Strawberry Craze

Hell_Money Still on a smaller side for being almost at week 3, so I decided to plant a Strawberry Cheesecake seed that's yet to break out from the soil - just in case. Hate growing in the summer

Hell_Money We're at the beginning of week 3, and things are starting to pick up! Tonight I'll start with the Alga Grow, we'll see how the youngin reacts. I was thinking about getting some Fish Force, but I honestly dread visiting my local grow shop - the guys who manage it are always out for coffee break. The Banana Cheesecake is almost out of the soil, I'll probably create a different diary for that one. See you at the end of the week! End of week update Started some LST, it's been ages since the last time I've done it and I just wanted to try my hand at it again. Temperatures have reached their peak, or so they say - in my region a record of 50°C was registered, so let's just say I'm just glad every living being in my house is still living!

Hell_Money Growth has been slow, but steady - I also found a way to keep temperatures inside the tent under 35°C, which is probably helping a bit. According to forecasts, these are the last days of unbearable heat, so let's hope the last weeks of veg are going to be nicer to this little guy!

Hell_Money So, 1st day of week 5 and everything was looking good - growth was good, finally showing the smallest pre-flowers... And then, while doing some defoliation and getting rid of the smaller, weaker branches, I decided to bend the top some more, and - snap! I was thinking about trying topping in the near future, but it looks like it will happen sooner than later. The stem is almost completely broken - I tried to mend it, but I don't have much faith. Between this and not being able to get a seed to sprout from soil, I'm starting to believe by ex cursed me, and this is the result 😒 JK, I know it's mostly and issue of temperatures and not being able to keep my hands to myself, but I'll keep eradicating his traces from my spaces all the same 🍀 Day after update Well, this one is a fighter, let me tell you this! A few hours after the accident I changed the first "bandage" with a less invasive, but sturdier one. Today she seems quite fine, with only a fan leaf looking quite stressed, so I decided to just get rid of that one. We'll see how she does over the next few days 🌚

Hell_Money Last week of veg, we're finally here! The not-so-young lady survived quite well after being almost decapitated, even though it didn't get much taller - not an issue, since I don't really care about it growing in height. Switched to Alga Bloom just yesterday, she'll probably stretch over the week and hopefully will get into full flowering mode soon. Temps will still be on the higher side, but should start getting lower by the middle of the month. Also eliminated secondary branches that were forming in the main branches and some foliage.

Hell_Money All is well under the (artificial) sun 🌞 The Strawberry is stretching and growing side branches like crazy, as crazy as I'm becoming trying to get rid of all of them - I kind of hate the post-harvest clean (who doesn't?) so I'm trying to avoid future, time-consuming pop corn buds. The smell is already getting stronger, even though flowering is just at the beginning. See you next week 👽

Hell_Money Flowering is in full mode and stretching is slowing down, I'm keeping defoliation to a minimum for now because, well, I just can't be bothered with it :) There's nothing much to say, honestly - so have a good week, people! 🐒

Hell_Money Hello week 9 👽 I started with the Green Sensation like 2 days ago - if I remember correctly, directions on the bottle indicate to start with it a little later than this, but I'm an impatient asshole and I always start when I see some stacking. This is the point where I usually get bored with growing, because it's quite the repetitive routine and I have nothing much to do but wait. Well, there are worst things in life ? Hell_Money Hi good people! The lady is doing just fine, filling up spaces with nice little flowers. I usually harvest at the 12th week because of stash reasons - I would love to wait a bit more with this one, but melatonin doesn't really help me much, so we'll see 🤷🏻‍♀️ For now we're still at week 10, she's in full bloom and the smell is starting to bleed out from the tent, when the extractor is off. Nothing much to report, so have a good week and see you the next! 🌈

Hell_Money Week 11 - the finish line is in sight 🏁 Pistils are turning orange en masse and resin is pouring from the flowers - I think I'll discard my initial intention of letting this Strawberry Banana go longer than the 12 weeks I usually wait and stick by the usual schedule, since it looks like she's starting to foxtail a bit. Understandable, given that temperatures inside the tent are still hovering around 30°C 🌞 I must confess I've already cut and tried some of the lower buds over the week - taste and smell were not the best, since they were not really that ready yet and I've only let them dry for 24 hours, but I must say that they got the job done, so I'm looking forward to try the finished, properly dried and cured product. This might be the last week of diary before harvest - it almost makes me emotional 😬 See you all next week for the final page of this adventure 🤟🏻

Hell_Money What else to say - I wanted to try and harvest this one later than the 12th week, but the foxtailing was getting so prominent that I really found no use in that. Also, the tops were getting so heavy that the branches were starting to sway and bend, so I just decided to put her out of her misery 😬
