Here we have an Acapulco Gold from Barney's Farm Seeds. I've always been a fan of their Amsterdam coffeeshop and thought i would give something of theirs a try. So lets see how this goes. she will first be used to make some clones and then we will see how she does.
Doing pretty good, its currently day 9 from popping the soil and i will begin a very light feeding regime from next week. Just chilling out in fairly good environmental conditions and you can stay tuned for more to update next week.
This one has been topped and will be in veg for a while as i will be using it for clones. She is coming along ok, bit more spindly than the others lol.
She is doing ok but has some deficiency in her leaves so i have decided to begin feeding her. lets see how she responds. hopefully she wont have too much of an issue after being topped.
Vegging nicely, Ive topped her and done some LST. She is opened up and we will see how she develops over the next few weeks. She looks like she could branch nicely.
Coming along well tbf, she has started to really focus on the branching after topping and looks very healthy. She will be vegged until about 9 weeks before she goes into flowering so she should be a beast.
This one is also doing very well but in desperate need of more room. She is waiting for the large tent to finish before being transferred. Hopefully everything will go smoothly over the next 2 weeks.
Ok, So the last lot hermied like mad and i just had to scrap the whole grow. It was incredibly frustrating but i imagine pollen got everywhere so i have decided to clear out the tent and wipe everything down and start fresh from scratch with brand new genetics and accept the time it will take to make sure it is done properly.
That being said, here we go... This is the Acapulco Gold i have had vegging in the other tent. She has been going for about 12 weeks now and has branched nicely. I will be stripping the branches over the next 2 weeks to funnel growth to the top nodes for more mature and developed nodes. I have the temperatures and general environment sussed now so everything should be smooth sailing from here.... fingers crossed. I have also transplanted into fabric pots ( 7 Gallon). I have also noticed that this particular plant likes conditions at 25 Celsius and 52% humidity.
Well thats pretty much it for this week guys, it is a shame about the disappointing previous run but we live and we learn haha. Happy growing to all and see you next week.
This girl is also doing very well! She is very healthy, has a very very short internode space and decent airflow. I really do prefer the fabric pots over plastic, they really do work much better. I have updated my nutrient line and switched these girls to 12/12, They should begin to start stretching over the next few days.
I still have some LST to do for her first few weeks of flowering and i am going to try to avoid defoliating as much as possible in an attempt to maximize light penetration and absorption. This should in turn increase nutrient and water uptake, with the improved airflow and added CO2 they should hopefully do really well.
I hope everyone is interested in the show, as always happy growing and i will update next week.
This girl is doing fantastically, she has a nice internode spacing and her leaves are nice and green. It even looks like she is praying haha, so her conditions are doing well. She has branched really nicely and it looks like there may be some defoliating and training still required, but worth it... so will be interesting to see how things turn out with her. She seems to be starting her stretch and looking very healthy. She is taking to the feeding quite well and it seems like the tent is comfortable enough for the girls to pray slightly and long may it continue.
I have dropped the feeding regime volume down to only giving small amounts throughout the week to keep her root base damp but not wet and heavily oxygenated. Lets see if we can get that metabolism going.
The advanced nutrient range has served me well in the past, so I shall be using a full contingent of the stuff to stuff these girls to the brim.
Stay tuned and happy growing.
This lady is getting big, she has just really began to start stretching in day 13/14.
Im not sure but it may have been slowed due to me doing a massive defoliation at the beginning of week 2.
She can take a large ppm and goes through water reasonably quickly and is looking very healthy, I have given her just straight water for the end of week 2 and intend to dry out the root zone as per the Green house seeds method to see if it really does trick the plant into starving slightly and increasing its metabolic rate alongside a massive oxygen boost there is also the benefit of removing any salt build up in the soil. She will get a nice big feed when dry and we will see if she produces lots of flowers.
That is pretty much it for this week, All happy and healthy so cannot complain, just need to keep an eye on everything and see how she handles the flush/dry/feed...
Happy growing guys, see you next week.
So, this week I was expecting some stretch....
Much to my surprise, I was left scratching my head as i have seen barely any stretch so far. I get she is a long flowering cultivar, but I thought she may have had an interest in reaching for the stars. No such luck!
She is taking the feeding well, spends a lot of time with her leaves up praying and seems nice and healthy.... so I guess I can't really complain haha.
Anyway, we shall see how she does over the next 8 weeks...
Happy Growing!
Well well well... things are starting to get interesting now. They have really started to develop their flowers now and putting on the Trichomes. Everything is mostly healthy but i did get a slight thrip problem. I have introduced some predatory mites to hopefully prevent this becoming a problem.
Other than that everything is going well and plodding along. Just waiting for the colas to really develop now.
Feeding still on the high end and loving it, I will be giving it another flush towards the middle of the next week just to ensure no salt build up.
Anyway stay tuned for more.
Im really looking forward to trying this cultivar, it is clearly taking the longest to flower but i think she will be worth the wait.
She takes the high feeds very well and seems very healthy, starting to produce trichomes properly now so will have to wait and see how things go.
Other than that nothing much to update, enjoy the pics lol
This girl is going to take the longest to flower, I am hoping she will be done in 10 weeks but it looks like she may go 11.
Either way she is happy and healthy at the moment so i just have to make sure nothing goes wrong haha.
Not much else to say other than she isnt much of a trichome developer just yet but hopefully we will see her pack on the white snow soon.
She is starting to get heavy... her colas are nearly tipping over haha. I have had to stake her up to make sure nothing goes wrong.
She is on her final couple of weeks of feeding and then the flush. She has really nice looking red hairs.
Stay tuned for the next update.
Well it looks like the whole tent wants to finish up at 9 weeks instead of my planned 10.
Thats ok though, I have started looking at the trichomes and they are mostly cloudy, some are starting to turn amber with a few others still clear. Just on the flush now and watching the girls fade out nicely. I will admit, it did look like they had already begun to start their fade whilst still receiving nutes. Im hoping this is its natural senescence and is the time to flush. If im wrong please tell me haha.
But not long now until the chop. Lets see how things go.
I really like this plant. she had some big colas and some large dense nugs. She is currently curing and i will update after she is ready.. now comes the hardest week of all haha
So far i have just cut and hung the whole plant to dry, it may take a while at 19 Celsius and 55% rh but should be worth it. i dont really weigh wet as i like to hang on branches etc and i do not find the wet weight at all useful lol.
Ok well she is so sweet, and has some nice big nugs. She just needs to cure properly now to bring out her full flavour. I will bring close ups soon.
@Budd7, That figure is representative of a per square meter scrog kinda set up. So they have a lot of plants over a certain area so it yields about 500g psqm
Hey man thanks for answering my grow question. I went with the other answer but am hoping your answer holds true also. It is only 3-4 seeds across 2 buds out of the whole plant. Its coming down this week now anyways.
