The plant performed wonderfully to my abuse. Did some LST, some defoliation as well as some learning pains growing in hydro for first time. Was also nice having an AutoFlower, less concerns over the lighting schedule! After trimming and starting the curing process, I have noticed the buds are a bit airy, might be grower induced, none the less have to record it!

Reviews. Nutrient
Don't think I had many issues, slight nutrient burn on the tips for a time even though I was following the altered schedule from Growweedeasy.com. But plants seemed to do well on it, I don't have much to compare to though :D
Purchased to protect the roots... seemed to do the trick, didn't get any root rot that I know of!

Taste & feel will come - Got a chance to test it out, no negative effects personally, says dry mouth to make the profile green, but I didn't notice any negative effects. Overall this plant reacted well to my environment i'd say, I think a more seasoned grower could have done more as this was my first time in hydro I had my own set of challenges, but I enjoyed myself. Will have way more bud then I need personally so looking forward to sharing the wealth :) I waited slightly too long to start trimming... the stems and leaves became squishy and a pain to deal with the buds that I trimmed sooner after harvesting were WAY easier so will be sticking to that next time. So far wet weight is 147g on stem, It was nice having other growers able to chime in and help with comments when things weren't going well, the only thing I wish was available was an app so posting didn't all have to be done online through browser. Will stick with GD going forward though, was a convenient way to share the grow!.

Mate, you need to start feeding schedule right away. It’s not like soil. Did your roots touch the water yet? If not, give feed through the top until the root touches the water, then feed it through the bucket water. To make the roots grow and hunger for your bucket water, initially keep the space between the roots and water about 2-3 inches. Your airstones will bubble enough and it will condensate your roots so don’t worry about roots dying. Ph is too high. You need to keep it between 5.5-6 but I find that between 5.7-5.9 to be the sweet spot. Which bucket are you using? I like it. But remember, no light leaks through any creaks or your roots will turn against you and bucket temperature should be cold to cool >65F - <75F. If you use beneficial microbes like hydro guard, then they prefer temps that are above 75F but I have mine set water temp set at 73F and they seemed to enjoy it. You may want to invest in such things like hydroguard or make your own Heisenberg tea for your roots. They don’t like high temps without any support and root rot may come out nowhere. Cheers man I’m excited for you. DWC is so easy if you get it down.

@MaryJaneUSA, Thanks for the info! I have started the nutrients, I had read that they don't need it right away but the stem was going a little purple-y there so started the nutrient cycle. The PH it at about 6 now, I will be checking again in a little and make sure it hasn't changed and I'll aim for that 5.7-5.9 mark thanks! The bucket is "Root Farm" there's bars in between those removable panels so the light is blocked, I am not sure if I would fully recommend it yet but could update as I go. So far it's been hard to keep the reservoir temp down proper levels. I am going to get sheet of Mylar and make a cover or something to drape over, reflect the heat away from the bucket, and also will work to block any rogue light from getting in the reservoir. I went by a local grow shop as well and they recommended voodoo juice, so trying that out and will hopefully compensate for the higher temps. It's a bit of a learning curve going from the dirt to hydro, but I'm liking it!

Hey dude I am using the same bucket the best thing I found was that a cold bottle of water works not frozen the bucket by design is double walled with air between (if you get a chance look at it from the bottom) so it self insulates very well.

@Motherandson, ahh that's too bad! I see you had a question regarding moving it, for reference, I started mine in a rockwool/bowl/desklamp, and just kept the rockwool damp with warm water, then once the roots came through about an inch or so or once they'd touch the water I moved her into the bucket with jets on with just straight water, i didn't start nutrients until week 3 from seed with flora trio.

@Cypher, I have not gotten there yet, If you peep my diary you will see I had a catastrophe with it 2 seedlings died. I am doing a process of elimination changed to advance nutrients, and waited longer to put the seeds into the bucket.

@Motherandson, it seems to have come down a bit, helps the last few days have been a bit cooler too. Have you had any issues with roots and the bottle being in the bucket?

Yeah running back to reservoir
Cypher
Cyphercommented5 years ago
@Aquabuds, Does that affect something? I just read up on it a bit, makes the pH more unstable?
Aquabuds
Aquabudscommentedweek 75 years ago
Does your run off go back to the reservoir?
Cypher
Cyphercommented5 years ago
@Aquabuds, yeah it's an enclosed system, pump at the bottom to pull water up into 4 jets at the 1/4 marks around the top that spray the roots and it just cycles like that.

hey man looking good! switching to full hydro seems scary just because of the PH going up all the time how big is your res? and is it in your tent? i've also heard of ppl using ice in bottles in the res to keep temps down for cheap
Cypher
Cyphercommented5 years ago
@Lungren, Thank you! It's been a little intimidating, but nothing earth shattering, just different. PH was a bit of a hassle for sure, but i bought a pen instead of strips/drops so makes it a little easier. The res is 6Gal, yes it's in the tent. Huge pain in the ass, i tried last night to put aluminum tape on the top of it to reflect heat, i think it actually worked in reverse though and heated the res up more... may try paint next. I have used some ice packs to try and cool it but i am not familiar with how resilient the roots are with object hitting them after this tape i may need to do it again or swap out the res water here tonight.
