This one was like a bad draw.
It took me more than a month to get one seed germinate.
First pack I went through was like 2 months ago and then I got a new batch.
That batch wasn't also any good. 😟
I don't have a lot of space to grow so I was using one seed at the time, soaking it for 24h in water,
then in paper towel, and again and again 😂
After going through 3 packs of 3 seeds, total of 7 seeds didn't do anything, only one germinated
(I still got one seed left in a pack).
Well I got this strain for free so you can't argue with free stuff, at least I got this one seed to germinate and sprout.
Yey, 😀 So happy about it as I read a lot about Jack Herer and I wanted to try this strain.
After it sprouted it continued to grow nicely and it looks healthy.
I started to use Easy Grow after 3 days it sprouted.
There is nothing to add for this week as it is just a baby.
We'll see how it goes.
His Royalness continued to grow.
Reaching staggering 7.5cm in the second week of his life.
He came along way since he was a baby.
This week he had RQS Easy Grow for breakfast.
He said he likes it and wants some more.
(I need to keep him in shape but moderately feeding him
and I didn't tell him that RQS Easy Grow was leftover from someone else.
he's gonna be pissed when he finds out 😂)
After breakfast he had nice afternoons with sunshine,
and after a while he doze off into sunset.
He likes his routines and feels comfortable,
so everything stayed the same through out the week.
...
This week I repotted Jack to 14l pot and he grew to a height of 18cm.
He's growing too fast, like he wanted to reach the sky.
He had unusual long stem with no leaves on the bottom side so no branches will every appear there.
It's just a big waste of vertical space so in mid week I tied him down.
He took it like a champ.
His routine stayed the same as previous weeks.
I continued to feed him left overs of RQS Easy Grow from AMG plants.
So far no problems.
...
This week his royalness showed his sex and its a girl. So we should rename her appropriately to Jacky. 😄
She grew really tall so I decided to fim her top and see how it will reflect her growth.
I hope for more branching but nothing spectacular. We'll see.
Feeding stayed the same as last week.
Once a week I feed her with RQS Easy Grow and rest with water.
cya next week...
Her Royalness Jackie got bushy this week.
I know how that sounds. 😁
Fiming her was not a bad idea as the side branches started to grow rapidly.
I'm planing to get her to the height of 30-40cm and keep her there.
This is the last time I'll be giving her RQS Easy Grow as I don't have any more to spare.
I'll switch to Biobizz and start giving her some FishMix and later on Bio Bloom.
cya all next week
This week her Royalness Jacky started forming bud sites to a round ball like shape
and she will be transitioning to flowering phase next week.
She grew few more cm and at the end of the week she was at 40cm height.
Very nice. 👌 I'll be keeping her at that height from now on.
Since I've run out of RQS Easy Grow I switched to BioBizz Fish-Mix for this week to complete vegetative phase.
cya next week.
Nothing spectacular to report.
She continued to grow and develop bud sites.
Yuu can see since last week the buds got fatten.
I plucked one small, undeveloped bud on the bottom side of the branch.
Out of curiosity i tried it and it tasted somewhat lemony. 😋
This week, going slowly with the dosage, I started to give her Bio-Bloom and stopped using Fish,Mix.
Gonna increase it gradually over weeks to follow.
cya next week o/
Growth seems stopped and buds are getting bigger.
I've tied some branches to a pot to allow more sunlight.
This week I introduced molasses into feeding schedule and increased Bio-Bloom to 2ml/l.
Fish-mix was removed from feeding.
cya next week.
Buds fattening continued. They are taking shape now.
The smell is weak atm, kinda earthy.
To be honest, not my favourite smell but perhaps the smoke will be better.
Feeding schedule stayed the same as last week only with the slight increase with Bio-Bloom to 3ml/l.
cya next week. o7
The plant halted it's growth and is full on flower production.
I tied down some branches last time and gonna leave the plant as it is.
Trichome ripeness can already be seen with lots of cloudy ones.
It's quite different than Royal AK. That strain took more time to get to the stage Royal Jack is now.
Strangely the smell is not that strong. That's a positive thing as I don't have to worry about neighbours.
Feeding stayed the same as last week with introduction of MagnifiCal.
cya all next week
Trichome production has increased as can be seen in pictures.
Buds got denser and are getting frostier each day.
Smell of the plant is not that strong. You really need to be close to the bud to get the smell.
Feeding stayed the same as in previous week.
I'm feeding her with 700ml of nutrient solution and between feedings she gets ph whater with molasses.
Once a week I give her CalMag.
cya next week
The plant is in its final weeks.
I believe 2-3 more weeks until harvest time.
Trichomes are still ripening. There are still lots of clear trichomes and new ones are popping out.
The smell has increased a bit since previous weeks but not that much.
There is nothing left to do with the plant but to feed it and watch it ripen.
This week I cut out Fish-Mix from feeding schedule.
Next week I'll be cutting out CalMag and start the flushing with ph water until the harvest.
cya next week
This week I started to flush the plant with pH water and will be doing it till harvest.
Trichomes are slowly ripening.
There are still lots of clear ones so my guess is there is at least 2 weeks of ripening left.
That's about it for this plant, all is left is to watch it ripen.
cya next week.
Another week passed and trichomes are still ripening.
I give it another week before chop-chop.
Something interesting I found when I was taking pictures.
In picture day 95_5, there is white bug that O.D. on trichomes.
I guess it was a bit too much for him, poor fella.
cya next week
At last, harvest week finally came.
Trichomes are at desired ripeness, mostly opaque.
Buds are frosted nicely. It's time for harvest!
What's interesting and a bit strange is that there isn't any smell.
Perhaps the high temps did that in the past few weeks.
Will see if the smell will return after drying.
In this week of flushing I added 2ml/l of Flawless Finish and watered 3 times, every other day.
She was then put in the dark for 2 days before her body was separated.
The hanging was preformed at 19:30 CEST.
His Royalness Jack now hangs, in the dark, contemplating in confusion what just happened.
Humidity in the drying room is not stable, so drying time may vary.
I'm hoping for at least 7 days of drying before curing.
Harvest week will be posted after drying.
From seed to harvest, growing this strain was fun. This was my second autoflower plant I've ever grown.
The yield of 25g is quite nice considering how small the plant was.
Plant was harvested after 15 weeks and hanged for dying. After 7 days of drying they were placed in jars for curing.
It only has passed a week of curing and the smell coming from jars is amazing.
Buds are dense and compact and when opened release nice citrusy smell with sour notes and some other nice scents that I can't recognize.😄
After all that waiting, it's time to try out what I've grown.
Whoa, this took me by surprise. I wasn't expecting something this strong. In comparison with my previous harvest Royal AK, it's much stronger.
The high is energetic at first, relaxing mind high and after few minutes body starts taking weight, nothing heavy that would ground you.
In this mixed effect, creative side kicks in and off you go doing things.
You can chain smoke it, I know I did, but after 3rd joint or so, paranoia effect kicks in.
What's quite funny is what kind of scenarios and situations your subconscious mind conjures up to scare you.😂
If you can handle your paranoia than I'd suggest you go and puff it like there is no tomorrow.
It's very interesting that in this stoned state you're not body locked but instead energized.
Side effects after chain smoking, besides paranoia are dry eyes, but not much as you can watch movies.
I'd suggest to use it in the evenings and late night sessions and don't over do it unless you're ready for a ride.
This strain was quite frustrating to start. Probably it was a bad batch when I went through 9 seeds and only one germinated.
It took me a whole month as I was germinating 2 at the time and waited 7 days for each batch of seeds to show any signs of life.
Month passed, and I really wanted to try out this strain. I had one seed left and this was my last shot. I placed last seed in cup of water to germinate.
Under 24h its shell cracked open with tap root showing. I immediately placed it in a pot.
After all that trouble, it felt like weight was lifted off my shoulders.😅
Plant started with RQS Easy Grow nutrients for it's vegetative phase and through flowering I used Bio Bloom from BioBizz.
She was fed once a week and with pH water every two days.
I FIM the plant in week 4 and did some LST early in veg phase and later in flowering. The plant took all that really well.
From seed to harvest, plant didn't experience any deficiencies or excesses of nutrients.
The only problem was some small bud rot that was removed immediately and it didn't hurt the yield or look of the bud.
Production of trichomes on buds was very high and at the end of flowering they were very long and started to bend.
After it was cut down, it went for 7 days of drying and this is 7th day of curing.
What surprised me when I opened jars was how buds were dense and they smell great.
You can tell day by day how the smell is changing.
This reminds me how wine needs to sit to get desired taste and aroma.
The yield was pretty good. Twice as much from my previous harvest.
Too bad plant only had 6 hours of direct sunlight, otherwise it be much bigger and yielded more.
It's a great strain and will grow it again.
Hey Bro ;-) Congrats with your harvest. As for your germinating problem, really look at my method, can't go wrong that way!
Yeah, you're passed me with the likes! Doing great. Grtz, Budcrack 👊
HI beautiful plant, royal queen is synonymous with safety and quality, I have always been satisfied, I took WEDDINGGELATO; autoflowering cooky, and I must say that the seeds are full of life !!!
nice to meet you💪
@NOLOGIK,
RQS seeds, so far (except one batch) in my case, had 100% germination rate. Every seed I dropped to a cup of water to soak for 24h, shells crack open, tap roots show and are ready to be seeded. That shows some real quality.
Only thing needed after that is to learn how to grow it 😁
Thanks for dropping a comment.
