Ocean Grown Cookies!!! This strain sounds like its going to be a great grow and turn into an awesome 🚬 .. as long as I can keep her healthy 😁😮
I ran out of reservoirs, so rather than buy a new one for only a few days, I decided to make 1 out of a 2.5 Gallon water jug. I cut a hole in the top, covered it in mylar to stop light from getting in, and ran 1 airstone into the jug. It wasn't perfect, but it worked and I now have her in a 2 gallon reservoir.
My goals for this grow. not completely sure yet haha. I've seen this strain can stretch pretty well, so I want to keep her under 12" before flowering.
Probably will do a 35-40 day veg, Top during week 3 veg, and use Low Stress Training throughout the grow.
She started off a little slow, but seems to be hitting her stride now. I had my airstone to close the starter plug so she got a little overwatered.
I moved her from the 2.5 gallon jug into a 2 gallon reservoir and managed my light distances. I added a straw to the stem to provide her with a little support. she was getting a little leggy and leaning. My light distance was a bit high, so I adjusted and she responded well.
This week was a little rough for her. I added another plant to my veg room, turned on an additional light and increased the temperatures in my closet from 75-77F to 84-85F. I saw some curling of the leaves and she was droopy, like overwatering symptoms. I raised the light ~7 inches over a few days and turned off the extra light. Temperatures dropped and she looks much happier. Think it was a combination of light too close and the heat.
I didn't top this week because she wasn't the happiest and didn't want to put her under extra stress. Once she perks up, I will top at the 5th node and remove the bottom 2 arms, to give me 8 main branches (Nodes 2, 3, 4, and 5) to train to prepare for flower.
I gave her a good first dosage of nutrients this week and will keep this amount probably through veg, depending on how she feeds of course!
Another week down. This week she had some pretty solid growth. I am very happy with how thick the stems are getting and some of the fan leaves are really large. I think she is going to become a pretty big plant. I will keep her in veg for probably another 2 weeks to give my flower tent time to finish up and give it a good cleaning. The white on the leaves is from bleaching. I must have dropped some nutrient water on the leaf and not wiped it off all the way. The PH has stayed pretty stable. I am letting her go down to 5.6ish and I try to bring her up to 6.0 and let her feed within that range. I try not to manipulate the PH everyday, but let her feed and range naturally.
Veg Stats: 11" tall, 50 days old (44 days Veg and 6 days of germination). My veg room got hot a couple days weeks 3-4 of veg and she didn't seem to like that much (82-84). She handled topping and defoliation pretty well. I beat her up after she got the thrips and she looked a bit stressed but pushed through fine! I gave her 1 more week than originally planned because of the thrips, but I am glad I gave her the extra week because it gave her more time to recover from the lolipopping and defoliation during week 6 of Veg.
She is starting to pick up nicely. She only measured 1 inch taller, but she gained a bit of width. I am a bit overdue on my reservoir change, but I will do one tomorrow (F8) to switch to bloom nutrients. I will do a defoliation late week 2, early week 3 depending on the size and how she looks.
This was a nice week for growth. I defoliated on F14. She was growing really dense and thick, and I wanted to remove more now so I don't have to defoliate again. I am nervous and always have the questions: Did I remove too much and now my yield will suck? or Did I remove enough so I don't have to pull any more later?
She shot up another 3-4 inches this week. Hopefully the stretch is just about over. The defoliation didn't seem to slow her down as her bud sites continued to develop through the week.
I was able to remove my Alien OG, so now she has her own Quantum board, set at around 200 watts. The other quantum board is set to around 175 watts. I raised the lights 4 inches to keep up with the growth and maintain light distance, especially now she is directly under the light. I am seeing some signs of light burn, but it may have been from water spots. With the light at 28" and at a low temp (72-75), I shouldn't have any more issues.
A nice week for bud growth. I didn't do a reservoir change until Day7 of this week, but I kept refreshing the nutrients to manage the PPMs and PH level. She seems to responding well, good growth and no real deficiencies that I can see. I am going to keep the nutrients around 450-500 over the next week (Week 6) and see how she responds. I am planning on a harvest around F60-65 according to breeder timeline and how she is looking so far, still way to early to know for sure.
She has been drinking a lot the last week.. probably close to a gallon a day. I have been replacing the water with a nutrient mix depending on how she looked and was feeding. I was able to help keep the PPMs and feed where I wanted it. My goal was to keep the PPMs in between 475-500 this week and she was about there.
This girl is allllmmmooooossstttt there. Breeder harvest timeline is 55-65 days.. I think this plant is going to be closer to 62-65. I haven't looked at the trichomes yet because the pistils haven't really started to curl yet, so she still has a bit more to go before I start to get harvest in my mind haha. I always wait to check the trichomes because it becomes an addiction and I molest the plants too much. I love looking at the trichomes. I was having PH drop issues with my other plant and really tried to focus on the PH and how it changed daily on this girl and I have been happy with the stability of the PH. I will reduce the feed next week to about 3.75ml/gal bloom and reduce the micros to keep a good ratio.
Just a few days left. I started my flush on F55 and plan to harvest F59-61. I started to see some amber trichomes on F53, so she is ripening a little faster than I anticipated. If she had a little longer to go I would have liked to do the flush a little better, meaning: change the reservoir, give her a light feed of 1-2ml/gal for a day or two then start the flush, but this should be fine. She was starting to lean a bit, so I tied her up and some of the smaller nodes are falling down, so I tied them to some of the larger arms. She has a very nice lemon/pine smell. Fresh smelling... just a beautiful scent.
