Hey all! This is my diary for a GG clone I grabbed off of my now close to harvest GG. Last grow i did not use my space as best as I could, which led to some mildew issues as well as way bushy plants. Currently am running 2 small grow tents. 1 for flower and 1 for veg/propogation. This is a max out "budget" grow. No fancy cob leds or $500 lights. I've had great success with basic nutrients, budget lights and city water.

I've had issues with PM in the past. Safers brand 3 in 1 seems to work temporarily but it always comes back. Also seems like it may deteriorate the trichomes on a flowering plant. RH 50% I currently am using a worm casting foliar spray and all is staying well. Any more tips?

Hey. First you need to completely disinfect the room. Wipe everything down with some hydrogen peroxide. Powdery mildew likes cool humid environment. You want to keep your temp around 80f and the humidity around 40%. You must keep good air circulation by using oscillating fans on the room but most importantly make sure you have a fan extracting air from the room so it stays fresh. That should stop it from coming back. Good luck!

Its been a great week. Plants are reacting very well. Decided to transplant my Crockets Confidential into 3L fabric pots, this will be there last home. My Gorilla Glue has been responding very well. Defoliated once after last weeks post then just as i was making this one. I will transition her into a 5L fabric pot just before she enter the flower room, given my space restrictions all around lol. If anyone has any tips or suggestions let me know! This is my "first" (technically second) grow where I feel like I know somewhat what im doing lol, but I am very open to constructive criticism or suggestions. Remember, this is a small grow. My veg tent is just 3x20"x5" and flower tent is 4x2x5, that being said this crop will likely end in 2 flower rooms. Its also a budget grow, meaning that it doesn't contain the whole line of AN, or $500 LEDs. I want to see how far these Amazon lights can go.

Made the transition to a bigger pot for my Gorilla Glue. Ill keep her in veg for the next 5-10 days before switching to flower, allow some root development into the new space. I have been keeping the lower branchs clean, I'm only interested in larger colas from this grow. I've kept 1 branch on the bottom to take as a clone. I like to live on the edge, and if I lose it, then it wasn't meant to be. Ill be adding a Meizhi 450w (200w actual) into this tent to have 350 true watts. The current light is branded as a 600w but only actually pulls around 150w actual. I've seen some really good grows using Meizhi lights so I'm excited to see how it goes. The Crocketts Confidential have been growing very densely and short. The leaves all look very healthy, but Ill be holding off on any nutes until I start to see a deficiency. I may have overdosed them when they were younger. I wont be flowering these for at least another 2 weeks, or until theyre at least 12 inchs tall.

So I came home to some mildew, damn! I thought I was done with that but it came back so here we go. I only noticed it on 3-4 lower leaves, and a small amount but it was there. I had a defoliation planned for this first week of 12/12 so they are gone, but I didnt snap a picture for a before/after. Ill be doing another defoliation between week 3-4 as well. Honestly, this just makes me excited for the next grow, because it gives me an excuse to go beyond the small grow tent in the corner of my HWT room. I will continue this plant all the way to harvest and show what treatments I'll be using along the way.

She has already recovered from the heavy leaf strip I did last week and getting bushy. Ill be doing 1 more leaf strip sometime next week. I set up a simple trellis net to start guiding it to become more flat. Not perfect but first time doing this so im happy so far! Powdery Mildew hasnt popped up again, yet. I know it will come back and it likely due to the area my tents located. Ill be remodleling this room next grow to keep the issue down.

Flowering is under way. Buds have formed now to watch them fatten up! Still having a reoccurring issues with powdery mildew on this girl but nothing severe yet. I've had to pull a few affected leaves. Nutrients schedule will change a bit this week as we transition to that mid flower stage. No more heavy defoliation from here, just any that block bud sites or become affected with Mildew.

Backed off on the grow nutes but kept bloom high. I may get myself another bloom nutrient as i dont feel this 3 part is very bloom orientated. Mildew issues have been mostly under control. Im in my garden when I wake up and in the evening so I can keep an eye on it. Right now I have been taking the leaves that show any mildew (1-4 every other day) but I dont want to run her too thin so this is only a temporary fix. If it continues beyond week 6 then I may have to try different methods like a h2o2 or milk spray. I've even been considering a UVC light but also understand the crazy cancer risk involved with them.

Buds are formed and starting to get some growth, but we have a problem. Some of the buds have coloring already going on, and most of the stems are turning or are already red. I have read that this means a phosphorus lockout. Im currently trying to raise the ph of the soil now as its reading in the high 5's and i want to try to put it into the low 6's. Hopefully that will help this issue. For this issue i also decided to get some extra phosphorus and potassium in the form of GH Kool Bloom. I know, mixing 2 different brands of nutes can not always be a good idea. But at this point, im here to have fun and experience these issues so I can become a great grower too!

Most of the leaf stems are red and i can see it etching into the main stalks. I've read that this can be a phosphorus lockout, does anyone have any tips or suggestions? Ill update with pictures of the stems soon.

Difficult to say for sure because you have stripped all the lowest leaves which would have given definite signs of which deficiency if any you are dealing with. Your upper leaves aren't really showing signs of deficiency. I agree with Spinner Caribbean your leaves are very dark green. Once in bloom your plants use less nitrogen if you keep adding it and the plant is not using it build up of this element could lead to the dark green leaves. Dark almost blue green leaves and dark blotches almost black with red stems is also a sign of a phosphorus deficiency. In terms of genetics red stems could be a trait of this particular breeders strain each seed contains different percentages of each trait. Also night time drops in temperature can bring out reds and purples in stems. While the red stems are a sign of phosphorus deficiency it is also a sign of potassium, magnesium and sulfur deficiencies. Back in week 5 your plants were showing signs of a sulfur deficiency. Yellowish leaves with red stems and purple streaks running up the main stem is a sign of this deficiency. You mentioned having soil ph issues I would suggest doing a flush with plain water with a ph of 6.0 to 6.2 then read the ppm and ph of the runoff initially coming out(First run off) This will give you a good idea where you stand. While using the runoff from your pot will only give you an approximate idea of the soil ph keep in mind that if the water goes in at 6.2 then comes out 5.8 you have a 4 point difference this means your ph is actually lower probably in the 5.4 range which is a potential cause for the lock out. If the run off is over 1600 ppm I would flush to get it down into the 1000 to 1100 ppm range. Then the last quart of water use your normal nutrient routine. Let her dry out a bit before her next watering. I would concentrate on giving her a flush then concentrate on bud building by continuing your nute regime adding the Kool Bloom to give her the extra phosphorus and potassium. You can try to adjust your future feed /waterings ph to 6.2 to 6.5 and keep checking the run off. Hope this helps to be honest I don't really see any major issues other than a bit of potential ph lock out.👍

The girls continue to fatten. Way down on the base nutes, hard nitrogen toxicity is showing. 1. Nitrogen toxicity. It was commented on my last grow question that the leaves on my Gorilla Glue grow looked like they were heavy in nitrogen. I did the research and it looks like they were correct. Dry crispy leaves, heavy dark green. They and now myself blame the full strength Advanced Nutrients, noting they are high in Nitrogen. 2. pH issues. I also started noticing a lockout isssues, like red stems. I initially thought it was a strain specific trait, but again was recommended to test my runoff - it came out around 4.5🤮 (on all my plants). Ive been watering heavy at 6.7 now with lime on top (also a new ph meter coming today). Hopefully will help. Regardless, this girl is still pushing energy into the buds and making some nice crystals. The powdery mildew issues is actually going quite well. Not very invasive, no longer leaf stripping either. Im using Safers brand 3 in 1. Placing a wet paper towel behind the leaf, i carefully spray it and wipe it down front and back. 1 week later no reoccurrence on those leaves.

Almost there. Took a look at her close up and most trichomes are cloudy. Added Overdrive this week to start that finishing process. Each branch has a really nice sized cola on top. Powdery mildew is practically dead in its tracks thankfully, meaning its not spreading. A bit pops up here and there, a quick but precisely guided spray with Safers Brand 3-1 and we are good. You can see it in the overshot on some leaves. This was before treatment. As far as the nitrogen toxicity, ive cut out the ph perfect line for her, minus 1ml of micro...i may even cut that. Notice how dark and thick the leaves are. I have a feeling that if I cut all nutrients now she would finish fine. Tell me what you think!

Just a bit of overdrive and koolbloom for her. Some patchs of mildew have popped up, still light treatments to keep it at bay. Shes still adding size and the trichomes are all clear so still some time on the clock

Flush time, home stretch! Trichomes are turning cloudy, no ambers yet. I expect to harvest in the next 5 days. Super strong smell, pine and citrusy tones. So sticky.

Bud washing is still fairly controversial. I do it because this is a personal crop, i dont have much time or space to toss a plant that might show a bit. Jorge Cervantes does it, so can I! Updates to come!
