29ยฐC
โข Night temperature: 25ยฐC
โข Relative humidity: 60%
โข Solution temperature: 25ยฐC
โข Root zone: 21ยฐC
โข COโ concentration: 636 ppm
Keeping these conditions consistent removes as many external variables as possible, allowing the geneticsโnot environmental fluctuationsโto tell the story.
๐ท This Week's Gallery
This week's photographs beautifully capture the stage she's currently in.
The full plant portraits show just how compact and symmetrical she's becoming.
The close-ups highlight vigorous new growth emerging from every node, while the overhead shots reveal an increasingly dense canopy that continues to expand despite the absence of flowers.
Sometimes a plant doesn't need buds to be beautiful.
Sometimes healthy growth tells the entire story.
๐ฎ Looking Ahead
Sooner or later she'll decide the time has come.
And when she does...
We'll be ready.
Until then, I'm simply enjoying watching her teach us something many growers only discover after years of experience:
You can give every plant the exact same environment...
The exact same feeding...
The exact same lighting...
The exact same love...
And they'll still choose different paths.
That's the beauty of phenotype hunting.
That's the beauty of nature.
And that's exactly why every lady in this project deserves her own diary.
๐ Thank You
Thank you so much for following another chapter of this 8ร8 Adventure.
Projects like this remind me that growing isn't about chasing identical plantsโit's about understanding and appreciating the incredible diversity hidden within every seed.
A huge thank you to:
๐ GrowDiaries for providing an incredible platform where growers from around the world can learn, share, and inspire one another.
๐ฑ Zamnesia for providing the genetics that make this phenotype hunt possible.
๐ Plagron for supplying the nutrition supporting every stage of this journey.
๐ก Future of Grow LED for delivering the light powering this entire project.
๐ฟ TrolMaster for helping maintain a stable, carefully controlled environment day after day.
And finally...
Thank you to everyone following along, asking questions, sharing knowledge, and growing with me.
This little lady may not have started flowering yet...
But she's already become one of the best teachers in the room.
Sometimes the plants that take the longest to reveal themselves end up leaving the biggest impression.
Growers Love, and Passion Fruitz is proving that every plant blooms exactly when she's ready. ๐ฑ๐๐
