AUTO MALAWI X N.LIGHTS

GreenHobbit Week 0 – The Start of a New Adventure 🌱 While my Laughing Buddha starts its flowering in the 120×120 tent, the next project is already kicking off in the heating cellar. This time, I want to document three extraordinary autoflowering genetics independently. Each plant will have its own diary, so we can track their development week by week. Kicking things off is the Auto Malawi × Northern Lights from ACE Seeds. Why this strain in particular? ACE Seeds has an excellent reputation among lovers of sativa-dominant genetics. The combination of the legendary Malawi and the tried-and-true Northern Lights immediately piqued my interest. I'm curious to see how the strength, vitality, and structure of this cross will develop. My goal is to let the plant grow with as little intervention as possible and to learn about its natural characteristics. The Setup The three autos are growing together in a 70 × 70 cm tent in the heating cellar. For the seedling phase, I'm using a Secret Jardin 26 W. With the help of a PPFD sensor, I measured the lamp accurately for the first time and set it to a distance of 25 cm. This gives the seedlings around 160 µmol/m²/s – a value that is ideal for the first few days. At the moment, they are growing in 0.5-liter pots. As soon as the new 15-liter fabric pots arrive, they will be moved to their final containers. Germination The germination went smoothly. The Auto Malawi × Northern Lights was the first of the three plants to show its taproot and then broke through the soil surface first. A successful start to this new project. Current Status The cotyledons have already opened, and the plant looks healthy, compact, and vigorous. Thanks to the optimized light intensity and high humidity during the germination phase, the conditions for a strong start are looking very good.
