Stony_German Tag 0 Yolo run This grow is just for fun. It’s probably unlikely that I will finish this grow. But once a grower, always a grower. The move of the grow area is delayed by problems with the renovation and construction measures by a whole 4 weeks or even 6. That would mean no grow for 6-8 weeks. I can’t accept that😊😉. The 0.5-liter Solo cups were filled with Canna Terra Professional + 10% Perlite extra mix and watered with 100ml root booster and Dynomyco Spark. This way, the soil can slowly soak up and create a comfortable home for the new seeds with a homogeneous moisture. I haven’t used the paper towel method for germination in a long time. So let’s do that this time. The seeds were placed on damp (not wet) tissues, covered with another damp tissue, and then everything went into a zip bag that was sealed. I placed the bag in the old wardrobe on the top shelf where it’s a nice 25-26 Celsius. There’s enough oxygen in the bag for the next 36-48 hours until the germinated seeds go into the pre-moistened Solo cups. Choosing the genetics was very difficult since I probably won’t be able to finish the grow. But more crap can always happen, so I went with the Iced Wildberry from Robin Hood Seeds (Banana Buttercups x Purple Punch) and a backup seed, a true old-school classic: the original Bubblegum from Serious Seeds. The first original Indiana Bubblegum cut that came to Europe. I have 6 seeds of both strains, so it hurts less if I have to throw the ladies away. Anyone who wants to join us on this journey is warmly invited. I will, as always, try to grow a beauty, no matter which of the two it will be in the end.😊 Update after 20 hours. The pictures are 20 hours after the seeds were placed in the wet tissue. A very nice root size for such a short time. For about 5 years, I’ve kept my seeds in a glass of water for 36 hours and then potted them. All those years before, this paper towel method was my favorite germination. I will observe the next few grows more closely to see if the future seeds also develop faster than in the shot glass germination. I’m surprised myself. Over the years, I’ve let too much convenience creep in. You can see that in the first grows I showed here. Also, thanks to the many positive feedbacks, I thought I could do much better, so I will observe this and possibly do it again in the future. Since I forgot to sprinkle Dynomyco into the planting hole, I put it on top of the seeds and watered it with the pipette (about 10ml) with a bit of Rhizotonic from Canna.

Stony_German Tag 1 Veg: As always, after 7 days of the seeds having their first contact with water, we start with the vegetation days. They are a bit too stretchy for my liking, but I didn't expect them to be this far out of the soil after just 4 days and already needing light. I was a bit stressed with work and renovation that I only put them on the sunniest side of the windowsill on the 5th day. Just yesterday I had time to take care of them and bring the LED up from the basement and hang it up. Now they are getting their "sunlight" from the Veg LED. It's all good; I gave them a support just in case, as they could tip over when they open their cotyledon leaves. A light breeze is finally coming in to make them more stable. I'm just putting in the effort, even though they probably won't make it into my jars. I wish all visitors and friends who follow my grows a nice weekend.

Stony_German Tag 7 veg Transplant into 8 liters I usually prefer to transplant after 10 days, but I have a lot to do next week and my grow buddy "greenGlasses" needs the rest of my 25L bag of soil, which I'll visit later for a smoke. He has 50L + 10L perlite, but that's not enough for 3 x 20L pots. In my experience, you need about 75-80L. As always, mycorrhizal fungi and bacteria went into the planting hole, and I also added Dynomyco Spark with the 1.6L of watering. Rhizotonic, Cannazym, and Mono-Silica as well. Since it got a bit leggy, I just planted it a little deeper during the transplanting. I have height restrictions anyway, so why not? It has no negative effects at all. Good tip for beginners whose seedlings got a bit too tall. For me, it was the unexpectedly fast germination and giving light 12 hours too late. The Bubblegum is a bit weak and will probably be sorted out in the coming days; I'm just keeping it alive for observation. I'll see how it handles an earlier and slightly higher dose of nutrients. I plan to water with an EC of 1.3 just to see how it copes with that. Normally, I never go above EC 1.1 at this early stage. So let's experiment a bit and learn. Even after so many years, you never stop learning. I wish you all a nice weekend with great weather, healthy plants, and lots of terps.

Stony_German Tag 15 Veg and 22 days since the seeds had water contact The Iced Wildberry (Banana Buttercups x Purple Punch) is in its final home in the 40x40 tent after the Orange Creampop is now in the dark and looks beautiful. Perfect formation of side branches, no mutations, and very fast growth despite uncontrolled humidity. It was all between 25% and 75%. I had them in the big tent without a fan. Only the Veg LED and the fan were the used techniques. No air humidification or VPD control. With some experience, and if everything else is right, it can be done without all the tech. It might have been a few days further along if everything had been perfectly set up. I will try to finish this beauty, so hope is there, but it will be difficult. Interesting how you can slow down the grow by not transplanting or doing it too late. The little Bubblegum is the same age and was under the same conditions and was well-watered. Only the larger substrate volume shows how you can slow down your grow. Nice to see for everyone with less experience; I specifically included this photo to make it visible. So don’t be lazy and transplant earlier. I’ll leave it standing to observe further. Such little experiments help understand this plant, and as I’ve always said, you learn with every new grow. I appreciate all the great messages you write to me, and it motivates me to make these reports and photos. Great if it helps someone else too. I wish you all a nice Sunday evening.

Stony_German Tag 21 Veg: Topping & Start v. LST The young lady was topped a few days ago and is spreading out beautifully. There's a very nice side branch development that will create a lovely canopy. These next 14 days will be crucial to shape her so that the very small 40x40 yields the best possible results. Of course, we don't know how the stretch will turn out, but based on my research, it should be manageable. She's drinking well and growing quickly, reaching for the light despite the good and more than sufficient 380 - 400 PPFD. She has no purple stems and zero signs of deficiency. That shows me she's very, very happy. When rubbing the branches, there's a very interesting smell that's impossible to describe. No citrus. Reminds me of the GRC x BBC, but we'll see. Perfectly taken care of, both through the substrate and with silica as a leaf spray along with extra BioTabs BoomBoom Spray. That's it for this week, Growmies! Wishing all visitors a great weekend and happy plants as well as full jars! 😊

Stony_German Tag 28 veg Vacation Update We are in the Swabian Caribbean (Lake Constance) and my grow bro has been taking wonderful care of this little beauty for a week now. I got the photos this morning and they are from yesterday. He has defoliated her a bit and prepared her for the flowering stage. She will be sent into bloom at the latest on Monday when we are back home. You can see where he got his grow skills from. 😁😊 About 15 years ago, he decided to become a grower and I have to admit he had a green thumb from the start. He is also the only one I trust with my ladies and he has never disappointed me. The Vcure is also drying the Orange Creampop until our return and I’m already looking forward to the test doobie. Unfortunately, I can't write more about last week, but he knows what he's doing, you can see that. Thanks a lot, buddy. I wish you all a nice weekend and sorry that I haven't been active here on GD much in the last 10 days. I'll check out all the grows when I'm back.

Stony_German Tag 5 Blossom Stretch, Hope, and Gray Hair we are back from our week trip. 5 days ago, the pretty one was slightly defoliated and the side shoots were trained outward with plant wire. Of course, in the last 5 days, everything has grown back, and you can't even see that anything was removed from her. However, I don't want to stress her during this phase to avoid causing any hermaphroditism. On day 21, a heavy lollipopping will be carried out. She looks top healthy and feels very comfortable in this muggy summer time. She drinks 1 liter of pH-6.2 adjusted water daily with an EC-0.4. Now it’s time to smoke first before the tent is opened 😁. The stretch begins and the battle with height stretching starts again. To keep the day/night difference as close as possible, the dehumidifier runs from light off to light on. The warm exhaust reduces the temperature drop in the cooler nights, which slows down the stretch. Additionally, I water only an hour after the light turns on and allow her a dry back before the warmed leaf temperature triggers the strongest growth spurt in the morning. I have never had this genetics before, but it should not cause any problems now, though you can never be sure. I check on the grows I follow whenever family and work allow. Please don’t be mad if I don’t see your grow until later. Wishing everyone a nice weekend and happy plants.

Stony_German Tag 13 Flower Stretch😨 We are in the middle of the stretch and it could get tight. However, she has already started to stack and the well-known zigzag of the shoots is further along than one would expect for 13 days of flowering, which gives me hope that she won't gain much more height. She feels very comfortable and is in perfect health. No purple streaks on the side shoots. All nutrients are available in sufficient amounts. The soil life is doing its job and I love this growth form. The smell when you remove a leaf here and there is very intense but still hard to describe. Definitely no citrus like with Super Boof, Orange Creampop which had that citrus very early on. I can already recognize those Banana Buttercups vibes. I love this genetics and have had some crosses in the garden. I'm glad you can already perceive them. And as a little glimmer of hope, BBC always brings extreme frost and potency, so fingers crossed. Now to the measures that will take place this week. Stretch control as best as possible. That means drybacks and increasing the night temps by turning on the dehumidifier that blows into the small opening of the tent and the exhaust sucks in that warmed air. It raises the temps by +3 Celsius. So the night temp is even 1-2 Celsius higher than when the lights are on. Bud clips will also be used and a slightly earlier lollipopping. I'm thinking around day 16 or 17 of flowering. Since she will have to handle the stress first, it slows her down a bit in height growth. I will also give her 11 hours of light for a few days. Just little things, but there's not much more that can be done. I want to apologize for not having time last week to check out other grows here on GD and to answer all the DMs. I'm fully in renovation mode and after work, there's so much to do. Even the kids are happy when I find some time. And thank you very much for the invitation to the cup, but unfortunately, I can't drive that far and stay for those 2 days. Maybe it will work out next year, guys. Wishing you all a nice weekend and healthy, happy plants.

@GanjaGecko, Banana Buttercups sollt Frost garantieren.

I'm a fan of this lady, strong bones and a stable frame. Super structure.... she definitely has what it takes to be a big impressive plant. (I would love to see her grow in a huge space or outdoors..... she's already impressive as she is-
