Germination
2mo ago
Kcnvp I didn’t document the germination process but it’s the same at Basementganja’s on YouTube. Germinated in a solo cup filled with distilled water. I put them into a warm closet for 3 days until the tap roots are at least 1cm long. After, I prep the starter cups with FFHF and roughly 10-15% worm castings. I make a small 1-2cm hole in the center of the pre-moistened soil. I then insert the taproots, leaving the seed above the soil. I covered the starter pots with a humidity dome until sprouted. Roughly a day and a half total. I helped them along by removing the seed casing and membrane after they were above ground and split. They came off very easily.

Kcnvp Happy with the growth under the 24hr light schedule. I have some autos in their final week or so. Will be changing schedule to 18/6 once the autos are done.

Kcnvp Week 2 veg. Mixed 3 drops of Botanicare cal-mag plus and 10 drops of Flora Nova Grow into 500ml of water. Ph’d the water to 6.5. Based on the general hydroponics feed chart, it should come out to about a medium strength feed. Still happy with the growth under the 24hr schedule.

Kcnvp Day 14. I watered 3 times this week. 2 with nutrients and 1 plain water ph’d to 6.5. I have switched to the normal 18/6 light schedule. They look good and are growing nicely. The temp and humidity are acceptable but could be better. Nothing to do about it while the autos are drying in the 4x4. They are sitting under my mars hydro. Just not inside the 4x4.

Kcnvp Currently Day 21 of Veg. The ladies are still chillin' outside the 4x4 under my Mars Hydro FC-E6500 until my autos are finished drying in a couple of days. On day 18, I topped and defoliated the top pair of fan leaves to expose the nodes underneath. 3 days later I transplanted them into 1 gallon plastic pots. I also raised and increased the light intensity by 10% to match the height of them in their new pots. Light comes out to around 600ppfd via Photone app on iOS. I mixed together FFHF (Fox Farm Happy Frog) potting soil, worm castings, and perlite. My ratio is roughly 85% FFHF, 15% worm castings. I added roughly 1 cup of perlite. Before transplanting I wet the soil/root mass with some of the nutrient solution I mixed together containing only GH FNG (General Hydroponics Flora Nova Grow) at 3.2ml/gal. I then sprinkled Xtreme Gardening Myko Mycorrhizae onto the exposed roots and placed them into the 1 gal pot and covered with more soil. I then watered each plant with roughly 1 - 1.5L of nutrient solution.

Kcnvp The ladies are still recovering from the transplant and topping. Color is a little light in the new growth but should be fine after another week or so. I watered each plant with 1L of nutrient solution at 4ml/gal of (FNG) to each plant. I did some light leaf tucking, along with giving the pots their own saucers.

Kcnvp Forgot to take some pictures. The girls took 6 days to dry back for another feeding. They bounced back nicely from the transplant and topping. Just tucking some leaves for now.

Kcnvp Yesterday (day 32), I watered 500ml each of FNG at 4.5ml/g ph’d to 6.5. As you can see they needed it. Today (Day 33), the girls were ready for more water. Before watering, I amended the topsoil with roughly 1/2C of worm castings each to help the soil microbiology. After, I gave them 1L each of plain water ph’d to 6.5. I then did a heavy defoliation, exposing the undergrowth to more light; allowing it to catch up to the other taller growth. I estimate it’ll be another 7-10 days before transplanting to a larger 3gal pot.

Kcnvp 7/17 date on pictures. Some light defoliation mostly. My note keeping is bad right now but I fed each plant with FNG at 5ml/gal. Each plant received about 1.5L of nutrient solution. 2 days later 1.25L each with plain dechlorinated water ph’d at 6.5. Doing roughly 2 feedings and 1 plain water.

Kcnvp Dates aren't lining up well since I didn't document the germination process . From now on each new post will start with what day the plants are on e.g "Day 20" Day 46 They have grown a lot since last week event though I've neglected them a little. They're showing signs of what I believe to be a nitrogen and phosphorus deficiency. Maybe some cal-mag too. I let them dry back too far a couple times in the past week. I probably should've transplanted sooner, but here we are! Transplanted into 5 gallon plastic pots with extra drainage holes drilled into the bottom. I have not been good recently with taking pictures and note keeping. My process for transplanting was the same as the 1 gallon process. I mixed together FFHF potting soil with roughly 15% worm castings, and roughly a 3-4 cups of perlite. Gently removing the plants from the 1 gallon pot; I used a water bottle to wet the root mass with some de-chlorinated tap water ph'd to 6.5. I then evenly distributed a heaping tablespoon of Xtreme Gardening Mykos Mycorrhizae over the moistened root mass. Into the middle of pre filled 5 gallon pot, I added a little more Mykos before inserting the plant into it's new home. I added more soil mixture and lightly packed them in. Then I watered 1.5L of plain de-chlorinated tap water ph'd to 6.5. No defoliation, I'm letting them bounce back after transplanting. In hindsight they definitely needed a feeding of nutrient solution and an increase in volume watered as well. Whoops.

Kcnvp Day 58 - 8/3Fed the ladies 2L each of FNG at 6ml/gal. I did a massive defoliation and super-cropping today. I used some plastic coated garden wire, hooking them around the rim of the pots and hooked around the four main side branches to really open up the canopy. Cleared up bottom growth and fan leaves that were blocking bud sites. Ordered a 2pk of Vivosun trellis nets to implement soon. They're getting massive. Can I get away with all 5 if i flip to flower soon, or should I place one outside and give the remaining 4 another 3-4 weeks of veg before the flip? Any suggestions welcome! On day 50 - 7/28, four days after transplanting, I topped the plants for the second time. I did not defoliate. Watered three times this week, two feedings with 1.5 FNG at 5.5ml/gal and one with plain de-chlorinated tap water ph'd to 6.5.
