It’s a new start with Fat Banana plant. I’m so curious to grow this strain. It is a first outdoor grow with a photoperiod dependant plant.
The first week she’ll be given just love and pH controlled water to pH 5.8. The seed germinated in just 24 hours in a watered paper towel that was kept in the dark.
I’ll make a safety net around the pot because of our cat, she’s in love with weed’s leafs 😂
It’s Fat Banana’s third week and she’s doing just fine. As expected she’s a slow grower at the beginning since we don’t have a direct sun for more than few hours per day.
I’ve been watering her with only pure pH controlled water set to 5.7.
Nothing really new to report this week. She’s showing slight signs of deficiencies but I think that is caused due to the fact I’m using the coco medium that had been previously used for another grow.
Happy growing everyone 💪😋
We’re doing slowly but steadily 😂 It’s just an experiment to see what can be grown from the balcony. I’ll start adding growing nutrients this week and see how it goes😊
Sorry guy's I haven't posted any updates for a couple of weeks but my kitten managed to jump through a safety net and almost killed Fat Banana 😭
I put her now on the outer side of the balcony to fully recover and even managed to top her.
Since I had a severe Calcium and Magnesium deficiency I gave her CalMag additives which helped amazingly.
I believe she will fully recover and become a beautiful plant. The weather's been really sunny and warm.
I had also problem with spider mites and been giving her a local tea mixture combination in a spray form.
Having my fingers crossed😀
As I expected Fat Banana has fully recovered during the week.
We had plenty of sun with almost no rain and so the growth has beer really vigorous,
I hope she stays in veg stage for few more weeks to get some height and width.
Thanks everybody for stopping by and all the comments 👌😀
It's been three weeks now from she's recovering from near death experience by a kitty.
She's growing now vigorously on the balcony and I'm really looking forward what comes out of her.
Hope to see her staying in vegetative stage just a little more. Probably I will have to move her inside the balcony just not to be to obvious to the outside world😀
This week Fat banana started flowering, plenty bud sites are appearing along the colas which means she'll be a good yielder.😇
The weather prognosis is not good for the next week. Our region will be covered in clouds and several showers will cause the temperatures to fall down quite dramatically.
Anyways, she's really healthy plant, with very stable branches and healthy leaves.
I had to move her inside because she's now too big and it can be easily spotted by neighbors which I want to avoid.
Also I started adding flowering nutrients to speed up the bug growth.
I have 9 seeds left and definitely give an indoor try next round.
Have a nice weekend everyone, thanks for stopping by.
Please leave some comments and have a nice grow till next time 😀👌
Balcony fat banana has been flowering for two week now. I wish the weather was sunnier but I take it as an experiment to see if photoperiod dependent strain can be grown in an interior balcony.
She was growing on the outer part for few weeks but become to big and easy target to be spotted, so for security reason she's now an indoor plant getting all the energy for growth thru a natural light.
I really like the shape of her, I only topped her once but it was a really nice job. She's got few nice branches that are already covered in small buds.
Hopefully there is still enough time for the buds to get properly developed as the days are getting shorter.
The smell is really mild but the first weed scent are already appearing.
The weather prognosis is good for next week so I have my fingers crossed it stays like that.
Thanks everybody for stopping by and happy growing 😻
I haven't been updating the diary for so long which is a shame 😞
The growth has been slow as there is not enough light on the balcony but… The plant managed to produce some nice buds.
She was almost killed during her growth by the cats - they just love the leaves, at least I didn't have to make any defolliation on my own 😋
Since it is november, temperatures are quite low as well as the weather prognosis is bad for next week I decided to start flushing her and I'll harvest her in a week or so.
I haven't expected much from the grow but I believe it's going to be a great strain - the smell is amazing - lemonish with a fruity scent. The buds are super sticky.
I'll have a next banana round it the new tent with upgraded light - so excited to start.
The next update will be the harvest week with a full report.
Thank you for stopping by and have a great one until next one!😃
I simply love it! I grew only one plant on the balcony in the internal part behind the windows and she came out really nicely. It was more as an experiment this time as I couldn't expect much from an "outdoor" grow.
After two months of curing she smells amazing with a really strong smell and aroma. If I have to choose from two tastes I'd put diesel and lemon. Indeed there is a scent of a banana.
Growing her was easy, I had problems with mites when she was few weeks old but I got rid of them by spraying her with organic tea-mixture. Just before I wanted to top her my kitty almost destroyed her but the took over and survived.
Smoking:
Super strong, feeling like a knock down hit by a hammer. A great strain for a night to make you feel sleepy.
I still have remaining seeds and for sure she's a favourite for next indoor round!
This was a test grow that came out outstanding. Be sure I'll grow this strain again.
Thanks everybody to be following me, feel free to ask me a question and see you around!😀
Hi, your Pets are always near the PLants too=?... My big boi waits in frot of the tent to get some yummy leaves. Happy growing. But pls let them grow theyve just bgun to flower.... buds will be 4 times bigger
@Mrs_Larimar, actually I’ve been growing just for a year so I’m still learning and never grown on the balcony and just deiced to give it a try 😂 And... haven’t been updating this growth☹️🤥 I will take her out soon, it’s not that bad still, considering she would need much more light hours per day😊 yeah, halloween’s over so I’ll be focusing more on the grow tent 🏕️ .. Thank you for stopping by 🙏
@ReinDeer,ah ok got you.... well she should be ready after 10 weeks^^ and before mold gets her.. take her down. I thought she was in week 6 or so....... and well telling from 4 times bigger was alittle euphoric^^... if shes 10 week in flower everything is fine , you are an experienced grower... and know your weed. I wa to fst and overseen its abalcony grow...
For me latsest day for outdoor is always the 31. october.. and thats for " spiritual reasons" lool. Aftr helloween evrything outdoors belongs to the ghosts....
@Mrs_Larimar, Hi 😊 They just love weed leaves, especially the cats.. Actually, bananna has probably been flowering for some 10 weeks but I’m not sure what to do now ☹️ Days in northern Europe are getting shorter and I’m not sure she’ll have a chance to produce proper buds.. What do you think?
Just a few perception:
1. Add a Calcium or CalMag to poor plant (light spots on the leaf).
2. Watering more water(with 20-30% drain).
3. Cover the top of the coco with something, it dries too quickly.
4. Feed this plant with COCO nutrients(Canna COCO AB), Rhizotonic just a supplement.
Good luck!
@ReinDeer, you're welcome. But I would improve the first point, your plant have thrips. Unfortunately they like a dry, warm weather, but "curable".
Good luck!
@GonZo888, thank you very much for the help👌I’m using Canna COCO A&B, rhyzotonic and cannazym at this stage but not adding additional Ca and Mg. I haven’t been adding CalMag before but I really should to prevent the issue asap💪
@Budofpray, I was very lucky to get a camera for free with two additional lenses, flash + other gear. I would suggest to try looking for DSLR for second hand. @Wachsemilian suggested me on buying Sony (alpha 6000-6500 APS-C (not full frame but with the right Lens almost no difference) or better Alpha 7 series). But it all depends from your budget 😕 Hope I helped you a little!
