Stephanie is a strawberry cough strain that came to me as a 2 week old clone infested with spider mites. In my refusal to let her go in my tent I laced her with bug b gone outside for 2 weeks. Once the mites were dead a x20 microscope was used to look for eggs. Once I was sure the problem was solved I removed any effected parts and monitored her for the next few weeks befor moving her indoors. This definitely set back her growth but better than bugs in a clean tent.
She seems to be very happy now and spreading her wings nicely in my unprofessional opinion 😀
Over the next month or so as she waits for her spot in the tent to flower with her neighbors Granddaddy Purple, Do Si Dos and Cherry Pie X Gorilla Glue (see other journals) should continue to fill in nicely.
This week Stephanie the Strawberry Cough has grown 4” in height and roughly the same in width. Now at 22” it’s looks like she might be ready to start getting LST’d to make for a better canopy to flower. She will be in heavy veg nutes for atleast a couple more weeks as she patiently awaits her tent space.
She looks happy and healthy to me.
Stephanie here has taken the the nutrients change very well as she has put on 5” on height closing the gap on her neighbors sitting at 28-30 now. Getting very close to flipping light schedule to 12/12.
The start of this week Stephanie’s tent space was freed up for her to start flowering now. She spent 2 days in blackout befor being feed transitioning to flowering nutrients. While feeding her after blackout, noticed her first pistil appearing. 2 days later was feed with Cal-Mag and ph’d 6.2
Numbers in pictures:
AG = above ground
FD = flowering day
Stephanie has grown 3” in height and roughly the same in width. Lower branches are starting to pick up the growth pace but I’m not sure it’s going to be fast enough to not be buried by its neighbors canopies, restricting the light penetration down below. We shale see in the up coming weeks.
For the most part Stephanie has mirrored what she did last week. She has put on another 3” in height and 2” in width. Each of top branches are now showing very obvious flower sites as they have at the very least tripled in size.
Seems to be happy and healthy as she continues to be fed 2 litres of green planets 3 part nutrients. Fed full strength nutes Friday’s and Tuesday’s with Sunday being ph’d Cali-magic. This leaves Thursday’s as a judgement call on moisture level. If plant is to dry I’ll give her a single litre of ph’d water to make it to the next days nutrients but I try not to water Thursday’s to stress em out a little.
Until next week.......Thanks for reading and Here’s to hoping for a huge harvest!
Stephanie the Strawberry Cough stated this week getting her top branch low stress trained taking her back down 3.5 inches. Threw out the course of the week she has taken back an inch of it putting her at 32” now. The flower spots on her do seem to be getting bigger faster then her tent mates are but that could all change in a heartbeat as I believe the big stretch is nearing the end. Focus on flowers getting bigger and more dense for the next month or so and I’d be happy 😃
Stephanie is still being watered;
-Tuesday with full gp3 (green plant 3 part) plus Cali mag by General hydro PhD to 6.2 roughly 2 litres
- Thursday get PhD Cali mag water and
Only 1 litre at most. Try not to water Thursday unless she is to dry to make it to Friday
-Friday full gp3/ Cali mag PhD 2-3 litres
-Sunday full gp3/Cali mag PhD 2-3 litre
-Monday/Wednesday/Saturday no water.
This week had a pretty major change not just in flower production, but also decided to change tent set up as well. Changes to the tent included ditching the 600w led and the 2x 2000w garbage led lights (i call bs on manufacturer saying they are 2k) These 3 lights are now out and we have stepped up to cmh 315w. Should have bought this cmh 315 right off the hop and not spent the money on led. Now going to cmh the tent run way hotter and has required other upgrades to keep from overheating. The duct system was dual t4 cloudlines running one in and one out off the same control module has now been changed to a T6 cloudline exhausting with a t4 feeding cool/fresh air. Tent jumped 9 degrees with cmh 315 so had to also add the overheat back up plan. Put a 6” inline duct (can fan pushing extra 200 cfm) along the exhaust line closer to window exhaust point which is plugged into an ink bird plug and play thermostat set to 82. This just helps the T6 do a better job with less noise.
With these changes I feel way more confident of yielding a higher gram/plant ratio. I believe if you look at last weeks pictures and compare to this weeks you will probably agree with me.
You decide .......😀
Stephanie continued to bulk up on her flower sites this week. Top cola that I tied down to prevent it from getting to close to light (as high up as tent will let me) won’t be one solid flower, looks like we’re I held her down will be a separation in top cola and that’s fine by me. Same amount of smokable flower, just won’t have a big ole stem in it 😀
Into the last couple weeks now and my hopes of getting atleast an oz off her looks possible. I don’t have high hopes for her but whatever she does produce Is going to be strong 💪🏻😀
Down to the nitty gritty here. She’s been flushed and in her final days befor harvest. Trichomes are 30/70, hairs are over 80 and I’m itching to try her out! Not looking like a big yield However she looks like she will produce more than any other plant I’ve harvested so far from this setup. She can have the title until I trim and dry her tent mates anyways. 😀
Long time in the making but harvest day has come and gone now! Single plant came in at 36 grams dry weight with a nice hair cut. She was wet trimmed befor hanging for a 2.5 days. Has now moved into mason jars and is being burped an hour a day for the upcoming 3ish weeks. Got to try it yesterday and you can get the hint of strawberry befor the cough comes 😀. I look forward to it being fully cured now.
That about wraps up Stephanie the Strawberry Coughs. Thanks to those that followed along the way and until next grow ..... Happy Harvesting!
@@BeanswithPork,😀 she took her dear Sweet time but she’s starting to catch up the her tent mates do Si dos and cherry pie x Gorilla Glue. Strawberry cough beat them on top cola as I didn’t top this plant early nor did she get a green screen...... just let her do her 👍🏻
