TruTraTri Intro - Delayed Entry into Bat Country: Germination was no clean launch onto the highway. For 10 days, nothing came through but heat, dust and suspicion. Somewhere under the sand, the seed was still arguing with the bats. Then she finally broke the surface. Late, strange, but alive. The Sunset Sherbet Go Fast has entered Bat Country. TruTraTri **Week 1 – Empty Highway** She came out late, so the first real mile was mostly empty road. “No movement?” “Nothing. Just heat and that thing sitting there like it’s thinking about it.” “Thinking about what?” “Whether this trip is worth surviving.” No wild maneuvers, no strange damage control, no heavy supplies burned on the asphalt. Just a small passenger under the sherbet sky, still shaking off the sand while the desert stayed quiet in that suspicious way. “You feel that?” “What?” “That silence. It’s wrong.” “Relax. If the bats were coming, we’d know.” The conditions stayed mostly uneventful — steady temperatures, no wild swings, nothing dramatic happens, but you still keep one eye on the horizon. The highway is open, but for now Bat Country keeps its distance. *"No point mentioning these bats. I thought. The poor bastard will see them soon enough.."* — Raoul Duke

TruTraTri Week 2 – High Beams on the Edge of the Desert After the late germination, she was still running behind schedule — a small passenger in the back seat, blinking into the sherbet glare, trying to decide whether the highway was real or just another bad reflection in the windshield. “Do we push her?” “She needs light.” “She already has light.” “Not this kind.” So the beams were turned on a little harder, not as a rescue mission, but as a very questionable desert ritual: artificial sunrise poured over the road, the kind of glow that makes the dashboard look guilty and the bats start flying in cleaner circles. The plant stayed in place, gathering herself at her own strange pace, while Bat Country leaned over the windshield and whispered that catching up is just another form of speeding. Still moving. Just slowly enough to make the driver suspicious. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ "As your attorney, I advise you to drive at top speed. TruTraTri **Week 3 – Artificial Sunrise Mileage** The week stayed quiet. The extra light kept burning like a second sun strapped to the hood of the car — not elegant, not natural, but effective enough to make the little passenger sit up a fraction straighter in the back seat. “Is she catching up?” “Barely.” “Barely counts?” “Out here, barely is how most things survive.” So the road stayed mostly calm, but the glow changed the mood. Bat Country looked less like a waiting room and more like a badly lit interrogation chamber, with the plant slowly remembering that this was supposed to be a fast trip. At night the temperature dropped hard — down to around 1°C — the kind of cold that creeps in under the doors and settles on everything like a quiet threat. The days didn’t change, but the nights started biting. Not fast yet. But less late than before. __________________________________________________________________ *"Buy the ticket, take the ride."* — Raoul Duke

TruTraTri **Week 4 – Bigger Seat, Same Strange Sun** She gained a little ground this week. Not enough to call it a clean chase, but enough to look less abandoned next to the faster ones that popped early and came out swinging. The extra light stayed on her like a suspicious desert spotlight, still trying to buy back the time she lost under the sand. “She’s catching up.” “Careful with that kind of talk.” “Why?” “Because the road hears optimism and charges interest.” This week she was transplanted — moved into a bigger seat for the ride, with more room around the roots and a better chance to stretch out before the highway gets ugly. The nights were still cold, but the days finally had more warmth in them. Better road conditions, at least on paper. In Bat Country, paper usually catches fire. Small, late, and still under artificial sunrise — but moving with a little more purpose. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ *"Why not? TruTraTri Week 5 – Endurance Contest Under Casino Light This was a good warm week, finally the kind of weather where the road stops looking offended and starts behaving like asphalt again. The extra light stayed on her like casino surveillance — bright, suspicious, impossible to argue with. But photons are not magic. More light does not automatically mean more size, more stretch, or some sudden growth miracle under pressure. “Is the light working?” “It’s working.” “Then why isn’t she exploding?” “Because this isn’t a drag race. It’s a long haul.” She had caught up a little before, but this week the obvious gain was small. Still, the setup stayed in motion, and Bat Country hates wasted cargo. So two lower shoots were removed. Not a grand operation. More like throwing a bit of unnecessary weight out of the trunk before the checkpoint — nothing dramatic, just keeping the ride focused. The road felt easier this week. The light kept humming, the engine stayed steady, and she moved at her own pace — slow, deliberate, and impossible to rush. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ "There he goes. TruTraTri **Week 6 – The Engine Finally Catches** The heat backed off a little this week, and that was exactly what the road needed. Bat Country loosened its grip on the windshield, the asphalt stopped behaving like molten hotel carpet, and the plant finally seemed to remember that “Go Fast” was printed somewhere on the paperwork. “Did she move?” “She accelerated.” “Plants don’t accelerate.” “Tell that to the odometer.” The jump was hard to ignore — from a small passenger low in the seat to something with elbows, opinions, and a better claim on the back row. This was proper growth, finally. The kind that makes the driver stop muttering at the horizon and start believing the engine might survive the desert after all. She still has ground to make up, but this week felt like the first clean bite of momentum. ____________________________________________________________________________________________ *"This is what it's all about!"* — Raoul Duke

TruTraTri **Week 7 – Home at Last in the Autopot** Everything kept rolling under the same conditions this week. The big move was the transplant into the final pot — the Autopot, the permanent suite, the place where the passenger stops checking motel prices and starts pretending this was the plan all along. “Is this the final room?” “It has to be.” “That sounds dangerous.” “Most permanent decisions do.” The plant had earned more space after finally catching some momentum, so she was moved into the proper seat for the rest of the ride. Bat Country looked over the paperwork, stamped it with dust, and said nothing useful. The engine stayed steady. The road kept humming. The final pot is now part of the trip. From here on, she is not just riding through the desert anymore. She has luggage. ___________________________________________________________________________________________ *"Ah, home at last!"* — Raoul Duke

TruTraTri **Week 8 – Steering Lessons in Dry Heat** The week came in very warm and dry, the kind of weather that makes the convertible feel less like a car and more like a moving ashtray with legal problems. She stayed in the final pot and kept rolling, but the ride needed a little direction now. Some LST was done — gentle pressure, careful steering, bending the trip into a shape that looked less vertical and more survivable. “Why are you tying her down?” “I’m not tying her down.” “That looks like tying her down.” “It’s guidance. Very different in court.” Lower pruning followed underneath, cleaning out the small useless business from the darker part of the vehicle. A few lower shoots were removed before they could start filing false expense reports from the trunk. Bat Country approved of the move in its usual way: heat shimmer, silence, and the faint smell of dust pretending to be strategy. The plant looked like she could handle it. The road stayed dry. The steering got cleaner. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ *"We need total coverage."* — Lacerda

TruTraTri **Week 9 – The Suite Starts Sweating** The heatwave checked in like it owned the place. Warm nights, brutal days, and an average that felt less like weather and more like a room-service bill written by reptiles. The suite felt heavy. Even the carpet looked suspicious. “Is this still climate?” “It was climate yesterday.” “And today?” “Today it has a lawyer.” The plant rode out the casino heat while the room glowed with neon and bad intentions. A light defoliation opened things up, and some lower growth was removed — the small operators hiding below and draining supplies. Bat Country had moved indoors now: less highway, more carpet, more neon, more sweat behind the sunglasses. The trip keeps moving. It just smells like hot dust and hotel electricity. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ *"My blood is too thick for Nevada. TruTraTri *not sure about the preflower* **Week 10 – The Carpet Starts Moving** The heatwave was still in the building, but it had taken off its jacket. After the last week, the suite felt almost civilised in that rotten Vegas way — warm air, tired walls, and a carpet pattern that seemed to crawl whenever the driver looked away. “Something changed.” “The heat?” “She did.” “That’s worse. Weather is honest.” The plant kept moving under the neon haze, and a different signal appeared in the room now: the first hint of preflower. A small shift, but enough to make the whole assignment feel more serious. A light defoliation opened the scene again, like pulling the curtains in a hotel room and immediately regretting the view. The smaller distractions were kept out of the way while the main act started stepping forward under the casino glow. Bat Country had become carpet, mirrors, warm air, and suspicious timing. The trip is changing shape now. _______________________________________________________________________________________________ *"Terrible things were happening all around us..."* — Raoul Duke

TruTraTri **Week 11 – Dry Wind in the Hotel Suite** The heat stayed in the building, but compared to the peak two weeks ago it had lost some of its violence. Then the dry wind arrived. A hot, empty desert wind moving through Bat Country, carrying dust, drought, and that strange feeling of air that has forgotten what water is. The kind of wind that dries everything it touches and makes the whole world look like it has been left under a heat lamp for too long. “Where did that come from?” “The desert.” “It followed us?” “The desert always knows where you are.” The suite had taken on a different mood now. The air felt dry, the lights felt sharper, and the whole place had that strange Nevada feeling — a room full of expensive things sitting in the middle of a landscape that wants to turn everything into dust. Outside, the dry wind kept rolling. Inside, Bat Country carried on with its usual strange rhythm. The plant kept moving through the heat and dryness, while the hotel around it felt more and more like a temporary stop in the middle of nowhere. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ *"Be quiet, be calm... name, rank, and press affiliation, nothing else..."* — Raoul Duke

TruTraTri **Week 12 – The Thermostat Joins the Conspiracy** The same weather pattern came back, only turned one notch higher. The hotel suite had settled into a dry, buzzing heat — the kind that makes every lamp look guilty and every glass of water feel like evidence. The wind kept moving through the place like a clerk with a bad envelope, whispering dust under the door and leaving the air thin and electric. “Did someone touch the thermostat?” “The thermostat touched us.” “Can it do that?” “In this hotel, everything signs for the room.” The plant stayed in the assignment, taking the warmer week as part of the deal. There was a strange steadiness to it now: heat above, dryness around, neon on the walls, and Bat Country pressing its ear to the carpet. By the end of the week the suite felt less like shelter and more like a test chamber paid for with a stolen credit card. Still moving, with the weasels somewhere in the walls. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ *"The weasels were closing in."* — Raoul Duke

TruTraTri **Week 13 – Send Up Some Ice** The heatwave eased a little, but Bat Country immediately found a worse way to stay involved. Wind came through the hotel like a nervous bellboy with sand in his pockets. Then the storm joined in, dry and loud, dragging the last bit of moisture out of the room until the whole place felt like a hairdryer aimed at a crime scene. “Why are the leaves hanging?” “She’s thirsty.” “We have supplies.” “The pot is losing the argument.” The plant was still sitting in the small 20 liter setup, and this week it looked like the ride was starting to outrun the tank. The leaves dropped down, tired from heat, wind, storm, and that dry Föhn feeling that makes even the carpet beg for water. The weather had become less brutal on paper, but more personal in the room. Dry air, thirsty leaves, and Bat Country pacing behind the curtains with a clipboard. This was not just heat anymore. This was the suite trying to drink back. _____________________________________________________________________________ *"Send up some ice."* — Raoul Duke

TruTraTri **Week 14 – Badges in the Lobby** The storm moved on and left Bat Country in its regular summer uniform: hot, dry, and professionally suspicious. The hotel suite had stopped rattling, but the building was waking up around it. Somewhere below, doors opened. Neon clicked. Carpets shifted under polished shoes. The heat had moved out of the room and into the hallways, carrying itself like official business. “Feels hotter again.” “That’s routine heat.” “Routine?” “The dangerous kind. It has a schedule.” The plant kept moving under the warm pressure while the whole place prepared for the next part of the assignment. This was no longer just a sweaty room with bad air. There were signs of organisation now — chairs being arranged, badges being printed, reptiles gathering near the bar with notebooks and dry mouths. Bat Country had found a venue. By the end of the week, the suite felt less like shelter and more like backstage. The real weirdness was assembling downstairs. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ *"All energy flows according to the whims of the Great Magnet."* — Raoul Duke

TruTraTri **Week 15 – The Branches Take the Lobby** The heatwave stayed on duty, and the nights came in a few degrees warmer, as if the hotel had decided to keep the neon running after midnight and charge the moon for electricity. Bat Country had moved downstairs now. The suite was still sweating, but the real business had shifted into the lobby: badges, carpet, wrong faces, dry mouths, and that bright official glow where every harmless detail starts looking like evidence. The first signs of preflower became visible this week. A small signal, but the kind that changes the whole assignment. Suddenly this was more than growth under lights. This was paperwork. This was the next department opening its door. A few earth hooks went onto the side branches, although calling them earth hooks became legally questionable once they started working above the floor. Air hooks, then. Promoted by necessity. “Branches?” “Witnesses. Separate them before they start agreeing with each other.” The stretch joined the operation and gave the lower branches real distance. They pulled longer, reached outward, and turned the plant into something much wider than before — less like a quiet passenger and more like a botanical incident spreading across the lobby carpet. By the end of the week, she had taken up more space, shown the first preflower signs, and started looking like she belonged in the middle of this deranged conference. Bat Country had badges, neon, reptiles, and now a plant occupying territory like it had paid for the whole floor. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ *"This is a very ominous assignment -- with overtones of extreme personal danger."* — Raoul Duke

TruTraTri **Week 19 – Magic Moment in Sport** The course settled into mixed weather this week: normal warmth, cooler nights, sun coming and going, wind still cutting across the track, gusts rattling the loose parts, rain drifting through whenever Bat Country felt theatrical. After the thunder division, this almost felt organised. The dune buggies had stopped sliding sideways for long enough that the pit crew could walk the course and pretend to understand what had happened. Lacerda came back with a camera full of blur and a face that suggested victory, fraud, or both. The plant kept her place in the race. No big rebuild this time, just very light targeted lollipopping and defoliation — small pit work, quick hands, removing only what looked like it had wandered into the wrong department. Somewhere near the press tent, a reptile in goggles claimed the booster plant was still street legal. Nobody asked to see the paperwork. The weather kept changing channels: sun, wind, gusts, rain. Bat Country had become less violent, but more unpredictable — the kind of track where every calm stretch feels like bait. By the end of the week, the plant was cleaned up just a little, the race kept moving, and everyone agreed to call the situation manageable until proven otherwise by weather, reptiles, or poor judgement. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ *"This is a magic moment in sport!"* — Magazine Reporter

TruTraTri **Week 17 – Total Coverage in the Dust** The week felt cooler, and that was the first trick. By noon, the relief had turned into a press tent full of bad information. Still a heatwave, still dry, but now with a steady hot wind cutting across the course and heavy gusts tearing through Bat Country like someone had started the Mint 400 inside the grow. The air carried dust, heat, and that brutal Föhn feeling — the kind of wind that drinks before the plant gets a fair chance. Out on the course, the side branches kept stretching. One group left the line, then another, then the lower riders started pulling long across the sand as if someone had dropped the flag and forgotten to tell the officials. Lacerda was somewhere in the dust cloud, taking pictures of absolutely nothing. “Can you see the plant?” “Parts of it.” “That’s enough for coverage.” The water situation stayed ugly. Supplies went in, the dry wind took its cut, and the whole operation felt like chasing motorcycles through a brown wall while pretending the notes would make sense later. By the end of the week, the main story was clear: cooler on the skin, still hot in the bones, wind across the track, water vanishing fast, and side branches stretching like racers disappearing into the desert one wave at a time. Bat Country had left the lobby and found the race course. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ *"The idea of trying to cover this race in any conventional press sense was absurd."* — Raoul Duke

TruTraTri **Week 18 – Mint 400, Thunder Division** The temperatures finally returned to something almost normal, especially at night. Then the storm arrived. Thunder rolled over Bat Country, rain hammered the course, and the wind turned the grow into an off-road race. Plants went down. Autopots slid across the floor. One reptile mechanic tried to strap the plant to a dune buggy as a booster. Nobody stopped him. The flowering was still moving at a glacial pace, somewhere behind the starting line while the rest of the desert had already exploded. The storm called for pit work: a little more defoliation and lollipopping, followed by improvised HST. With no proper training material available, several side branches were bent into a more horizontal position, spreading the plant out and keeping the wind from turning every branch into a handlebar. Lacerda documented the whole disaster from behind a wet press badge. His notes contained three words: “Plants. Rain. Liability.” By the end of the week, the course was soaked, the Autopots had changed position, the branches were bent low, and the plant was still inching toward bloom — slowly, stubbornly, and apparently determined to finish the race without the assistance of a reptile-powered dune buggy. __________________________________________________________________________ *"Where's the damn race?"* — Dune Buggy Driver

TruTraTri **Week 19 – White Rabbit on the Race Course** The bathtub was already full when Gonzo started yelling for the tape. Rain hammered the course outside. Wind shoved against the walls. Gusts came in waves, like the whole Mint 400 had broken through the bathroom door and flooded the suite with mixed weather: sun, rain, cooler nights, warm air, and that nervous trackside feeling when nobody knows whether the race has ended or just changed rooms. The plant stood by the sink, lightly cleaned up with targeted lollipopping and defoliation, watching this disaster like a sober witness at the wrong convention. Gonzo wanted White Rabbit. He wanted the sound to rise, the room to peak, the storm to hit the porcelain at exactly the right moment. “Feed your head,” the tape whispered. Duke looked at the radio. Then at the tub. Then at the grapefruit. A grapefruit is not a weather instrument, but in Bat Country it can become one very quickly. It hit the water like thunder. Gonzo screamed. The shower curtain snapped in the gusts. The plant stared through the steam and still took her sweet time with flowering, as if blooming during this kind of electrical malpractice would be bad form. Then the fever cracked. Back on the course, Lacerda was shouting into the rain with a soaked press badge and a camera full of useless proof. The weather kept changing laps. The plant was still in the race — trimmed lightly, moving slowly, and refusing to explain the rabbit. _______________________________________________________________________________________________ One pill makes you larger And one pill makes you small And the ones that mother gives you Don't do anything at all Go ask Alice When she's ten feet tall ----------------------------------------------- And if you go chasing rabbits And you know you're going to fall Tell 'em a hookah-smoking caterpillar Has given you the call Call Alice When she was just small ----------------------------------------------- When the men on the chessboard Get up and tell you where to go And you've just had some kind of mushroom And your mind is moving low Go ask Alice I think she'll know ----------------------------------------------- When logic and proportion Have fallen sloppy dead And the White Knight is talking backwards And the Red Queen's off with her head Remember what the dormouse said Feed your head Feed your head Jefferson Airplane, “White Rabbit”

TruTraTri **Week 20 – Know Your Dope Fiend** The plant was wheeled onto the stage of the National DA’s Conference on Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs and immediately became the most credible person in the room. Dr. Blumquist adjusted the microphone. “The reefer butt is called a ‘roach,’ because it resembles a cockroach.” Two hundred badges stared at the plant. In the last two days she had exploded into foliage, filling every available gap with leaves and side growth. The flowers, meanwhile, were barely getting started. Trichomes had yet to report for duty. A branch was bent down by hand during the demonstration. It snapped. Three cops leaned forward. Someone wrote **AGGRESSIVE RESPONSE TO MANUAL CONTACT** on a clipboard. From the back row Gonzo muttered, “What the fuck are these people talking about?” That was when somebody noticed the smell. Still mild, but now detectable from a couple of steps away. Half the room turned toward the exhibit while the other half pretended they had noticed it first. Outside, summer and autumn were changing shifts: warm days, hard wind, storms, and increasingly cold nights. Another preventive dose of BTI went into the proceedings. A deputy asked whether it was narcotic. Gonzo asked for two. By the end of the session, the foliage had taken over the exhibit, one branch had become a case file, the room smelled faintly suspicious, and the experts were still waiting for the dangerous part to appear. The plant appeared equally interested in waiting. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ *"We must come to terms with the Drug Culture in this country."* — Dr. Blumquist

The plant stood beside the podium, healthy, freshly thinned, covered in side branches and small bud sites while the actual flowers continued to lag behind. Blumquist struck the screen with his pointer. “Gentlemen. Botanical escalation.” A deputy started counting bud sites. Another tried to classify the branches. Duke leaned toward Gonzo. “They’re studying it.” “They’re studying the wrong end of it.” Outside, sun, drizzle, wind and hard gusts traded places while the colder nights filled the parking lot with thick fog. Blumquist pointed toward the windows. “Atmospheric narcotics.” Gonzo stared at him. “I saw these bastards in Easy Rider. I didn’t believe they were real.” The delayed flowers became *concealment behavior*. The excessive branching became *distributed intent*. By lunch, three committees were arguing over whether the plant was hip, groovy, or actively resisting classification. Duke watched them for a while. “We should leave before they promote it to expert witness.” ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ "Now, there are four states of being in the cannabis, or marijuana, society: Cool, Groovy, Hip, and Square." — Dr. Blumquist

TruTraTri *Week 22 – Know Your Dope Fiend* The lights went out. A projector rattled to life above the conference hall. *KNOW YOUR DOPE FIEND! YOUR LIFE MAY DEPEND ON IT!* The plant stood directly beneath the screen, freshly thinned in a few places, while grainy black-and-white propaganda crawled across the walls behind her. Outside, Bat Country had developed two climates. By day: high summer. By night: almost frost. One officer raised his hand. “Is that withdrawal?” Gonzo slowly turned toward Duke. “I need a drink.” Blumquist ignored them. He had found a pointer and was now circling the buds, which might have thickened slightly since the last session. “Progression,” he announced. The room leaned forward. Very little else had actually happened. This did not discourage the conference. The colder nights became *advanced environmental symptoms*. The hot days became *aggravating exposure*. The light defoliation was entered into evidence as *manual interference with the specimen*. Then the film narrator boomed across the room: **“The Dope Fiend fears nothing.”** Two hundred cops looked at the plant. The plant looked back. Gonzo stood up. “That’s enough education for one day.” Five minutes later, he was heading for the bar. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ "The Dope Fiend fears nothing." — Film Narrator

TruTraTri .**Week 23 – They're Everywhere** The conference finally spilled into the bar. A District Attorney from Georgia was halfway through his whiskey when Duke placed the plant beside him. The DA stared at it. “Looks harmless.” That was when the aphids were discovered. Gonzo leaned closer, suddenly interested. There were bugs in the leaves, earwigs somewhere in the operation, and one small mold spot had appeared after all the wet, wind-beaten confusion. The DA went pale. Duke lowered his voice. “This is how they get in.” Within minutes, the bar had become an investigation. Aphids were described as organized infiltrators. The bugs were surveillance. The earwigs were suspected of eating evidence. Every infested leaf was removed immediately, which turned into a much heavier defoliation than originally planned. Outside, Bat Country kept switching seasons: summer warmth during the day, brutally cold nights, occasional rain, fog hanging low in the mornings. The wind had pushed the plant hard enough that she was leaning against it, so she was tied down more securely before the weather decided to relocate her entirely. The buds are getting a little thicker now, and the trichomes look promising, but she is still the slowest one in the room. The DA looked at Duke. “How bad is it?” Duke glanced at the stripped leaves, the insects, the fog outside, and the plant still taking her sweet time. “Worse than you think.” _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ "They're everywhere. Nobody's safe." — Raoul Duke __________________________________________________________________________________________________________ *OOC – Grow Notes* - Aphids and various bugs were discovered while checking the trichomes. - One small mold spot was found; possible connection to earwig damage - Heavy defoliation was performed, especially removing foliage affected by aphids. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________

TruTraTri *Week 24 – Ether at the Bazooko* The sensible thing would have been to leave Las Vegas. Instead, Gonzo produced the ether. By the time they reached the Bazooko Circus, the floor had become optional. Duke moved through the casino sideways while trapeze artists crossed the ceiling and the plant travelled between them as the only apparently sober member of the expedition. She had suddenly made more progress in three days than anyone expected. Duke distrusted this immediately. Gonzo leaned toward one of the stems. “Are those moving?” “Everything is moving.” “No. Those are moving on purpose.” The aphids had reached the stems. Duke stared through his glasses for several seconds. “We should never have taken her to the narcotics conference.” That seemed perfectly reasonable on ether. They continued deeper into the Bazooko, past screaming machines, nets, acrobats and people gambling with the concentration of brain surgeons. Somewhere along the way Duke found one small mold spot. Unlike everything else in the building, it was not funny. Gonzo looked at it, then at Duke. “So?” “So we may be leaving sooner than planned.” The casino kept spinning. For once, they had an exit strategy. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ "The Circus-Circus is what the whole hep world would be doing Saturday night if the Nazis had won the war." — Raoul Duke __________________________________________________________________________________________________________ *OOC – Grow Notes* - Aphids on leaves + stems, sugar leaves mostly clean. - One small mold spot. - Harvest possible anytime. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________

TruTraTri _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ****HARVEST***** Bad weather incoming, aphids everywhere and mold already present... She was supposed to come down this week, but got a few extra days. Very early, very cold.. so not many but bad pictures😂 Next update: Harvest and the end of the trip. 💚 _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Week 25 – The House Always Wins The suite looked robbed. So did the plant. Gonzo stared at her for a while. “Where are the buds?” Duke flicked an aphid off a stem. “The locals got there first.” There were enough of them now to qualify for convention rates. Leaves came off by the handful while the supposed harvest remained mostly a vast collection of popcorn with a few small tops pretending to be important. Gonzo opened the curtains. Bad weather was coming. “So we leave?” Duke looked at the plant, the mold spot, and the army still feeding on both. “Soon.” Vegas had finally found a way to win without a casino. ______________________________________________________________________________________________ "I hate to say this, but this place is getting to me. Big respect for pushing through and bringing this outdoor cycle across the finish line despite the cold, the aphids, and the late-season pressure, TruTraTri. Managing those weather hurdles outdoors is never easy, but your perseverance really shows in the diary. Enjoy the reward of your hard work, and we hope you pull some fantastic, sparkly hash and rosin out of this harvest! Kannabia Team 🧡

@Condocannibus, thx. 💚 I really need some pity after this "harvest". Not because of the plant or small buds. Would've been fine to cut the off with a bit larf.... but the aphids.. at some point I felt like an epic slayer with aphid blood running down my mighty scissor blades 😂 Had to switch my sound from Reggae to Metalcore during trimming😜 If bubble hash wasn't such a pain in the a** I could've just washed everything away 😪 I really need some harvest cooperation.. I would give probably 25% - 40% for a harvest service 😅 Aaaaanyway... it's not as bad as it looks. It's outdoor so it's smaller, fluffier and with at least one mold spot ... always. I hope for a good hash or rosin quality, everything I kept (even if very small) is glittering.

Just this week and then harvest, because the aphids have left the sinking ship? The privacy fence could be a bit higher. 😂 But it looks nice, your Christmas tree.
TruTraTri
TruTraTri commented5d ago
@birdmountain, actually a good idea 😂 Similar to last year.. I'm still convinced it was too cold for the mold 😜 Yeah, the scissors were already sharpened so I can bring everything in, but the other stuff has been drying for over 2 weeks and isn't getting dry, so I don't have space in the nets and I can't hang them up completely because they have some mold spots on the branches. So it's actually good that it's so skinny, at least the mold isn't coming invisibly from the inside ;-).. but yeah, I'm sitting here trying to make some space.. then it's gone right away^^

TruTraTri commented1mo ago
@Kushycat, there's nothing left of Lametta.. there used to be more. Really not.. if you're talking about the earth hooks.. I don't have any training material left 😂 All the Velcro cable ties and plastic clips are in use. Earth hooks in the air was a last resort, but I think I'll take that for indoor ^^ it's really fun, but unfortunately, those were sold out too ;-) As it looks, it's going to take a long time, so it probably won't work out with the sun even with the best wishes 😘😎 A bit annoying, I wanted another Sunset Sherbert because the last one was so intense in smell and taste... but I didn't want the genetics outdoor, so this "almost" came at the right time. Unfortunately, it's the slowest of all the genetics I have... regardless of pot size, location 😩😖 That's extremely frustrating. Maybe faster than a normal sunset or it was just that one stupid seed (it also took longer than 10 days to hatch). On top of that, it's now way too bushy for my mold risk and late year 😩 Well.. I guess I have to hope for small airy buds.
Kushycat
Kushycat commented1mo ago
@TruTraTri, Hmm yeah, that’s annoying. I also noticed that with my Strawberry Blue. It only started about 2 weeks ago, even though it’s labeled as Early. You can really see and feel the Sativa influence. So the question is whether it’s due to the pheno or the strain itself. My thought now is to focus on Fast/Early in the summer in the future, but with a maximum of 40% Sativa content as a hybrid or just pure Indica genetics. Just looking at the growth – and because it really has grown quite large – I would also suspect a high Sativa content with the Sherbet. So let’s pray together to Shiva or Ganjaesha or the holy Biblumm that everything goes well for our late growers. 😂 If necessary, I’ll take a lamp out of the tent or squeeze it in before it breaks. I also have an ace up my sleeve, at least against bud rot etc., and it’s called Dailynex. It’s available from various companies under different names: https://dailynex.de/pflanzenzucht/ But that’s off-label use. However, I’ve read about people who spray it preventively on the plants, and it apparently doesn’t harm them, but helps successfully with a biofilm. No chemicals or anything, and I haven’t applied it directly to the plants myself yet. But I will spray a bit on the lower leaves of my Medical-Mass in the next few days and observe. I’ll let you know if it dies or if everything is fine. 😅 If everything is good, the others will also get a misting. Next week it’s supposed to get colder. No rain, but I’m starting to shiver. 😂 So, enough letter writing here. But it’s nice to write again!
TruTraTri
TruTraTri commented1mo ago
@Kushycat, I always like to write a lot ;-) and I read a lot too 😹 So bring it on! So my thought this year was 3 fast ones (2fast+frisian dew) and 3 "normal" ones. Then I wanted to harvest the three, the other three would then go into stretch, and there's plenty of space, and it doesn't look so massive... Damn it! 😂 Yeah, the prayers help... I already sent one to @Irrai against storms and hail... at least so far no hail 😋 So, as a precaution, I sprayed Neem in w4 for the Autos because the soil was messed up. But for flowering, never ever... I already get nervous with fog and rain... I wouldn't dare to put anything on them. Mhm, generally speaking... many say not to spray anything on buds... but I'll take a look and form my own opinion ;-) So the innovative thing seems to be hypochlorous acid... I’d say you can also use hydrogen peroxide (or mix it yourself). Successfully using biofilm is extremely helpful for pipes and industry/pharma. But with plants, living beings... my GUT?!?!(I don't know why I’m writing that in, but so much for gut cleanses or sending valuable cultures into the gut)😂 I would strongly advise against deliberately destroying or disrupting biofilms. I don’t have any experiments on that, but for example, with deodorant, if you use it constantly, you don’t smell because you kill everything and have no biofilm... but as soon as you stop using it, you smell because, unfortunately, the ones you don’t want love to take advantage of the gaps. So, meow meow meow... and if you spray it on the leaves, it won’t help anyway^^. Another point, if it’s supposed to help against biofilm (even prevent it), you have to either passivate the surface chemically/biologically or structurally rework it (coating, nanostructures, for example). So similar to other cleaning methods... it probably helps, but I’d say it’s overkill, and in an emergency, you’re just opening the door for the bad stuff! The outlook... yeah... for cannabis, I think this year was way too good 😂 at least as long as there was enough water. At some point, it has to go bad. It’s really unfair of nature that when I want my buds to be fat, the shadows fall so that no sun comes anymore and the weather is just crap. I’d rather have bad weather during veg and nice little ones ;-) Mhm, with a sativa influence, that could be, it’s quite a hefty one (not that it’s "big"), but yeah... with seed experiments, you never know what you’re gonna get 😌 In the end, for me, everything is hybrid anyway, the Sunset is supposed to have more indica (I checked quickly). With genetics... no idea, it’s all an experiment... buuuut... whether Fast or not... Zkittlez always rocks 😂 Frisian Dew was also high on my list for a long time... and I have to say I’m not disappointed. It’s nice in flowering, a bit faster than the Zkittlez stuff and a bit slower than the Zkittlez Fast. I only made one seed again, but I’d say the Frisian Dew are also genetically "older"/more stable?! At the latest, when my 3 remaining ones are up to date, I’ll check out what your spraying is doing... probably some kind of liquid crack... no mold and people want it again and again 😜 But I’ve already peeked. You didn’t manage to get to 3 meters with that one concerningly over-trained and too big one 😆

TruTraTri
TruTraTri commented1mo ago
@Condocannibus, Yeah, I’m pretty positive about that. 😅 I still have hopes that, even if she isn’t early, she somehow gets really fast at some point. 😎 Well, not too much hope anymore… 😅 In any case, up until now everything has survived somehow... it’s just a question of how much light she gets during the finishing/bulking stage. 😅 Also, probably a bad idea not to plant a “normal” Sunset Sherbet next to the Fast version. It doesn’t really help if I’m annoyed that she’s slower than the others when I have no non-Fast one to compare her to. 😅 I was pretty sure a “regular timed” Sunset Sherbet wouldn’t finish in time anyway in my region, so I thought I could spare me an indoor run with a sunset sherbet genetic. 😅So fingers crossed it works out somehow. Thx for really reading and interpretation/thought.. I believed I wasn't too obvious about the eventually finish between all these words and sentences I used in the diary. 😹💚
