Should I use LST yet or at some point. Was getting some AI advice from Gemini to not LST as the plant is small and pistils or white hairs are forming and so it's starting flowering.

Something has gone crazy, from your diary there's nothing way out of whack listed but she sure didn't want to grow for you, must be a genetic issue. My autos have always performed just as my photos but with photos you have more time to learn and recover from problems. I only grow in soil, never used this medium but her look is healthy. Hate to say it but she won't produce any bud, she's already been through the stretch with pistils forming and is only a couple inches tall. Growing weed is not a fly by night endeavor, proper equipment and knowledge come with experience. Good luck

Yeah, this one is not going to be great :D. I'd say cut your losses on this one, and watch the light cycle on the next plant. Make sure she gets 16h of light minimum in the veg cycle and 12 in flower. That way the plant will not start to flower early. Normally you would start LST on the 4th or 5th node, when the plant is about 20cm high. Rooting for you!

Good morning, assuming it's photoperiodic, given that it's too small and producing flowers, I think you should reconsider a very important aspect: the distance of the lamp from the plant in the first weeks. In my opinion, I would now bring the lamp closer to the plant to about 35 cm and increase to 18h/20h to force it to revegetate... It's a slow process, but it might be the best way to recover this plant, as otherwise, I don't foresee a big harvest.

Qgoof Wrapping up Week 4 (Day 28) and the canopy is getting incredibly bushy! After a closer look, what I thought were early pre-flower pistils a few days ago were actually just stipules and new vegetative growth. She is still firmly in the vegetative stage, focusing all her energy on building out a dense canopy rather than stretching for bloom. ​The environment is running absolutely flawlessly. VPD is sitting right in the golden zone at 0.98 kPa, meaning her stomata are wide open and she is transpiring perfectly. The water temperature is locked at 67.8°F, keeping dissolved oxygen levels high for the root mass. I double-checked the circulating fan to ensure it’s just providing a gentle rustle (the "dancing leaf" test) without causing wind burn. ​The only minor hiccup is a slight downward drift in reservoir pH, which hit 5.4 today. This just means she is drinking a bit more water than nutrients, concentrating the remaining salts slightly. I will be dosed back to the 5.8 - 6.0 sweet spot to prevent any calcium or magnesium lockout. Otherwise, she is thriving and prepping for the eventual stretch!

Qgoof End Week 5: Pre-Flower Stretch, LST Adjustments, & A New DIY Mixing Station ​ The Big News: We Have Pistils! I'm glad I didn't abandon the plant when I mistook the stipules for pistlles. A good lesson for me in understanding the dofference. However, now The Acapulco Gold auto has officially shown her sex. White pistils are popping up at the nodes, which means we are shifting gears from vegetative growth into the pre-flower stretch. Because she needs heavy nitrogen to fuel the upcoming vertical explosion, I am holding off on the Bloom bottles for now and continuing with the vegetative nutrient profile to build strong stems. ​Canopy Management & LST With the stretch imminent, I completely reworked the canopy to break the apical dominance. The main tip had naturally curled back up, so I pinned it down again to level the playing field. I used some custom 3D-printed LST clips anchored to the net pot to pull the lower side branches outward in a "starburst" pattern. This completely opened up the center of the plant. I also did some heavy leaf tucking (rather than plucking, to avoid stressing the autoflower) to ensure every new bud site gets unobstructed light. The canopy is sitting perfectly flat, and the AC Infinity LED is exactly where it needs to be to let her grow into the light. ​ Hardware Upgrade: DIY Quick-Connect Mixing Station To make reservoir changes completely seamless, I built a new dedicated mixing and transfer station this week. ​The Vessel: A heavy-duty 20-gallon round HDX tote. The round shape is critical—it allows the submersible pump to create a massive, uninterrupted whirlpool with zero dead spots for nutrients to settle. ​The Engine: A VIVOSUN 800 GPH submersible pump. ​The Plumbing: I ditched the stock barbed plastic fittings and adapted the pump's 1/2" NPT female port using a solid brass 1/2" Male NPT to 3/4" Male GHT adapter. From there, I threaded on a Gorilla solid brass quick-connect set attached to a 6-foot heavy-duty Orbit leader hose. ​The Workflow: I drop the pump in bare to mix the 9-gallon RO batch. When the pH and EC are locked, I just snap the transfer hose onto the running pump, and it blasts the perfectly mixed solution directly into the DWC control bucket in seconds. No lifting, no spills. ​Nutrient Mix & Chemistry (9-Gallon RO Batch) With the new vortex station, I dialed in the chemistry for the stretch. Because of the heavy calcium nitrate in Part A and the sulfates/phosphates in Part B, I strictly space out the additions to prevent the elements from reacting and precipitating into useless calcium phosphate rocks. ​18 mL Athena Balance: Added first to the bare RO water to build the buffer. ​22.5 mL Athena CaMg: Crucial armor for the RO water. ​(Mixed for 2 minutes) ​40 mL Athena Grow A: Poured into the vortex. ​(Mixed for 5 full minutes to heavily dilute and prevent lockout) ​40 mL Athena Grow B: Added only after Part A was fully homogenized. ​9 mL Monterey Complete Disease Control: Dropped in last to maintain the biological root biofilm. Roots are currently looking blindingly white with zero slime. ​Current Environment & Dashboard Stats The AC Infinity controller is keeping the environment in the absolute sweet spot. ​EC: 1.15 (1151 µS/cm) - The perfect concentration to fuel the stretch without burning. ​pH: 5.7 - A great starting floor that gives her plenty of room to naturally drift up to 6.0 as she eats. ​Water Temp: 69.8°F - Keeping dissolved oxygen high and pathogens at bay. ​Tent Environment: 75.3°F and 68.4% RH. ​VPD: 0.95 kPa - Stomata are open, and she is drinking heavily. ​Next up: Watching her explode upward over the next 7 to 14 days!

Officially entering Week 4 (Day 22) and the Acapulco Gold has started showing her first pre-flower pistils! She is currently sitting at about 5 inches tall with a very compact, tight node structure. ​We had a brief hurdle at the end of Week 3 with a temporary nutrient spike and some dry air pushing the VPD up into the 1.6 kPa range, which likely triggered the early pre-flower response. However, the automated environment is now completely locked in. I dialed the exhaust fans back to allow the internal humidity to rise to ~61%, bringing the VPD down to a perfect 1.14 kPa. ​The 9-gallon reservoir is highly stable. EC is holding steady around 1.12 with an RO float valve handling top-offs, and the water temp is chilling nicely at 67.8°F to keep dissolved oxygen high. I am using a biological inoculant (Monterey Complete Disease Control) in the root zone, so Athena Cleanse has been omitted from the feed schedule to protect the live bacteria. ​I’ve capped the overhead lights at Level 5 to prevent light stress and actively encourage the main stalk to reach upward. Now that the taproots have officially dropped out of the net pot and into the main reservoir, an air gap has been established. No LST planned for this run to protect the main stem; just letting her grow naturally and waiting for the famous Sativa stretch to kick into high gear over the next two weeks.
