This Smoothie Auto was born in the middle of a heatwave in Europe with temperatures inside the grow space going up to 38°C, she doesn't seem affected by those conditions and it's growing well. Water only this week.
Much better week in terms of temperature control inside the grow box. Smoothie was moved to a prime spot directly under the Telos 0008 LED and soon will have more space around her to stretch the leaves as she grows 😜
Smoothie is growing well and getting bigger every day. I have started to tuck some leaves and removed 2 shoots at the bottom of the plant by day 20. Looking forward for the next weeks!
During Week 4 Smoothie started stretching and is now a bit easier to tuck her leaves than it was before. It seems that she would like a bit less nutrients in her water but overall she's going strong and happy.
I have detected the presence of thrip nymphs in the grow box and control measures are being put in place to avoid any future issues.
Very busy week at work, couldn't take as many pics as i would like to. This week saw temperatures increasing a bit, the thrip situation is still being dealt with and reduced nutrients concentration to avoid further leaf tip burns. Lowered the light to the distance recommended by GrowNorthern, Smoothie seems to be happy with that. Looking forward to see those budsites develop!
Week 6 went "smoothly", temperatures under control, still fighting with the most stubborn thrip nymphs but i'm trying to get hold of some natural predators to completely decimate the "squatters" population. Next weeks should be interesting to see, she's stacking nicely and i'm curious to see what she will become!
Vertical growth has stopped and Smoothie is now working on her flowers. With no lst this plant developed a generous main cola with a few satellite budsites, maybe on next run i will test how she grows "without" that main cola (no topping).
Rubbing her main stem i found a very sweet smell, like fruit candy. I bet she's going to have a delicious taste!
Week 8 went without issues, Smoothie is getting her flowers done and thrip damage seems to be contained to the lower leaves only. Light defoliation done and 2 lower branches adjusted on days 54 and 55. The space is starting to smell really nice, still have a bit to go but she is getting prettier day by day!
Smoothie sugary buds are still swelling and there are tiny bits of purple color showing up in the leaves. Nutrient feeding decreased on day 60, i'm planning to feed her water only from Week 10 until she finishes. In the aroma department Smoothie is quite discrete - she doesn't smell much until disturbed. 😜 She has been in a 20/4 light cycle her whole life and probably will end her very last days in a 18/6 or 12/12 cycle to allow her other 2 photoperiod companions to bloom. Hoping to see more purple!!
Smoothie buds still swelled a bit during this 10th week, she had water only since around day 60 and her colors are changing day by day. On day 69 some older leaves were removed, increasing the exposure of the large main cola to the light (which was raised 2cm around day 67). On that day Smoothie was also watered generously until runoff. She is a heavy drinker and sometimes when observing her frosty look i wonder if i dropped sanding sugar on her 😆
Smoothie's last week inside the grow box, ending a 11 week cycle. At day 75 her trichomes were a 50/50 mix of amber and cloudy! Harvest pics to follow 😜
