HumblePi To start things off, my medium consists of buffered coco, living green peat-free worm compost, Perlite,Nutrichar (biochar composted with chicken poo), Basalt rock dust, bentonite clay, Ecothrive Life Cycle, garden lime. This was moistened with 75% RO and 25% well water mixed with Ecothrive Biosys. The mix was left in 30 litre fabric pot to cook for two weeks.
One seed was placed in a root riot plug and a 2 litre pocket was created in the 30L pot with just coco and perlite. The plug was buried level with the soil surface. A tickle of 100ml of RO water was pored in a circular pattern around the plug.

HumblePi Chamber temperature and humidity are stable and within range. Humidity dome air vent are open. Day 4 from Sprout: First set of serrated true leaves are officially visible. Cotyledons healthy. Light locked at 40% power at 50 cm [ViparSpectra]. Growth is perfectly on track.

HumblePi End of week one from sprout. I noticed a few adult fungus gnats around the surface of the pot. I added a few extra layers of Leca and a glass with a yellow sticky trap. I will monitor the trap to see if they are becoming a problem. If required, I will fill the bottom third of the glass with apple cider vinegar and a drop or two of dish soap.
Sprout stands 3 cm tall. Stem perfectly straight, leaves a healthy green. Seedling dome permanently removed. ViparSpectra locked at 40% at 50 cm. Preparing for Week 2: Aloe vera, humic acid, and Ecothrive biosys drench tomorrow.

HumblePi Day 18, I have had an infestation of scarid flies (fungus gnats). Yesterday I drenched the soil of all my plants with nematodes, including my normal houseplants and my 50-litre tubs of organic soil that are cooking. It seems the auto has self-topped. I am not sure if it was because of root damage from larvae or a normal genetic glitch. The number of adult flies has decreased on the sticky traps, so I hopefully have broken their breeding cycle. Because of the nematode top drench, I have not filled the self-watering reservoir. I will see how the plant gets on and leave it be for now.
