@Kushycat, Hi, that’s a great point. In my other grow diaries—both recent and older—I’ve used techniques like Topping, LST, Mainlining, and HST, but I also let plants grow naturally into that beautiful pine-tree shape. And to be honest... the plants that yield the best results are the ones that don't get any training at all, aside from some light defoliation. 🌲🌲🌲👌? The types of pruning and mainlining used on the plants significantly reduce the final yield, as they remove the main apex and cause shock, consuming energy and recovery time for healing and hormonal reorganization, when you opt for drastic pruning, you are essentially sacrificing the plant's natural energy efficiency in exchange for structural control. So, I prefer not to prune or use HST, but that technique yielded the best results in my previous grows. It wasn't as aggressive back then because my other grow space had decent headroom, but this one is way too low, so unfortunately, only trained plants work here. Take a look at my recent Mimosa and Garlotti crops—I used HST on those too. ✌️

@Bncgrower, The original shape is usually really nice, but depending on the plant, it can be quite difficult to manage, as you already mentioned yourself. Sure, pruning is always stressful for the plant in the end. I had a long veg phase this time, so I wanted to keep them relatively small since I already knew they would take up quite a bit of space. In the future, if my veg phase isn’t as long, I’ll probably use LST again too. I did that during my first run, and I actually prefer that method as well—just like you do. Have you ever thought about getting a taller tent? xD
