Started Germination Friday Evening 07/05, and moved to pot Saturday evening 07/06. Pictures are week ending 07/09. Only one plant has sprouted currently, which is surprising considering the first week is really only 5 days. Minimal water, but keeping them under humidity tents for the time being. QB's are turned down to the lowest setting, as any brighter tends to dry out the soil quickly and I'm only spot watering at the moment. Quick germination and even faster sprout time on 1/3; already living up to their name!
Week ending 07/16. Started with 3 plants, and lost one. I think the the third one ended up being under-watered as I'm always afraid to overwater autos in the larger containers. The other two that survived seem to be growing strongly enough. Still only using PH'd water, no nutes as they seem to be doing fine. I topped off their soil to help strengthen up their stems. Couple of yellowing spots on the newer fan leaves; I'm doubtful that it's experiencing any-kind of deficiency this early, and I believe it to be water droplets coupled with the amplifying of the LED lighting, but am continuing to monitor.
Week ending 07/23. This week was very warm, and struggled keeping the humidity up. Misted the grow tents and that helped. Switched to a full nutrient regimen and brought the lights closer to help with the slower than usual growth and now they're thriving. Measured height doesn't account for the 2 inches of added top soil. They've been growing the fastest out of anything I've grown thus far. Minor spotting on the leaves that I've attributed to water amplifying the LED lighting. Will continue to monitor, but they've fully rebounded by this point and are loving their environment!
Week ending 07/30. They've fully rebounded. Moved these girls to the left side of my 4x8 tent (same lighting). I also helped mitigate the higher heat, and low humidity by moving my QB drivers to the outside of the tent, as well as adding a 3 liter container of open water to hopefully increase the humidity. Lowered the lights to about 25 inches, and reduced the amount of direct wind onto the plants, with more focus on circulation. Overall, new conditions are an oasis for these girls! Plan on adding straw to the top soil to help with the evaporation of the top soil from the lights this week.
Week ending 08/06. Last watering I did straight PH'd water. Plants are on the small side, but steady growing. Each plant is different in height. Plant #2 has entered it's flowering stage with plant #1 showing signs it's ready to turn. They're responding very well to their environment, and I plan on switching up nutrient schedule next watering for flower. All in all, solid progress, no signs to monitor at this time!
Week Ending 08/13. These girls are coming along great. Had to back off a bit on the nutrients, and also raise the light a few inches as I think they were starting to show signs of light burn. The nitrogen toxicity was minor, but corrected with plain PH'd water. They've stayed short, but They're budding along very nicely.
Week ending 08/20. The sadness of the plants in this picture was due to lack of water as I was waiting for my replacement PH meter. They've perked back up now. Fed full nutrient schedule, and did some minor defoliation of yellowing leaves and fan leaves that were covering bud sites. Starting to fill out now, and they're growing happily!
Week Ending 08/27. tough week, missed watering by about a day and had to go no nutrients due to lack of PH solution. They've flourished though. Did some light defoliation, and also dropped the lights to about 18 inches above the tallest plant. Buds are really starting to develop, short but bushing out.
Week ending 09/03. These girls are filling out nicely! Did a bit more light defoliation, and rotated them 3/4 of a turn and moved their positions. moving the lights closer to the plants has totally helped, I've noticed some serious fattening of the buds over the last week; which I attributed to both dropping the lights as well as the stage of growth it's currently in. I switched to a feeding schedule that's nutrients added once a week, and then two more waters of water only. It's been working, and will continue to monitor over the next few weeks!
Week ending 09/10. Fed nutrients on 09/07, then just plain Ph'd water again on 09/10. The branches are really starting to fill out and fatten up, although plant number two seems to be lagging a tad bit behind plant 1. May end up having a staggered harvest for these girls as well. Fade is coming in slow and nicely. All in all no real issues, these girls are moving right along!
Week ending 09/17. These girls are moving along nicely into their final weeks of flower! plant 2 is lagging behind ever so slightly, but the overall growth and thickening out of the colas is incredible! They've pretty much stopped growing vertically, but have begum to really swell out. Typically, this strain has a shorter flowering time, but I'm going to let her continue to run with it, because trichomes still have some development time left!
Week ending 09/24. I've switched to only PH'd water with no nutrients as it appears to be in its last couple of weeks of flower. Not much longer! Girls have been spending all their energy fattening their buds, and they are dense! I'm pleasantly surprised with the growth so far, and the density is increasing almost overnight! Most of the trichomes are cloudy, but still a significant amount of clear. Waiting until I notice some amber scattered about, but still some time to go. They are getting smelly!
Harvested on 09/29/19 at about 10:00 PM. Hung to dry for about 9 days, then trimmed and jarred on the evening of 10/08/2019. This grow went very well! Plants stayed pretty short, but the colas they produced were absolutely incredible! Dense nugs, with an incredibly sweet smell even before cure. Super easy to grow, and easy to monitor for issues/deficiencies. These girs over performed, and I'm super happy about the outcome! Great yield, and truly put the "express" in it's name to work, with such a short flowering period. Trichomes were all cloudy with a small amount of amber to tell me these girls were ready. Can't get over how dense they were, and I look forward to growing these genetics again. Huge round of applause to 420 fast buds for their genetics here!
