Christina Tosi's Crack Pie

Fibro_Witch First time doing autos and growing 420 FastBuds. I soaked these overnight on Wednesday and both have germinated in the Fox Farm Ocean Forest potting soil, though 1 is definitely ahead of the other. I'm going to be putting these in 5 gallon fabric pots when they're ready. Fibro_Witch I had 2 germinate and then for sh!t$ and giggles I decided to throw another in so that's the smaller one. I decided I'd better transplant to the Root Pouches while I still had time. I used what little of the Fox Farm Ocean Forest I had left and then mostly Coast of Maine Potting soil. Now they're in the garden with the big girls!

Fibro_Witch The two larger (and older) CBD Cracks are looking very good, the younger one needs to kick it's butt into gear! We have a heat wave going through right now so hopefully they'll like it😎 I went out to water early this morning so they got a little lime water. I was hoping for a little more growth this week but hopefully the lime will do it's trick and help them along. They have plenty of nutes in the soil to use up and I don't want to mess with them too much early on. And yes, I did put tomato cages in their bags because my evil, spiteful cat was trying to dig in there and take a 💩 and I really don't need that...

Fibro_Witch The older plants really found their stride this week and have put out some good growth so hopefully it'll be exponential from here on out. I'll probably pinch the smaller one this afternoon. The bugs have become more interested in the autos this week so I sprayed with a little Safer brand Neem oil concentrate.

Fibro_Witch Solid week for the CBD Cracks. They're really starting to fill out. And flowers! Already? That went fast! I guess that's why they call them Fast Buds😆! I totally missed my window on ponytailing. I've been so busy with work and the rest of the garden. So it looks like we'll just have to see what happens when they're left to their own devices. Oh well!

Fibro_Witch The girls had a good week but the bugs are closing in. I have some BT coming on Monday to hopefully thwart those pesky inchworms since Neem and Insecticidal Soap do not seem to be doing the job. They got a little Coast of Maine 5-4-2 around the base as well. I'm staying away from mineral salts this year and sticking with au naturale nutes.

Fibro_Witch I'm really loving these autos! They are carefree and getting frosty already😍 Inchworms are still snacking on them but they're resilient, and I'm spraying with Bonide brand Thuricide BT (bacillus thuringiensis) which targets caterpillars and inchworms. They got some Molasses and Big Bloom this week.

Fibro_Witch I'm continuing to have a lot of fun with these autos. I'll admit, you get a little impatient with the photoperiod strains. It can become tedious, with such a long season. These autos tho, they transform before your very eyes! I love it! just a couple more weeks and they'll be ready. I can't wait to see how sugary they get. The nice thing is that they'll be done before the cool weather and rain that equates to mold issues sets in. I've been shopping around for more 1:1 autos for next year. Can't deny how convenient these are for outdoor growers in the north.

Fibro_Witch Things are going great. These girls are getting nice and frosty. They are so easy. And the smell! Oh she's heavenly! She's almost sickeningly sweet. I'm very excited to try this strain. Last year I was more on the Indica dominant bandwagon, since I use Kratom during the day for pain management. But my obsession with CBD Blue Shark has me excited for more balanced hybrids. I've been having an issue with the quality of Kratom I've been getting from vendors so I may have to start in on wake&bakes, which FastBuds says this strain is perfect for!

Fibro_Witch Take it away Pointer Sisters! "I'm so excited (look what you do to me), and I just can't hide it (you got me burning up) I'm about to lose control and I think I like it (yeah) I'm so excited (how did you get to me?), and I can't deny, no, no, no (I've got to give it up) (Oh, oh, oh, oh)I know, I know, that I want you" We have about 15% amber on these trichs. I'm thinking she's coming down in the next week, at least the older 2 are. I'm planning on going at about 40-50% amber because I want this for daytime use so I don't want a lot of CBN. Just water for now. Let's see how they finish!

Fibro_Witch I thoroughly enjoyed growing this strain. It was easy and carefree for the most part. Great experience first time growing autos. Displayed 2 phenotypes. 1 had thinner sativa colas that had beautiful purpling, while the other 2 were more bushy indica type. 2 plants were harvested at 73 days and 1 was harvested at 75 days. I did have a little mold and some aphids at the end but that all came out with trimming and the wash. I will apologize for the amount of flower pappus that stuck itself to the colas (another reason to wash!) I'm really looking forward to trying this strain after it dries but as of right now I would definitely recommend it to other growers! I realize my numbers aren't that big. Looking back, I could have fed them more during flower. I also should have been feeding them the fish emulsion rather than the Coast of Maine granules. I think with how fast these plants mature that they would have benefited from the liquid fish emulsion much more during veg since it takes longer for the plants to break down the granules and I didn't feed it until later. I think my Lemon Potion Auto had me spooked as far as feeding with how messed up that one was. Lesson learned. I totally missed the window on ponytailing these girls and that would have made a huge difference, but I suppose that's the beauty of hindsight. I also could have let them go longer, but I wanted some light daytime stuff. And of course I could have given them more room. But, this is an outdoor grow and many factors are out of my control, especially since I live so far North. My thoughts going forward are: I'm loving autos. They are fast and fun. I'm thinking next year I'll stick them in the ground too, since the photos are loving it this year. I'm planning on growing more autos, but I definitely want to try this strain again. And I will definitely be ponytailing next time. I'll be interested to see how much more that puts out. I really like how much easier they are to trim and wash. And I will certainly be feeding more when they go into flower. I know from looking at other diaries that growers have gotten some big numbers out of this strain, but let this diary be a testament to the fact that I did basically no training (I only pinched once) and I really didn't feed heavily (only natural feeds, no mineral salts) and still had decent plants. So I think that's a testament to how strong these genetics are and easy plants for a first time auto grower. Therefore this is a great strain if you don't have a lot of time on your hands and you're on a budget, or if you've never grown autos before. Also, I'm using 58% humidity packs with all the strains I'm storing this year. The 62% ones I used last year held up well but then I had mold this summer and had to pitch a couple ounces😩. I talked to a friend who's a commercial grower and he definitely recommended I go with the 58% for long term storage. FYI So, I'm shopping around for 1:1 auto strains for next year. I have several picked out, but if any breeders want to reach out I'm always open to 1:1 strains!
