Germed in coffee filter. Started in 1 liter pot with sandy ground from the garden. Also suffered from the heat but seemed to be more resillient than jacky.
No pics because I was putting all my attention to suffering jacky. But it was growing steady although not fast. I blame the heat. No one else. Only the heat.
Moved to full soil in the garden. But I enriched the soil with peat and general potting ground. Seems to appreciate the nutes a bit more than the jack herer but then again I did not molest this one's roots. Has a huge multiflower sunflower as a companion. a snake shield around it and gets the weekly canna cure / garlic concentrate treatment.
Plant is growing steadily not really growing fast I think (first timer). Weather has turned a bit meh. Lots of moisture in the air, little to no sun.
started LST
sun is back. jacky is taking off and I upped the feed.
Delivery of calmag and sillica additives should arrive soon so they will get it with next feed and we will see if it helps her with the lighter veins
another week of veg. Plant really started growing hard but think i am getting some mineral deficiency. The new leaves are lime green near the stem. Iron?
(dont mind the white powder its stone dust)
went into flower during last week. still giving some veg nutes to get through the stretch. has been bushing up alot.
saw some secondary cola's formin as well. hope they still buff out a bit. probably switching 50/50 nutes during the week.
had absolute shit weather with too high temps. luckily her being in full ground and under a plastic sheet reduced the impact of this.
Finally got around to doing some more LST on the side branches. hope they still flesh out a bit.
started 50/50 nutes
going stronk
So starting to lose track of time regarding the journal... But she is fattening up nicely. I did some more extensive LST but the main branch is really dense with leaves and starting flowers. The humidity outside has been on the shit side so i hope this clears up a bit later on. no fun in rotting buds. next feed is flower only
Day 8 of flower. Trichomes are here. Tried to manipulate the LST branches but most are really rigid and im afraid to snap em. Cut some leaves which were touching the ground or being an ass by covering flowering branches. Full bloom feed now. dont expect em to grow much more. Also gave em PK to fatten up. Smell is very mild but oh boy she is sticky and that juice smells intense...
Many trichomes are forming. I really like the look of the plant it looks healthy and there is alot of tension in the leaves from being healthy (what is the scientific name again for the tightening of plant cells which causes them to really look asof they are straining themselves?) Buds are gaining weight. I might up the feed for this one, looks like she can take it.
Weather was shit, should be getting better the next weeks.
Saw some traces of whitefly but they didnt like the taste I guess.
Better weather! Has some hungry visitors around munching on my fan leaves. These nude friends were immune to my reppellent so it seems. I made a beer trap but this has proven to be of no effect because the slugs do not come out anymore because of the scorching sun. Haven't seen any new munch spots.
Flowers are fattening up nicely. She isnt tall but the whole main branch is 1 big cola. At the moment it is about 3 fingers thick. Hoping to get another finger in width extra in the couple of weeks.
upped feed some more for this one because it eats like a champ.
@week 12 ill be checking trichomes.
Was gone for a week, but someone took care of them <3.
sooo the weather has been a pain in the ass recently because we are now approaching autumn the humidity and amount of dew in the evening night and morning has really ramped up. Fortunately the amount of rain and humidity during the day has been ok. No rot detected (smell/sight). The humidity during the evening night and morning does however bring out the snails and boy are they many... They have already munched off some fanleaves and but I think I am in control again.
Feeding still going strong with this one. Went back to the 'safe' amount during my absence to decrease the risk of fuck ups while i am gone.
Lets talk trichomes. Getting them in focus with a jewelers loop is a pain in the ass. I am undecisive about wether she is done or not. I think i see some amber, but I also see some clears and I also see milky. So I am going to wait some more if the weather allows it
ps. if anyone wants to stealth grow or grow in a more crowded environment this one's smell is so SO mild. I recommend it.
So my plan now is to leave them as they are and just go with the weather. If it turns too sour I will just cut em. Id rather have less potent bud then rotten bud.
Weather is better but the first branches are about 2cm from the ground which does not help with the humidity. I checked the bottom nugs but no traces of rot or whatever. Top cola is almost done most side colas are starting to get cloudy some are still clear. 1 week? 2 weeks? This probably was the last feed
So, First grow first harvest. Let's review
The plant started off great but once I planted it in the soil it mutated a bit. It was pretty short and grew very close to the ground. Not sure what caused this?
Had to cut her short because of the weather and the immune system of the plant plummeted inviting bugs and mold (I also blame the weather) But to be honest i think the resistance is fairly strong. up until the weather really turned the plant had 0 issues aside from being a mutant.
I did a wet trim immediately to nugs because i wanted to check for any bugs and or mold before drying. Its clear that the flowers could have fattened up more but the weather said no. Plant growth stagnated and now i have mostly popcorn buds but hey. Its weed and its mine👌
After drying I put them in pots with hygrometers and boveda 62 bi directional humidity packs
What have we learned:
- Start earlier
- Be patient in all phases
- Go harder on the nutes
- Don't plant directly into solid ground even if you prepare the soil beforehand because it take away alot of flexibility
- Start in seedling soil
- Don't put them out too early
- Other things that are now so obvious I cannot tell
Update: smell is improving day by day. Heavy sweet smell now as in, you guessed it, cream
