Started a Batch (09/01) this time with my last 2 CC seeds and a 2 year old Dinafem-Kushberry (feminized) seed I had in storage. I germinated then planted them directly in the soil they will remain in throughout the grow.
Today (09/08) I gave them their first water with Nutes (just calmag). Pictures include the Nutes I will be using (might add some others later) as Diablo Nutes is not available in the drop down menu. Ill be looking to Veg the Kushberry for a while and only bring into 12 hours near the end of the CC's life cycle as long as it does not get too big for the tent.
(09/12) Gave first dose of recommended Nutes (Micro, grow, flower)
Candy Cane #1 seems to have some twisting on both of its leaves (09/15/19), I believe this is due to over watering, I've lowered the amount of watering to once a week in order to have a proper dry cycle and one of the leaves has already sprung back to life. (09/18/19). The next watering will be 09/22/19.
All the girls are doing good and looking great. The plants are starting to get mighty thirsty and I may have to increase my watering to every two days. Pheno#1 of the Candy Cane is already showing tiny pistils and I will post a shot of them next week when they are more visible.
I topped the KushBerry plant this week (seen in 4th pic) as it is not an autoflowering strain and I plan on keeping it in Veg for a while and bushing it out.
All the girls are looking happy and enjoying the Diablo Nutrients I'm trying for the first time this grow.
Continuing to top the KushBerry until all 4 main stems are at the same level and ready to flower hard.
Next week I will begin to change the nutrients for the Candy Cane towards a transition to bloom cycle.
Thanks for the visit.
Cheers.
Normally by this point I often run into deficiencies ect when growing a new strains as well as using new nutrients. However all the girls appear to be looking healthier than ever.
Next week the beginning of flowers should be visible in the pictures.
The Smell is already very potent when opening the tent and I'm looking forward to it after curing is all said and done.
The 12 hour schedule is in order to begin flowering the Kushberry otherwise I would have stuck with 16.
Thanks for the visit.
Cheers
The Candy Cane plants are coming along nicely.
Tiny bit of nutrients burn on the tips of the leaves, will do a quick flush midweek to see if it helps clear out any excess salts ect.
Kushberry sprung up 6 inches overnight after these pictures were taken and as it is barely showing signs of flowering yet I cut it down to almost match the Candy Cane plant height.
Very concerned about the height of the Kushberry in the tent as it has just begun flower and the lighting can only be raised another 6 inches.
Thanks for the visit.
Cheers.
Candy Cane buds are thickening up nicely and starting to frost.
Kushberry is also starting to show its buds and is going to be a big girl.
Hoping to finish the Candy Cane within 5 weeks so the KushBerry can have the whole tent for late bloom.
Planning on increasing defoliation on the Candy Cane in the next week or so.
Thanks for the visit.
Cheers
Candy Cane Plants will be going into flush a week or two early due to the Kushberry over taking the tent and needing the room for its last month or so of flower.
Gave the Candy Cane their last dose of nutrients today (11/03)
KushBerry buds are starting to develop nicely and she has finally stopped growing height wise. Now for her to thicken up.
Thanks for the visit.
Cheers.
Candy Cane plants are ready to harvest with 20% amber trichomes just how I like it.
Just trying to hold out for another week of flushing due to it being a soil grow.
Pheno#2 surprisingly does have a candy cane like smell, with Pheno#1 having more of a bubblegum aroma.
The local growshop has THC testing kits for sale and I will be trying one out for the first time after harvesting the Candy Cane, will keep you all posted after harvest on the THC content.
The KushBerry is starting to thicken up although it has hardly any space even though its taking up half the tent already.
Should be able to spread out and gain some good weight in its last month after the Candy Cane plants are removed.
UPDATE (11/15/19): Candy Cane leaves starting to yellow and will be harvesting the two girls tomorrow. Will keep you all posted.
Thanks for the visit.
Cheers
Just harvested today (11/16/19). Wanted to get pictures of the harvest up.
Will update with report once dried and cured.
Wet weight of largest bud on Pheno#1 was just over 30 grams.
Wet weight after one day drying is pheno#1 coming in at 93g and pheno# coming in at 120g including stems
(11/21/2019) Buds are mostly dry and starting to cure.
Pheno#1 weighed in at just over 40 grams and Pheno#2 coming in at just over 59 grams.
After drying it looks like Pheno#2 is the clear victor in terms of weight as well as bud density and appearance.
Will update with full smoke report and review after a week or so of curing.
Just an Update on the last plant in the tent, the KushBerry.
After taking out the other 2 plants this tall girl collapsed without any support so I quickly strung her up and she is better now on that front.
In the past week or so she has started having minor Nitrogen Toxicity problems.
With only a week and a half left before flushing I may decide to just start flush early, the leaves should have enough food in them judging by the other plants flush.
Not looking to get too much out of this plant, if only I had the room for it earlier I could have trained her nicely and gotten close to a half pound.
At this point 2 ounces is my goal however I think it will be on the light side.
Still waiting for the Candy Cane to cure a bit more before writing the review, still not much of a smell or a taste yet.
