Hey guys! TheIceCreamParlour has been on a little break while we made some major refurbishments. The first 5 plants are now hooked up to the system and we are ready to go. These girls were transplanted yesterday into 6" Cultilene blocks with floraflex feeding blocks on a 12 hour feeding system. Fertigation takes place every half hour for 20 seconds meaning fresh oxygenated solution is being replenished frequently.
I'll keep this diary as simple as possible considering it's the first test of my home made feed system.
2nd week! And yes genuinely these are the same plants! Speed of veg has been fantastic despite terrible conditions. Fertigation has been the saving grace I suspect. I have a small issue of spider mites that I'm trying to correct with ladybugs but they all seem to die a day after they are introduced. I'm going to give them one more try then it will be a smoke bomb. Flipped them into flower today. More than big enough for what I want. Next lot wont be anywhere near this size. Also giving Mammoth P a try. Interested to see if it gives these plants any real benefit.
Any guys using Hydro systems give me an idea of your irrigation schedule. Feed levels, what brands do you use? E.C/PPM levels. I think I've got veg nailed but always seem to struggle in flower. Please feel free to give me some ideas. Thanks.
I run my pumps 24/7 and also have an air stone for 0. I use General Hydro for my main nutrients and Advanced nutrients for my supplements. I thought about switching to the ph perfect line. But I like having to check the ph it's a good excuse to open the tent and check everything out. Also I use UC roots by cultured solutions, it keeps the roots healthy and prevents rot. I have good local tap water so I just use that it around 130 pm . I don't know my median TDS but I have had it be as high as 1500 and the plants didn't seem to mind at all. Just always remember to add fresh water when toping up and do your weekly flushing and you'll be fine.
I use Advanced nutrients, their entire line is PH perfect and they have a app called bud labs that does all the calculating for you, just enter your nutrient and resevior size and it gives you exact dosage. (Weekly) another helpful tip is to flush your res the last day of your feeding Scedule before nutrient change (I use flawless finish) to prevent nutrient build up. E.C and PPM I never check because it’s all calculated to safe levels. Last but not least this is a nice new product to the market I am currently using to regulate the PH. I add distilled water, and nutrients, Done! Keep growing strong my friend! 💪🏾

She looks really nice. You have a good nutrient line up. I would recommend using Canna PK 13/14 starting mid bloom. Use for a week or two just to add more phosphorus and potassium to get those buds to bulk up in the last stage of bloom. I would stop using the big bud when using pk 13/14. Start supplementing with some cal/mag buds really need more of this to grow properly. Hope this helps.👍
3rd week dominated by the crazy stretch. Bushed up quite a lot too!
First and final prune done today on all plants. Cut out around 25cm vegetation from the lowest parts and also lots of centre/inner thin branches. These plants are way bigger than I expected so I can be a lot fussier with how I train them.
Dropped the Rhizo down to 1ml and added Big Bud for the early development. Plants seem to love it and all up praying. I've diluted the tank down to 1.3ec as all were looking a little heavy in the lower areas.
I'm expecting these to be pretty purple by the end of the week!
Putting this down as the 1st week of flower despite it probably being closer to 2 weeks. Makes no odds because I plan on pushing these until they die on the vine.
Added Canna Boost along with Nutrifield Bud Burst. My local grow shop have asked me to test the bud burst along with the boost to see what (if any) difference it makes. This strain is well established locally and has been grown by a few of my friends so I'm hoping I can match or better their efforts.
EC now up at around 1.6 with the additional nutes. Lots of sparkles and early trichomes showing. Res is due a change which I will do at the end of the week.
Yo! Week 2 Flower diary. Honestly I'm lost now I'd say it's closer to the end of week 3. I've done a full res wash, sterilization and refill ahead of adding another 5 plants. Even in one day I'd say I can see a visible 'perk' in these girls since doing that.
Now off big bud and onto PK. They were showing signs of K deficiency so I took that and threw in some PK and the results speak for themselves. Frost is now in full swing. Got me drooling at the already grapey terps coming from them.
Photos are poor this week as lights had already come on before I got to them. Will try for some with just the fluorescent on next week.
Week 3 also the end of the first week of PK! Girls looking really well despite God damn mites! I've introduced 2000 Phytoseiulus over the weekend and already it looks like the SM are about 60% cleared out. The @RocBudInc and @RoyalQueenSeedsRQS have been spread out due to my to regular seeds from @Compound_Genetics turning out to be 2 males. They have gone outdoors to live out and produce us some pollen.
That means the new @SplifSeeds Super Skunk can veg a little longer and have more space. Not sure what to grow after this so if anyone had suggestions then hit me up and we have 3 weeks to get the seeds.
Only getting chance to check the tanks every 2 days but a top up or water and nutes keeps them sweet. This week they went unseen for 3 days. The water was lower than I'd leave it, the PH had crashed down to 5.2 and EC up at 2.2. Tells me when I'm leaving them alone for more than 2 days the EC is too high for them and they only taking water. With the Mammoth P I think I can get away with running them at 1.5 EC and just dilute the solution down.
With that I'm expecting these to be draped all over the place next week as I've already had to yoyo 10 side branches that are getting both the 600hps and a few Kw of the 315 maxibright CHMs.
Soooooo this week is kinda the "trigger" week for these Grandaddypurple. The start of their 'purpling' is also an alarm bell for the 3 week mark. Meaning they have around 21-25 days left before chop. This means I've cut out the PK in favour of AN Overdrive. She will get 2 weeks on that, then the tanks will be diluted until they are water only for another 7-10 days depending on ripening. Daily updates going on my Instagram theicecreamparlour_. I'm still super impressed with these. They almost smell too much! Honestly I'm paranoid at how dabk these stink. Evertime I'm the room I have to shower before anything else even with a suit on. Had a couple issues early in the week with EC spiking. Flushed the system and kept nutes around 1.6-1.7 and it seems to have sorted itself out. Few early yellow fan leaves but that's common with these as they turn purple and start to dense. As always excited to see what next week brings.
Yo nailed it down this week should really be end of week 7 flower so 10 weeks total life. Sticking to the plant of1 more week nutes then see if they are ready for flush.
Dropped the Bud Burst. It really wasn't working with my tanks and causing a film to build up on the pipework. Flushed mid week with Pure Clean and fresh tank of nutes. Dropped to around 1.4ec and 5.8ph to finish up. They dont look hungry for anything at this point just changing to autumn colours and hardening up. I dont expect the size to change all that much but rather becoming more dense and changing of colours.
Now onto flush!
They finished up a final week of Overdrive, boost and base nutes about 1.4ec. Lots of end of life colour coming in. Barely any green on the mature flowers now so I'm going to chop them in a couple days and leave the lower sites until the weekend. Trichs are at about 30% amber. Smell is ridiculous now. Something like a cross between Ribena and Welch's purple grape juice. When I chop the tops I'll update this diary week with some extra photos.
