Hi everyone,
I'm real excited about sharing my grow on this site. I"m still waiting for my clones to get delivered but wanted to post some pics of the equipment I'll be using I took the summer off from growing because it gets too hot where i live. I used that time to brush up on my skills by watching Grow Boss videos on YouTube and reading his grow book (highly recommended). I also attended Harley Smith's online course at NPK university.
I cant wait to try out some of the new techniques I just learned but changing so many variables at once is sure to create unexpected problems also.
Wish me luck!
The Transplant 9/21/17
I set up the tent and tested it out, I learned that I didn't really need the carbon filter yet or run the inline fan since it only cools 2 degrees when running 100w of light. I did add a dehumidifier because I'm paranoid about powdery mildew.
I learned that each 54w T5 bulb I turned on increased the tent temp by 1 degree.
The transplant went well even though them showing up in riot rooter starts kinda caught me off guard because i had to go straight into 1 gal. I ran about 7 gal of 6.0Ph water through the soil and added microbes and Yukka extract to the final feeding. I'm currently running 1 6500k and 1 full spectrum bulb.
I'm unsure as when to start feeding the 3 in coco because i usually grow in soil exclusively and only use plain city water for the first few weeks.
I'm down to 9 plants from 15 at the start. I was really disappointed because that never happens, I blame the new source for clones that I used. I won't bash them here but I won't be using them again. I was tempted to just start over but am going to continue with 9 and see how it goes.
I've watered once on day 10, added a little cal/mag, microbes.
Week 3 Update
Day 16 Culled #6 and FIMMed the rest
Day 17 Watered about 1 gal total, added cal/mag. 5.8ph 260ppm
I'm down to just 8 clones from 15 and after much thought I've decided to switch my set up from a 2 light rotation to a 3 light rotation. Flowering only 8 clones isn't very efficient. So I'm going to start another batch of 8 to run concurrently with a 3-4 week delay. This way my harvests will be smaller but more frequent. Every 30 days if everything goes to plan. I've already ordered some Grape D clones which should be arriving today. I'll start a new diary for those once I've transplanted them.
Day 36 watered 6.5ph added cal/mag
Day 37 transplanted from 1 gal pot into 5 gal, moved into flower room but still on veg light cycle for next few weeks
Day 39 topped, lollipop, supercrop and placed a metal grid on top.
Day 1 Flowering, foliar spray with humic acid + kelp
Day 2 Canopy is 55"x 55"x 10"
Day 3 Feed with NPK, biostimulants and cal/mag 6.5ph 700ppm
Day 4 Supercrop and weave into trellis, broke 2 stems fixed with duct tape
The watering wand and pump was a great investment, saves a lot of time and labor
Day 14 Watered added SNS 209 + microbes + cal/mag 7.0ph
Day 15 Removed all flowers and leaves below trellis and installed a new co2 pad
Day 18 Foliar spray SNS 217
Day 20 Watered added cal/mag + PK 7.0ph
Day 21 Canopy is 60" x 60" x 14", Increased light to 750w
Day 26 Feed with PK + bio-stimulants + microbes + mag sulfur 7.0ph
Day 28 Added another Co2 pad
@juicepro,
A late welcome brother...
I like your worksheet. Wondering if you have a light meter? Better yet a PAR meter.
I think keeping track of your top canopy PAR reading is also very useful.
Just my two cents... What do I know, I just started this year and only started on my second strain a month ago.
I am actually trying out different techniques, organic vs synthetics, amendments vs compost tea vs straight nuets and so on. So if you want to test something out and don't want to do it on your grow please let me know and I will see if I can incorporate that into my grow.
Happy Growing,

@juicepro,with the Grow Book you can't do it wrong, everything you need to know is inside, that book helps you to stay away from problems, except one ... a massive trimming job to do when harvest 😄
@JUNGLE_B4RNS,
I am also in the GB cult :)....
Love his weekend streams...
I told him about this site a few months back and he liked it a lot....
Happy Growing brothers,

I don't live where you can buy clones... what's it's cost if you don't mind?
And PS, humidity in the 40s is too low... I have the same problem.. just got a sweet 200$ humidifier used took it home hooked it up couldn't figure out why it wasn't working... yea it's a dehumidifier 🙈😡
@JUNGLE_B4RNS, cost about $60 but a lot of labor cutting the pieces and enlarging the squares, Do you think I'm ready to flower or should I wait another week or 2 for the grid to fill out more?
@juicepro,
My temps stay between 79-83 lights on.. I had to get a humidifyer to get the humidity up to 60ish, that seemed to help.. but my shit still grows slow..
Check out @b4rns diaries he has a VPD chart that shows a good temp to humidity range scale that is easy to understand...
@Fun_Growin, mine haven’t grown much this week, I think the high temps are slowing them down. I have usually already transplanted into 5 gal pots by now.
Love seeing those leaves change, then you know it's harvest time..
Why do you trim your plants still in the pots? Do you let them go a few more days? Isn't that a huge pain in the ass?
Shit I'm so lazy I refuse to whole plant trim at all, I just use a drying rack, I don't have the focus or paciance for trimming the tree
@Fun_Growin, I find it easier to trim while it's still on the plant. I set the pot on a chair so it's high enough to trim while i"m standing up. It took 18hrs to get it all done.
I would say your ready to flower, your canopy is 85% plus filled and I assume the are spread out about 4x4... and your canopy is 10" deep or so it looks... I'd say it's time to let these girls become women
Whatever works for each person :)
I chop the plant down, cut it into single sticks, sit my ass on the sofa with a trim bin, some smoke and a cold drink and kick my feet up watching The Office on Netflix :)
