HomyHomegrower Week 1 — Germination and emergence
Genetics: Power Plant, Dutch Passion.
Seeds went into a 24 hour soak in water with 3% H2O2 added at around 10% by volume. Keeps the soak sterile and helps with oxygen availability at the seed coat. From there directly into rockwool, no paper towel stage.
Emergence took three days. Counting today as day 1.
The blocks were conditioned before seeding: Athena Pro Line at 2.7 EC, pH 5.5. Rockwool ships with a high pH and no buffering capacity, so a strong initial charge sets the substrate to a defined starting point.
Nothing meaningful to assess visually yet. What I'm watching this week: even emergence across all blocks, short internodes, first true leaves, and root tips reaching the edge of the block.
Power Plant is a long-established South African derived line, known for vigour and for being forgiving. The point of this run is to put it on a full mineral program from day one and document how it responds.
