First few days, what can I say, not much to talk about really! Spend most of the time setting up the cab, put this one to germinate before everything was finished so she sat on my windowsill for the first few days (thankfully there was some sun!). Got a weird slant, possibly from repotting, but it could help LST.

Still growing. Having looked at some other diaries, maybe a little slowly? Im not complaining as the space I have isn't large so she can take her time. I cut some more intake holes into the cab the other day so hopefully more air will help her out. Will give it a few more days then start giving some half strength generic nutes and see what happens. It's quite interesting that she's pretty much doubled her canopy diameter in 5 days!

Got a bit confused what week I was on. Sounds daft, but I'm trying to forget about her as she is in my office the temptation to just sit and stare at her all day is overwhelming! Getting some growth, when I compare pictures between a few days its good to see progress even if it does seem to be a little slow? I'm not sure if I'm watering too much or too little as sometimes she looks a bit sad, usually when its coming up to or just after her darkness. I'm just sticking my finger in and seeing how wet it feels, but trying not letting the soil get over saturated, but as the leaves aren't curling so i don't think its under watering/too hot, probably the opposite? Looks like she could be nice and dense though as there isn't much reaching going on yet, which is fine as I don't have a huge amount of space 😊

Into the 4th week now, started to LST her and you can see the arrangement of these. Fingers crossed all will go well and they will each form into colas. I'm not sure how much longer she will keep vegging before switching so don't know how long I'll have to train her for. I know she's still a small plant so 'why would you want her to stop growing' I might hear you ask. I am preempting the stretch during flower and would rather keep her highly trained so she can concentrate on fewer good bud sites than a hundred crap ones. I've started to randomly give her some tomato feed I had int he shed. Its got a ratio of 4-5-10, which I know might be a bit strong on the potassium so will keep an eye, but I think I read for flowering thats better than a 5-5-5. Any advise would be great. Brown patches on the leaves are increasing, I believe its phosphorus deficiency. Haven't got any specialist nutes still, so just giving a bit more feed, even though its still probably at half strength, so might try full strength next time and see if it stops spreading.

Into week 4 now and looking at other blue mystic journals, she seems kind of stubby and slow. Im guessing this is down to pot size and other novice parts I've played. Any advice or comments would be great.

What a sweet little plant! Your leaves are a nice color, but the curling/drooping is definitely of concern. I would move the LED higher if possible (although I know that's tricky in a micro grow!) as blurple LEDs can definitely damage plants if left too close. 10-18 inches is generally a good range with LEDs. Make sure your watering is on point as well, as I could also see overwatering causing the issues you are experiencing. I like lifting the plant's pot and judging the weight (water when the pot is nice and light) or by sticking my finger in the soil (dry down at least and inch or so). For nutrients, I would try Megacrop as a very easy, economical, all in one. It very very cheap and is powdered (easy to ship if you want to buy online) but still great quality. https://greenleafnutrients.com/product/mega-crop/?v=3e8d115eb4b3 There are some great grows out there from people only using Megacrop. I wish I had known about it for my first grows. Hope that helps!

Started to flower now. Applying LST and I actually love training her and seeing how the branches grow differently when they've been tied. Its been made slightly difficult by my poor planting and her being so to one side. I wanted to spiral her out, but I'm having to just wing it and shape best I can. I know some leaves are looking poor. I'm trying to sort it out, I think it was a combination of being too close to the lights and some deficiency. Im probably overwatering still too, especially now I've moved her further away so soil is a bit cooler. Aside from some of the lower leaves looking bad, the bid sites are looking ok I think, so I'm not super worried. Im wondering If I should cut them off though? Still putting in my generic tomato feed. For now. Started to note a bit of a 'fresh' smell as I enter the room. I haven't got the carbon in the filters yet as I'm seeing how things go for now, until the other half complains that is...

Starting to develop a nice but subtle, fresh smell, fresh She's carrying on well though, seem to have 8+1/2 bid sites, going to stop tying them down now and let the colas build up. Fingers Crossed. It's been pretty hot here this week (day 33-37) so I hope theres no bad effects. trying to keep temps down but not much I can do. Been putting her in the sun when I can. Update: Temps back to normal after a hot few days, she probably loved it, just hope the trichs/terps didn't suffer at all. Still amazed at how little smell there is, I know she's only small but its great, just little freshness wafting effort so often. But half way there I hope so just waiting and watching those buds to grow.

Got a bit lost on what week we're on again. Smell is increasing a bit, still fresh and not overwhelming, but I'll probably rig up the filters in the new week or so. Ive noticed that even the smaller colas are starting to put some weight on which is nice, I think its all going ok!

So 2 months down and its looking alright, I think. Leaves have never looked the healthiest, but thats expected from my first attempt with very little knowledge and nutrients! She's definitely starting to smell now. Still would class it as a low odour strain, but as expected, no strain is odourless! Its still very pleasant and the sticky finger smell if I touch a bud is dreamy, which I hope is a sign of things to come when I eventually get around to smoking her! Buds are all looking ok, range of sizes but I'm noticing that the smaller colas are starting to fill out. I assume in the final few weeks they'll fill out even more, so looking forward to that. Considering how small she is, I think she is going to yield a fair bit all things considered.

I found an old macro lens so was seeing if I could get close enough to see how the trichomes are getting on, but as you can see its too far to tell. Im waiting for a little loupe to arrive which I hope will help. see their colour. I can still see plenty of new pistils emerging so I guess I'm a good few weeks off harvesting yet, which is good as I want the buds to put on a bit more weight! Considering the lack of proper nutrients, I think she's actually going quite well.

OK so its got hot again, which is bad as I can't seem to keep the temps down. i went away for the weekend and don't even want to think how hot she got, i suspect it would have got to 31/32 inside. I'm just hoping it wasn't for too long and I haven't suffered massive losses... Anyway, my phones camera has decided it doesn't want to really focus on things anymore, so taking pictures is temperamental. However, I see the majority of trichomes are cloudy, with the occasional amber ones, So i am of the opinion that she is ready to be cut....

So with my limited equipment and poor, shaky photography skills, I have come to the conclusion that she is ready to be cut. Pistils are almost all red, trichs are 80% cloudy/10% amber/10% still making up their mind. Im going to put her into a day of darkness or so then get chopping I reckon.

Based on the dreadful pictures I have, does anyone agree she is ready to be cut? Will have to trust me when I say there seems to be the majority of trichomes either cloudy or amber. I know the leaves are bad looking, I think she got too hot for a few days when I went away :(

Your buds look fine some times the leaves will look worse for wear by the end of the grow. It could be a bit of light burn or potassium deficiency but it's no big deal. You will have a mixture of clear/milky/amber trichomes. Most growers will chop them with 5% to 30% amber trichomes the trichomes still ripen for a few more days after you chop so your good to go. Use a good pair of curve bladed trimming scissors and you can wet trim your buds basically cutting the yellow tips off your sugar leaves to improve your final dry buds appearance. My personal view is if it's not completely covered in trichomes it gets trimmed off. There are plenty of recipes on the internet to make cannabutter and hash oil with your trim. It looks like your going to have some kick ass buds out of her.👍👍

A great strain to be learning from as it seems very forgiving and resistant to whatever you throw (or don't) at it. Will consider growing it again, just want to experiment with other strains before I do a loop back.

So after a day or two in darkness, I decided to call it a day and give her the chop! She had been very forgiving to me all things considered. Its been an interesting learning curve, not only growing her, but making sure the cab and filters etc all worked as would have hoped, which I think they did. The buds don't feel amazingly dense, but theres certainly enough sugar on them to make it all have been worth it, the slight purple tint to the buds is even more of a nice touch! There will be one or two upgrades/changes for the next grow but for now, I'm just going to wait until the buds have all dried, give an update on the final weight, then cure them well. I'll be back in a few weeks with an update on smoke etc. UPDATE: Buds are curing nicely, just had a smoke of one and the smell when I ground it was so good. Not even because I grew it, but it generally has such a lovely smell. Like a spicy, citrus pine fresh. Now the buds are dry I gave them a weigh (on super inaccurate scales) and I know its very light. I assume thats down to poor nutrients and getting too hot. But I'm well happy all things considered. UPDATE: Really lovely fresh smoke as I said, the effect creeps up on you and isn't an instant head hit, but strong once you give it some time. Buds aren't dense so its a shame when I grind one up and see the sad amount that is there, but its still been so worth it!

I would dry her slowly over a 7- 10 day period at 50% humidity for the first few days then 60% humidity for the rest. You can remove the smaller buds after 3-4 days when they're dry enough and jar them up. After a a few more days take the medium sized one lastly the largest ones and put in jars. You need to use an digital hygrometer (Inkbird on amazon) in your jars your goal is to take them down to and maintain 62% humidity. If your at 64% to 66% you can leave the lid off for a few hours a day until it drops. If 67% or higher I would remove them from the jar for 3-4 hours then put them back in. So 7-10 days down to 62%. Add a Boveda 62% humidity pack. Then give them a nice 3 week cure remove the jar cover a few times a week to allow some fresh air into them.

@Philindicus, thanks for the advice. I got myself a Boveda pack so once they have dried ill put the buds in a jar with than and follow standard procedures 😇

Thanks for all your advise guys! You all seem to suggest that it is too close for starters, so I have dropped it down and its now on the bottom (as low as I can go now) so a distance of 12inch from the light, fingers crossed that'll be one box ticked. The other regarding watering, I'm finding really difficult, I keep putting my finger in and it feels ok for ages, then suddenly it'll be bone dry, I suspect that by moving them down from the light it'll also help this. I will look into the aforementioned nutrients when I got some more 'spare' cash, I doubt ill need a lot as its such a small grow! I have a fan in there on a controller, it doesn't oscillate, but ill ramp it up a bit and see if that helps. Peace and love guys!

So this is my first grow, I've adapted an old Ikea cupboard so suspect this will be a super small yielding grow, but everything is a learning curve right? Fingers crossed I get something out of it thats consumable. I don't think I'm going to be using nutrients, maybe a dash of a generic fertiliser here and there to help a little bit, more excited just to watch her grow!!
the end.
