Hey Hawktree taste and potency also depends on something called terpenes. These a highly volatile molecules which means they are pretty fragile. So even light, heat, etc degrade them. The point is that for taste you can do two things : promote the creation of terpenes and promote the conservation of terpenes. To promote the creation of terpenes one ways is to make sure the plant has enough micro, specifically you want her to have enough magnesium and sulfur during flower. You can also add un sulfured molasses which is carbs for the plant. these micronutrients contribute to the terpenes (which are the source of taste and smell). Same with going organic, organic nutrients in soil just make the weed taste better in my opinion - try also adding beneficial bacteria as chelation agents in order to get the most out of your feed. That's to promote creation of terpenes, but actually the most important part to preserve the terpenes. Terpenes are highly volatile that means that every day under the light the light destroys them then at night the plant is rushing to create more, so reduce your light the last few days of flower before the chop , put the plant in 24hrs of darkness before the chop, chop the plant in the dark , dry it in the dark (VERY IMPORTANT!) then my little trick is to cure it in miron glass jars (that's black glass!) which filters most of the "bad light" . more than 50% of the final quality is determined by the cure, so dont mess the cure up ! the first week after you jar you want to inspect the weed everyday (in the dark!) that means open the jar take the weed out then put it back in the jar (no need to leave it out very long at all!), then you want to inspect once a week for the next three weeks. If you do all this i'm quite sure you'll have delicious weed . Hope this helps ! 🚀
