Not a whole lot going on here - just sitting under a CFL for the moment until I figure out exactly what I want to do. Definitely outpacing the other non-autos that were planted at the same time
Transplanted in to a 3 gallon pot, changed to an LED light (Roleadro 400 watt COB) and watered her with less than half strength nutrients. Had to give her something since she's in about the least fortified soil you can get. I figured I'd start with rather tame soil because I can always add something too it, I felt the fox farms ocean forest was a bit much for some plants on my last grow.
She's looking a slight bit under the weather. A bit lightish green and the leaves have a weird texture. Seems to match up with nitrogen deficiency - it makes sense because I've been using less than half strength nutrients and there is almost nothing in the soil - think I'm gonna give her a boost and see if it works itself out.
Oh - no signs of flowering yet.
Wow, what a week .. she just freaking exploded! Its the first week with a sign of flowers. She's growing must faster than anything I had in my last grow. Not much of a smell at the moment unless you get really close. Gonna switch up the nutes this week to something more appropriate for flowering and thats about it.
Once again, Not a whole lot to report really other than a few more inches in the past week .. she's soaking up more water, gotta feed her 2 times a week now. Oh - no real smell yet, which is good, means I can keep the filter fan off and no complaining from the missus :)
This is one easy plant. Pop in a seed, put under a light and just add water .. with some nutrients in it of course. A few updates ....
1) Although the buds are spaced apart very nicely and there are not little traces of buds everywhere (see my white widow grow, you'll see what I mean) .. I decided to clip off the potential popcorn bud in the hopes of keeping all the buds worth trimming when the time comes.
2) She is starting to develop a smell and I am having a hard time describing it. At first when you walk in , it smell like something left in the sink rotting, but then it kinda smells like some kind of weird flavored cotton candy mixed with herb ????? Anyway .. its starting .. getting sticky too
She's got a new home (grow tent) and seems to be enjoying it, her buds are starting to bulk up and the smell (I'm thinking a mix between grapefruit and garbage) is intensifying. The tent does a good job at containing these newly developed scents.
I figured I'd try some Beastie Bloomz on her and she responded negatively - I'm assuming this is the reason for the brown tips on the leaves?? After noticing this, I flushed. Not sure if I am going to feed her anymore or just let it ride until harvest time ... perhaps that is a couple of weeks away?
She's almost done! But, I hope she can hold up for another week and 1/2 because I wont be around to take her down. I've been easing up on the nutrients and its showing. Not sure to give her another dose of nutes or just stick with water until the end ... think she can go 10 more days on water alone?? Hmmmm
She's really packing on the weight!! Just amazing. I've been giving her just straight water for the past week or so and she seems to be feeding off of her own leaves. I wonder how much longer she can last like this - from looking at the trichs she doesnt seem ready to harvest -- almost all clear and no amber. I wonder if I started with plain water too early?
Another week of just water ... and the buds just seem to get fatter. A few amber trichs but most of them cloudy -- a few clears here and there but I think its time to chop her down. Stay tuned!
93 Grams. I am going to give credit to the light that flowered this thing - the 300w cheap ass $80 Galaxy Hydro LED. It pulls 130 w from the wall so thats .7 grams/watt .. not too shabby for an $80 light. Gonna give the buds a bit of time in the jar with its Boveda packs and report back. One thing I need to mention -- I really suck at drying! I put them in a cardboard box, monitored the humidity and temp and the temp never really got over 70 and the humidity never under 52 .. as a matter of fact , most of the time it was over 60! Anyway ... the buds still feel dry'ish and only took 3 1/2 days!!! What am I doing wrong?? Maybe the box is a bad thing? Absorbing the moisture too quickly??? WTF???? Correction ... light pulls 121 watts ... even better!
