Hi!
I'm actually growing some White Walker Kush from DNA Genetics but I didn't have that option when selecting the strain so I just chose Martian Kush. Sorry about that. It's a seed I found in the weed from my last grow and I wanted to see if I could get sth out of it. Still not sure if it's male or female so wish me luck on this one. Looking good so far :)
PS: Right now, I still have the plant in my living room, under a 50W plant bulb with uv, so no strong lights used right now to prevent it from growing too fast. I'll move it into the box and under the 400W as soon as my actual grow is done.
Potsize is 65L.
I kinda lost track of the weeks since I didn't really wanted to grow this plant so I'll just assume it's around week 9... but I may be so wrong... 👻
DAY 1 03/09/17
No big changes and no significant new growth so far but looking happy.
Rearranged the LST just a bit to get a near perfect circle. (BTW I love the band too...👻).
During daylight, I put her in front of the window (the shitty west side of the house).
After 7 PM I always roll her under the weak UV bulb because the sun is setting quite early by now.
She's experiencing a lot of stress in the evening (TV, lights on/off, lighters, aso... ).
No regular time-table used. I just switch the light off when I go to sleep.
She's barely drinking at all. Didn't feed her for a week now. The top soil is still moist.
But despite all of this, I think she's still doing great. (Yeah I hope it's a she... damn it...).
Still some weeks left before I can clear the grow-box for flowering this baby.
Can't wait to move it ... if this turns out to be a male ... I'll.. I'll.. ah.. whatever...
GEAR UPDATE: Decided to switch from HPS to LED due to high temperatures in summer,
so I bought a Viparspectra Reflector 450W LED light.
Also bought 4x 15L airpots and 1L of Final Flush.
I'm seeing more and more people using that final product so I thought why not try this...
Can't wait for the delivery... 🙌
I'm really starting to like this site.
Pretty cool features and layouts and there's some badass growers out there to follow.
Already found some really precious infos out here! Thanks!
It's a nice change from usual forums I think... 👍

PERSONAL NOTE (just stumbled upon this and found it to be very interesting)
Information taken from Linda Chalker-Scott, Ph.D., Extension Horticulturist and Associate Professor,

The Myth of Fragile Roots
“You shouldn’t disturb the rootball when transplanting trees and shrubs”
The Myth
“When you transplant, try not to disturb the roots, just take the whole pot-shaped lump of soil/roots and pop it into its new home.” This and similar advice can be found on web sites and in gardening books, all which warn us of the fragile nature of roots. When we upend a container and slide out the root ball, it’s an innate response to handle those tiny white and brown strands gingerly so as not to break them. Since the survival success of a newly installed tree or shrub is dependent upon healthy, functioning roots, it seems obvious that the more intact the root system the better the chances of establishment. Anything that damages this intricate web would seem to add to transplant shock.
The Reality
Though gentle handling of roots is good advice when transplanting seedlings, especially annual flowers and vegetables, woody perennials, shrubs, and trees all benefit from a more vigorous approach. There are several reasons for this, and surprisingly some of the harshest techniques result in the healthiest plants.
Containerized materials, especially those in gallon sized pots, often have serious root problems as a result of poor potting-up techniques. Potbound plants exhibit circling root systems, which if not corrected become woodier and more troublesome the older they get. Eventually these circling root systems become girdling roots, which can lead to the early death of otherwise healthy trees and shrubs.
At transplant time, a more aggressive approach to root preparation can discover potentially fatal root flaws. Circling roots, J-hooked roots, knotted roots, and other misshapen roots can often be corrected by careful pruning. In this manner it’s possible to remove those root problems before they threaten the survival of your shrub or tree. It’s important to realize that roots respond to pruning in much the same way as the crown: pruning induces new growth. Roots that are pruned at transplant time, especially those that are excessively long or misshapen, will respond by generating new, flexible roots that help them establish in the landscape. It is vital that these new transplants are kept well-watered during this time.
A second problem with containerized materials can also be avoided during your root inspection. In general, the media in the container is a soilless mix with a large proportion of organic matter and pumice. If transplanted with the plant as part of the root ball, this material will inhibit root development outside the planting hole. Furthermore, the porous texture of this planting media will often lose water more rapidly than the surrounding native soil, resulting in increased water stress to your new transplant. It is much better for root establishment to remove as much of the container material as possible before the plant is installed.
The best use for the discarded container mix is as a topdressing over the disturbed soil. When covered with wood chips or another mulch that will reduce weed colonization, the container media serves as a nice source of slow-release nutrients.
______________
Still no big changes except for the center slowly filling up. Slowly transforming into a nice canopy.
Still waiting for the other plants to finish in the flowerbox so I can finally get it under under some real light... i think it will take some more +- 3 weeks...
😴😴😴............
Still under that tiny 50W bulb.
It's like she's sleeping and having a good dream.
Growing ultra slow but still looking happy. She started to stretch a bit in the center so I needed to tuck some branches under some leaves. I watered her for the first time after +- 2 weeks. 10l pure water only. Roots have started coming out of the bottom of the pot.
Hopfully I can put her in the box next week... I wanna see that thing explode 🙈🙈🙈
DAY 1
Wheeee.... finally 👻
She's now in the box under the 250W LED. She's on a wooden plank I can rotate for easier training. Added 2 fans and a humidifier.
For now the led's in an opened coolhood but I'll close the system when flowering. Temps are perfect without the glass shield. There's a big exhaust sucking the filtered air out but it's not connected to the hood. The hood will have it's own exhaust when closed. Just a small fan used here.
So yeah, she's finally good to go. I'll let her get used to the new light, then lower it and leave her to grow for real...
It's getting interesting now!
And I need to take pictures with the dslr. I hate the colors it gets from the led. Even through my new glasses...
We'll see.....
DAY 2
Lowered the light distance to 40 cm from canopy. No further changes.
DAY 4
Naah, that lowering of the lamp wasn't good. I read the instructions and it clearly states: 24 inches / 60 cm above canopy is best for veging so I changed it back. I really need to read up on LED lights...
It seems like she has adapted well to the new LED light. The growing has started again and she's filling up nicely.
Feed her for the first time as I noticed a little yellowing of the leaves. I'm starting with a 50% diluted solution. I never go full nutes at the start because I think that's only a trick to get us to buy more nutes. If she's doing well, all good, if not, I'll up or down the ratio depending on how she'll react to the feeding....
Now, a question... I have ca. 75cm room left from canopy to lamp. The manufacturer says: you can put the lamp to 40cm distance in bloom. Now I know she's gonna stretch when flowering so... how much more will still be ok before I flip it? I'm thinking like 10-15 more cm before the flip? Then she'll stretch like 20 more which leaves me about 40cm room left? Or am I totally wrong here? Any advice would be largely appreciated :) Thanks guys and happy growing!!!
Sorry for the delayed post. This is how she looked on Monday.
She's doing fine and finally growing fast but I'm going to back up the nutes. The 50% solution may still be slightly too much. There's some very slight burns so I'll get back to 30% as indicated or sth like that.
Well, today was the last day veging. I defoliated the lower 20%, switched on the red LEDs and set the timer to 12h. I activated the 2nd fan inside the box and also switched on the mini fan connected to the cooled hood. I'll leave it open until the stretch or the smell begins. As soon as there's any smell, I'll close the system by adding the glass shield. Also, I'll save the resulting temperature drop for the later weeks so... let's see...
Nutrients added: about nothing. I read somewhere you should flush the plants before the switch so I just feed a normal quantity of water with only a bit of nutrients. It's around a 1/20th of the recommended dose maybe.
Let the adventure begin!
She’s been growing fast now. Good amout of stretch going on. About 10cm this week. I fed her twice. First, a ¼ solution, then back to ½ again.
Most importantly I see pistiiiils!! It’s a she!!! 😅😅😅 weeeeeeeeee!!!! So glad it didn’t turn out to be a male 🙏👻🍿
I’ll do some more detailed close ups in the next days to come :)
Happy 😎
I gave her a good flush with plain water. She got some burns and a slight deficiency is showing up so I though resetting the soil was a good idea. Had the flush planned anyways. Did some slight defoliation too because some leaves were pressed against the tent. The stretch has stopped so far I think. Puuh... i hope she’ll stay safe... i really don’t want all this work to be in vain... 😅
I’ll buy a good ph meter asap! Not feeling safe with the one I have... 🤔
No feeding/watering so far. I'll let the soil dry out completely to a point that's ok without stessing her. The burn has finally stopped and the deficiency is still tolerable so when I'll water her again next time, I'll start again with 25% of nutes that will be far enough. I will only slowly raise the nutes. Finally got my new ppm and ph meters from BlueLab. Now I need to read up that stuff because I have no clue about ppm and EC values. Also barely checked any ph in my other grows so... new stuff to learn. It will certainly help a lot :)
She's doing fine so far I think. No big trouble yet but she's slooooooooow.... 😴👻
Holy cow... week 20... Never thought I'd ever have a plant going for that long... pffff....😅
Well, sorry for the dealy in posting, I caught a really bad flu and was stuck in bed so I couldn't move but here's the update so far:
I feed her with a 30% solution as planned, so, going really low on the nutes so far. No more burns but deficiencies are slowly getting worse. Next time I'll step it up to 50%. I think she'll take it...
Good thing is: she got cold too xD and she's starting to look a bit frosty on the sugar leaves. Pistils are developping fine all around the plant. Canopy is still looking good. Not too much differences in height. And she has started dropping the lower leaves where light can't reach. Also showing strong signs of Nitrogen def as she started turning yellow from the bottom. Maybe a bit too soon, that's also why I'll jump up to 50% nutes
Checked the ph from the soil. I guess it's around 6,7ph because it was around 7 at runoff so next feed I'll go down to 6,2 to balance that out a bit. The new bluelab ph meter is way more accurate than everything i had before so I'll be using it a lot in future. It will sure make a difference when I have more control over my feeds... feeling safer...
Yo... that's it so far. Growing conditions haven't changed. Let's keep playing the game :)
Thanks for checking in! Kinda busy right now (and sick) so I don't have so much time to check on your grows but I'll come back to that for sure in future! Cheers mates and happy farming ^^
UPDATE DAY 3
Ph is back in the range. Runoff says 6,7 now. I guess that's fine. I also did feed her today with the 50% nutrient solution ph'd at 6.2. Added just a bit more phosphor and boost compared to the other nutes but just a bit, like 60%... Noticed that a very few of the pistils have turned brownish. Very weird. Never seen that in this stage but I guess it's nothing bad, there's really only 8 -10 hairs on the whole plant (counting hairs am I) that did that so... let's wait it out. I'll add a picture sooner or later....
The nutrient chart above has been updated to the last feed I gave, the 50% solution.
Oh yeah, I'm also slowly starting to drop the temperature for both day and night. Just 2 or 3 degrees over the next weeks to simulate fall. Can't be bad... ;-)
Have a great day everyone ^^
10% more nutes than last week, that means I'm at 60% now... Fed her with Ph at 6.4.
Still looking good. No big changes except that she's now really dropping all the lower leaves. The small ones keep dying of. I'm ok with that. I let the plant do her thing. I just pick them of if they're really dead. Keeping the stress as low as possible this grow.
Looking forward to the next weeks... :)
Day 1
It seems like she's a little slow but the smell finally starts to come.
No big changes for the rest. I'll probably need to feed her tomorrow.
I dropped the temps a little bit. No other changes so far.
Day 2
Feeding time! Up with the nutes to 75%... Only the Boost is at 100%.
Changed the values above as well :)
Day 7
Feeding time. Nutes were at 85%. Boost is at 100%. Changed the values above.
Day 1
I had to add some sticks to the pot because some of the branches started tipping over because they're quite thin compared to the buds that are forming. They're still kinda loose but it will prevent them from falling over completely if they're packing some more weight. This happened during my last grow so I don't want this to be repeated... for the rest: patiently waiting for the finish... ^^
Day 3
Uploaded some new pics.
Day 4
New pics and feeding time. I went 100% with the nutes this time to give her a final push. After this, I'll back off again... I'll see how she's doing in the next days, maybe I'll give her a very low nutrient solution or depending on how she develops, I'll start flushing but let's wait and see... :-)
Changed the values above to 100%.
Day 1
Kinda fattening up now. I guess I'm getting close to the end now. No feeding so far. Trichs are still mostly clear on the buds (with some amber and cloudy in between) so I'll need to wait some more for the flush but it won't be long... let's see...
Nutrient values above are still at 100% from the last feed but next feed I'll back down for sure. I'll go 75% next time, maybe 50%, maybe 0% and I'll flush depending on how she gets along...
Update from last week that I forgot: I gave her a final feed at 75%...
WEEK 25 DAY 1 ... omg... 😂😂😂
It really took me half a year to finish this one... unbelievable... 😅
Well, so far I'm still super happy. Everything seems to go just fine but I'll never do this again..haha.. (vegging under a 50W bulb xD)...
Soooo... looking at the trichs, I think the harvest window has just opened. There's still a lot of clear but the cloudy ones are starting to come and there's already a little amber on the leaves. I suppose I'm really close to harvest now. I'll be flushing her next time for sure.
First, I'll feed her a low nutrient solution, maybe around 25% and half of the usual water quantity because I'm not that sure about when she really finishes so she dries out more quickly. Next, I'll use Grotek Final Flush right before I'll chop her down. I don't want to use this right away because last time my plants were dying a bit too fast so.. not to be repeated ;)
Getting impatient now. Hopefully it will be a White Christmas...haha!
DAY 2
Gave her one last feed at 25%. Poured only half of the usual water quantity. Left the BloomComplex totally aside because she seems like she's doing a little 'clawing'. Maybe there's too much Nitrogene? Trichs are beginning to get cloudy, with a little amber in between.
I'll flush her with plain ph'd water tomorrow probably or should I wait some more days? What do you think? I'm never sure when the time is right... :/
DAY 3
I just took some more pictures with a macro lens attached to my iPhone. Seems like the buds in the middle do have way more amber than the other ones around which have swollen more compared to the ones in the middle but have less amber. The last days, I didn't check the ones in the middle so I changed my mind. I just flushed her with Grotek Final Flush. I'll wait for some hours for the solution to break down the salts and then I'll flush again to get rid of the flushing solution.
I'm also gonna switch the timetable to 8/16. (16 hours of dark) and I'll drop the temperatures some 2 more degrees.
DAY 2
She's oh so slow to finish. Still more clear and cloudy than amber so i'll need to wait some more... I actually prefer the more amber type of high... I can wait... :)
Maybe I'll need to feed her plain ph'd water one more time but let's see...
Merry X-MAS to ALL! 👻
DAY 5
Wow... that was fast. She kinda turned amber in 2 days. The buds in the middle are now like a bit over-ripe, a lot of amber and the ones outside are just a little under-ripe. I'm done. No more waiting now. I thought about harversting only parts but I'm really done with this one. I'll leave her in the dark for 1 more day and then I'll chop her down. Luckily she's about to dry out completely so the drying process will work just fine... FINALLYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!! 26 WEEKS MUAHAHA.... Next: back to autoflower... LOL!
QUESTION: I've been using a 200W LED which is supposed to replace a 400W HPS. She draws actual 200W. Should I now put the wattage used to 200W or 400W ? ? ? ? ?
------------------------
What started as as a 'just for fun' - project turned out to be my longest going grow ever. I cut her down yesterday when it was still 2017. Today it's 2018! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
For the ones wondering why it took 27 weeks: I started under a very small 50W bulb as it was only a just fun project so she vegged for ages. She would have been way faster if I grew her under normal conditions ;)
The wet weight is 384 with the branches still on like in the hanging pictures. I only cut the bigger fan leaves off. Haven't smoked it yet so I just put it to 50/50 sat/ind -> smoke report to be updated... :)
_________
After trimming, cutting and drying I got 54 grams on the scale. Well, I'm a bit dissapointed considering the outcome in grams but I think the quality is quite ok this time. Smoke report to follow soon... ;)
