Oims_Finest To whom it may concern... I am starting this right now, b'cause I won't have much time for gardening topics and diaries for the next months. I will travel a lot and won't be home often. Also, the other diaries will be paused. So, I am enjoying my last day of my holidays near venice, sitting on the beach and I decided to narrate down what's in my head. Place and state of mind simply fit, hard to explain with words This will the first serious steps for creating my own, very special, cherry Haze. After a couple of years of testing several strains, I selected the most promissing participants for this journey. Let me introduce them to you and provide some context, why I have chosen those particular strains. Let's start with the backbone of my project.. 1.) Bloody Cherry Bask Triangle Farms, brings to the table: - Red berries - Dark fruits - Cherry Wine - lots of deepness - potency Cherry notes tend to a heavy amarena flavor which is really awesome. Great plant 2.) Neville's Gold Connoisseur Genetics would contribute: - Cedar wood - better trichome production - Tropical fruits - Incense - selected Haze Traits - Typical structure - shorter flowering time compared to the Original Haze Originally I had Relentless' Trop Cherry and the Original Haze purple pheno from Authentic Genetics in mind for this Project. Both have strong fruit esters and b'cause of former breeding projects, I know they tend to overlay other, less strong aromas and I don't want to build up a tropical fruit Haze. Furthermore, the Candy Cherry flavor from the Trop Cherry is not after my fancy. Too artificial. Secondly, I trust OJD @ Connoisseur Genetics way more than others when it comes to Haze Genetics. The diary will start in the near future, probably after my actual run by planting a pack of Neville's Gold alongside with a Full Pack of Bloody Cherry. Maybe I'll get another one to have at least 20 plants.. Simultaneously 10 seeds of the Black Cherry Soda will be planted in the dirt. The BCS is an amazing plant, if you got it from the right breeder. (Annunaki Genetics would be my first choice, but they no longer sell this strain) Sweet black cherry aroma Berry and fruit notes Pink/Purple/red stigmata depending on pheno Sugary, soda-like sweetness Earthy and slightly spicy undertones Occasional hints of diesel or pine depending on the phenotype She's a true jewel and I love her for the phenotypical range and the relatively mild effects. After selecting fems from Bloody Orange and BCS, they will be pollinated by a Neville Gold Buck. I hope within this pack is a decent Male. He wil be checked for structure, stem rub, gowing pattern, vitality and smell. The best offspring of those two seedruns will be selected for structure, terps of course, potency, effect and stem-rub hopefully finding the backbone of my Haze project.. The Rainbow Cherry and the Original Haze will be added and breed into to a later point, if some of their traits are required or could be beneficial for the project. The estimated time table to get first significant results will be somewhat between 2 to 5 years. It'll be a long ride, I won't report every wilted leaf but I'll try to share every major decission, explanation, critical point during the grow(s), with you... Join in and come along, get an idea how much work it is to create a strain with your desired traits.. especially those fruitcakes who think by crossing two plants, they r big into breeding... au contraire mes amis... Feel free to comment, ask, discuss.. open for everyone and everything. Servus Mike OimRausch
