comet9000 bought on 2026-4-20. never grown weed before. no materials. just had a heater, a shitty lamp, and a dream. No temperature sensor or anything. humidity is a guestimate.

comet9000 Day 29 of flower. Nice to see some dark tips. It's living up to the name black maple… white powdery mildew seems contained for now. sprayed with milk and water on day 19, hydrogen peroxide 0.3% solution on day 20, and grower's ally every few days. milk left a weird cast that won't go away.

comet9000 Buds are definitely bulking. Seeing some fading begin. I finally have a pH testing kit. Currently, I am still going in with Grower's Ally every 5-6 days.

comet9000 The wpm returned and is in the sugar leaves. That was very sad to find. I have decided to go back to a 24 hour light cycle for week 8 to prevent the temperature swings that let wpm grow. Might make the buds wonky, but I'm scared the wpm spreading would do worse things to the plant... I'm definitely harvesting soon anyway! I can see some orange trichomes through the loupe. I think I see about 60-80% cloudy trichomes now at the end of week 7 using 60x magnification. almost to the finish line for my first grow! I went at the plant with hydrogen peroxide and growers ally over this week a lot. let's hope that helps!

comet9000 The 24 hour light idea was bad. The buds experienced light stress pretty quickly--truly experience is the greatest teacher. The plant also went through some heat stress due to a recent heat wave and more leaves yellowed than I would have liked. Since this plant has an 8 week flowering period, I have been checking the buds daily through my loupe. On day 55, the trichomes of the top buds were all cloudy, and 5-10% were amber. I harvested them (about 170 grams that's been washed and frozen). The smell while trimming was crazy, nearly made me gag! I've been letting the plant dry out between waterings. I watered it after the partial harvest so the lower buds can decrisp and fatten more. I lowered the light intensity to 70 percent. I've also been hitting it with hydrogen peroxide 3 percent at any wpm I see. happy growing 💗
