Hey guys! I am totally new here and so enthusiast to have joined 😁
In this diary I will follow and post the progresses of my Critical, which I'm growing for the first time.
I will also post about the two autoflowers growing on my balcony and I'd be grateful to receive comments if you spot mistakes or anything that could help me improve! 🙏
Have a tasty one and keep it growing 💪
Planted 5/8
4 days from seed
First sight of leaves
Day 23 from germination
It's growing slowly, staying compact and short which it's fine since I would like to top in a while.
Started to add a little of fertilizer to promote vegetation growing.
Day 30 from germination
It's growing a little faster, at least I think so.
Keeping the same level of fertilizer for now, adding just a little bit of CalMag.
Transplanted to the final textile flower pot (56 Litres).
UPDATE
I can see some difference even just after 24 hours 😉 👊
In these pics from the next days it's visible how faster she's growing since transplanted.
Check out the difference in only two days (same level of nutrients) 😉👊
Hey guys!! What's up?
Sun is shining on our garden and the plants love it 😃
IThis week I moved the Critical to a temporary spot outside, since in a few days I will finally place her in my brand new greenhouse, which took me a lot of work, especially in these hot days! But it was worthed 👊 I'm looking forward to giving a comfy growing place to this lady!!
So..the plant is growing definitely faster and she looks healty, at least according to the leaves look.
I topped (for the very first time) and increased just a tiny bit the levels of nutrients from 0.1 to 0.2/l.
She showed no signs of stress or suffering from it whatsoever. 💪
Please, if anyone should find ANYTHING wrong or looking weird or whatever else that could make me improve just comment and let me know! I'm very new to growing and even though I read a lot online I'm always looking for feedback! Thanks to anyone who read this and enjoy your growing 🙏😎
DAY 38
After three days of life in the wildness of our garden, this lady was still showing nothing but health. 😎
The leaves were nicely green and shiny, she was growing faster than the short period on the balcony and everything looked just fine, also under the leaves, where I wanted to check the presence of insects.
DAY 39
So, the day after I checked the plant in the evening and I found some holes in the leaves (Pic Day 39.detail).😐
I looked for it online and found a possible solution in Neem oil, which I had so I tried to spray it around and under the leaves (I made a solution with an organic liquid soap) and patiently dry off the exceeding drops on them to protect them from sun burning.
DAY 41
This time I did find some aphids (just a few) under the leaves but I promptly remove them.
Now, just two days later, the situation wasn't better.
No aphids, that's right, but all the leaves had some damage (Pic day 41.detail)😨
Unfortunately it's not getting better 😢
Guys, PLEASE, LET ME KNOW from any of your experiences if you know what could have caused it and some possible remedy..
Beside that, the plant is still growing!! I didn't give up and I kept bending, helping out all the branches from the bottom to come towards to the sunlight and directed horizontally the two main branches developed after topping..with good results so far, if it wasn't for these hungry mfckrs 💩👺
Many many thanks to anyone who had the patience to read this and especially to anyone will be so kind to write something about this issue, it would be thruly appreciated 🙏
Enjoy your growing everyone!! 😉
Day 53
It's been a while since the last update. That is because I've been on holiday, but of course I didn't forget about the plants and I was wondering how would they survive all those without my daily attentions.
However, I found with my great happiness that (you guessed it!)they kept growing and they look alright..well, at least they are not brown and dying or anything of the sort.
The weather wasn't so terrible as expected, 30° - 32°of average temperature during the day and a little fresher in the night(16° -18°). It rained twice and one of them I was told being kind of a longer storm, but no nutrients added whatsoever; anyway ,everything is ok so I started to have some fun
Bending!!! For the Critical I'm using a 56L textil pot, which doesn't make it so easy, so to solve the problem I simply made little holes with a needle and use them to anchor the ties.
Check the setting in the pics at different angles and please let me know what do you think about it (just following some geometric sense and freestyling around so I could use some tips)🙏
Started to give nutrients every second day and increased the level of GO Grow; not adding CalMag anymore.
UPDATE ON THE INVASION: all the damaged leaves from the pic of the last week are still there, and even though it looks like some little insect is still present, I am not as worried as at the beginning. I mean, damaged leaves will not definitely help the photosynthesis, so I will keep an eye on it (I'm trying to clean the leaves and spray some Neem Oil) but the plant is growing anyway and I believe she is healthy.
UPDATE: The GREENHOUSE became her new home :) It feels like it's 10° warmer there inside! I will try to measure the temperature in the next days
As always thanks for reading and keep it green!! 😎
Thanks man! I'm having a look at your Moby Dick XXL Auto, well done!! I was going to get it too but I finally went for the Cheese XXL instead. Enjoy your growing ;)
There is nothing I like more to see than a plant being grown outdoors as nature intended 👍
Our Critical+2.0 looks to be loving the outdoor life and this diary we will be following along with great interest 👊
Best of luck with the grow mate and thank you for choosing our genetics for this outdoor adventure on the grow diary platform 👌
All the best ✌️
Mark..
@DinafemSeeds, Hi Mark, hope you're doing fine :) I tried to move some ladybug I found in the garden directly on the leaves, so they could have some nice meal of those afids and microscopical insects I found on the plant, but still it's very hard to keep a real control over it. However, I hope things will get better in the green house and that the Neem oil will keep these annoyng eaters away.
Have a nice one 🤙
Fred
@Fredsai, Mother nature can be hard to face at times not necessarily for the weather but also the pests that get attracted to this wonderful plant 🙄
Have you thought about any "natural" predators and planting companion plants to attract "cannabis" friendly pests/predators?
All the best ✌️
Mark..
@DinafemSeeds, thanks Mark!! I'm finally in a place where the weather looks great to enjoy a decent growing season 👌😃 this year I consider these three plants my first ones, in the past I just saw some growing but I've never took care of them by myself, so I'm curious to see if I can manage to taste my buds starting from seed 😃 tomorrow I will update this diary and you will see how Mother Nature has put this lady to test..🙄
Have a nice one 🤙
Fred
You are looking good.
I just want to share my experience a little. I had issue with my cal mag. Miscalculated ppm level and over dosed it. And it increased my pH. In retrospective, it was not needed. I think it was added to raise pH so plants can absorb potassium better and hence bigger sweeter buds.
So, I don't think you need to add cal mag at veg and start adding from pre-flower stage.
Just my idea. Your plant looks happy and there is no need to adjust.
@Fredsai, I actually alternate between two microbes.
First is a bacteria call BT. Bacillus Thuringiensis. It is a common anti-pest and in many garden product.
After a while bugs can build resistance. If I see heavy infestation, I use a fungus powder with Beauveria Bassiana. This one I can mix with my anti-mold fungus, trichoderma harzianum.
The names are a mouthful. These things are in branded products but are call differently.
@Med_in_Tropic, hey man thanks a lot! I just started to follow your advice, I stopped with Calmag on this and kept adding it to one plant from an unknown seed just to check if there will be some visible differences :) thanks again for sharing and for the tips 👍 good luck with yours 🌱
Look like a real challenge. Can you get anti-caterpillar bacteria?
Or chemical insecticide would still be okay at vegging stage. Any way, your new green house will let you have much better control on grow variables.
Cheers
@Med_in_Tropic, Hey Med! Thanks for the tip :) I have no idea what it actually is, so I'm getting informed about it and I will give it a try. I have just moved her into the new green house after some treatment with Neem oil, I hope it will be better there, even though it's in the same garden and I have no way to keep it as close as to avoid insects to get in.
Thank you again and have a nice one ;)
@CoastGrower, I wanted to try both, the textile and the air pots, which I couldn't get at the end so it was an easy choice😃 some day I will try to make some comparisons between different flower pots and write about it
In a couple of months, it will be time to start a plant so she will see a relatively dry period toward harvest. And I want to also start Critical + 2.0. So I am keeping my eyes open for outdoor grow of this strain.
Happy growing
i have my first green house grow going on right now,so far so good, the temp. will go 20 degrees higher then outside but the ladies can handle it,i walk into my g.h sometimes and i just start dripping sweat, they have nothing to fear from the weather no more, they should do great, best of luck to ya bro.stay high.
Welcome back from your holiday and thank you for the outdoor update mate 👍
Keep up the great work and please keep the updates coming 👊
All the best ✌️
