EDIT FROM WEEK 3:: I screwed up using my timer and it turns out these first two weeks were under full light 24/7. Didn't realize/remember there was an 'outlet' setting, probably used it while setting up and never switched back. Corrected and edits made Saturday August 31, 2019. Day 8: Thursday August 22, 2019 0630h No major progress. GG#4 looks healthy, green and moist. Soil smells clean and dry. Scraped more topsoil from TRCBD and found the healthy seedling. Covered with dusting of soil. Misted each plant ~200mL. Leaving vent open, temp seems stable at 26*C, humidity readings averaging 55%. Day 9: Friday August 23, 2019 0630h GG#4 is slightly taller than yesterday, with noticeably firmer stalk. Removed dust from top of TRCBD, leaving exposed to light. Seems firm enough. Hopefully the GG#4 doesn’t take off too much quicker, otherwise TRCBD may struggle with appropriate lighting in it’s shadow. Atmosphere is stable at 25*C and 50% RH. Would like to see that humidity bumped up to sixty or even sixty-five percent; considering daily wet towels or a larger bowl of water. Daily hot water? Maybe the diffuser. Leaving ventilation as-is for now. Outside temps have been cooling off these last few days, feels more like fall. Overnight lows of 10-15*. Day 10: Saturday August 24, 2019 1300h Both sprouts above ground and have shed their seed shells. GG#4 very tall and firm, TRCBD leaves opened up very beautifully. Watered heavily to try and increase humidity when I came home last night, around 0330h, but no noticeable change in average readings across my three devices. Holding steady at 25*C and 50% RH. Asking advice on humidity, been told not to worry so much and 50% is perfectly fine. [ADDITIONAL NOTE: harvested my outdoor male plant colas yesterday in plastic zipper bag. Left portion of the seal open to prevent moisture buildup while leaves and stalks dry. Hopefully some pollen will be salvageable and can be preserved for genetic research at a later date.] Day 11: Sunday August 25, 2019 1400h Both sprouts opening wide to the light. Atmosphere steady at 25*C 55%. Swapped water dish out for a much larger cooking pot, to increase surface area of water exposed to air. Also added diffusser with plain water on 6h cycles to get more mist in the air. Need to buy an oscillating fan before they get too tall as the small circular fan in one direction doesnt seem to produce enough air current. [ADDITIONAL OUTDOOR HARVEST NOTE: Great googly moogly the spiders!! Holy handgrenade do they ever blend in with pollen sacks or what!? Thank whatever gods exist that I left it all in a ziploc, hopefully none of those creepy little assholes figured out where the door was. Wishful thinking though, Im sure. Forget that crop and it's civilization of arachnid stowaways, it was just bagseed anyway. Immediately sealed and tossed out with the trash] Day 12: Monday August 26, 2019 0400h 25*C @ 56%. Both looking strong. Climate is holding steady, curious now about C02 levels and such. Watered thoroughly. Lights scheduled at 18/6 now, and will remain as such for the duration of the lifespan of the Tonic Ryder (autoflowering, should be done in 8 weeks). The plan as it stands is to then change to the 12/12 period to trigger the flowering phase for the GG#4. Day 13: Tuesday August 27, 2019 0400h No major developmental changes. Climate steady. GG#4 looking more green on the portions of leaf that were still yellow from being tangled up in the seed husk. Soil feels healthy and smells clean. Considering how I "hatched" these seeds I wonder if I have robbed them of critical stress during development that would otherwise have contributed to stronger growth. Something, something, butterfly cocoons etc. Too late to worry about that now. Day 14: Wednesday August 28, 2019 0400h No major physical changes. Foliage opening and looking less moist. Climate steady.

Why is the Tonic Ryder so much smaller than the GG#4 even though i started them on the same day in the same earth? Is it a function of the different genetics or am I screwing up?

It's all about the genetic , some strains are slow to start and some are slow to finish. Some strains are more vigorous than the others but it is not really a clue about the size of the future trees : the smaller could become the bigger

@AncientGreen, Ahh, i have to verify my email to reply! Sorry it took so long, eh. Yes, i figured since its my first time indoors an auto would be a nice starting point. The other one is a photo but i figure ill just keep vegging and topping and lst'ing until the auto is out of the way, then switch to 12/12 and flower the GG#4.
