My first grow :)

I have a small clip on fan for air flow at the moment but will be adding a inline fan and carbon filter once it starts to smell.

Soaked soil with pH 6 water.

Planted the seeds straight into the soil. which was premixed with perlite.

Day 1 (Tuesday 27 August):
First stems showed.
The stem of Plant B is growing at a right angle and I may drop that one depending on how the next 2 weeks go.

Day 2 Update:
Plant B has recovered and is the first to have shed her shell and exposed her leaves
The other 2 still have their helmets on but are looking long and healthy

Day 3 Update:
Definitely gave the plants too much water and will be not watering for 2-3 days to let them dry out
Leaves are looking good on 2 of them but the third has not opened yet

Two of them are growing great and are growing their 3rd and 4th set of leaves.
The one that was struggling has opened up slightly and has started it's second set of leaves. I hope she manages to recover further.

The third plant has developed it's leaves however they are significantly smaller than the other 2. The larger 2 are on their 4th nodes

2 of them looking big and healthy. They have small marks of the leaves which I think is from heat stress from their day in the sun

Topped the 2 healthy ones. Planning to start LST on day 18
One of my 3 plants is significantly smaller than the other 2. Her leaves are multiple colours. She was late to shed her shell so I peeled it off myself. She is still steadily growing however I have been unable to diagnose her. The photos of her are labelled "sick one"
Hi there, Check out my FB Blackberry grow I had one plant with the same but worse issue. The one plant you have with the variegated coloration probably has some type of virus. Possibly TMV (tobacco mosaic virus) It can come from the soil or if you use tobacco products that have the virus or use garden tools that may be contaminated etc. If she is strong enough she many be able to grow somewhat normal leaves faster than the virus can spread. You can keep her and see if she pulls through. Just be careful the virus can be transmitted through contact with the affected plant so wash your hands and sterilize all tools in 1 part bleach 9 parts water and soak for 5- 10 minutes then rinse clean. 👌
The sick plant I suspect to have TMV and has been removed from the grow space.
The remaining 2 are big and healthy.
They have been tied over since day 19 and are responding well to LST and topping.
Giving the plants a good soak every 3 days
All is looking well with the two remaining plants. Hoping they start their stretch in the next week
Pre-flowering has started and both girls are looking great. They have started to grow their first hairs.

I have added a quantum filter and inline fan finally. Will add some photos of the complete set up.
The temps are now down to under 30 which is great.

Both plants are looking great and healthy. The topping and LST has resulted in 4 main branches on the plant that is already flowering.
I have done a little more LST to spread 2 of the branches apart further.
The bottom leaves are drying up and yellowing a bit on both but I think that's normal.
I will changed the nutrients for the flowering plant this week and keep the other on growth until she enters preflowering
One of them is a bit late to flowering so I have switched the light cycle to 12/12 this week to speed her up.
Still feeding her the same growth mix.
The flowering on the second plant is going great and she's looking frosty. She is getting 3ml of bloom and 1ml of grow per litre.
Flowering is continuing and going strong. Plants are looking healthy. Nutrients are staying the same this week but will look to start flushing soon.
Pre-flowering has finally begun on the second girl. She is much larger than the flowering one with the extra 20 or so days of veg,
Flowering is almost done on the one plant. I will be using GHE Ripen 4ml/l and then doing a 2 week flush after that.
The other has responded really well to the LST and is looking bigger than ever. Some of her leaves are strange colours and I have added some pictures. Hopefully I can diagnose and fix her before she starts flowering
I've added epsom salts to the vegging plant to help with the leaf problem
@BonusPackage Magnesium deficiency You may need to raise the ph up a bit between 6.2-6.5 would be ideal
This will allow all of the nutrients to be absorbed better
Plants/buds look nice. The one plant with the light green looking edges it looks like a magnesium deficiency. Is this plant younger than the other two because it looks like its still in a preflower stage? Either way after looking up your nutrients I feel you may be having a nutrient "Lockout" situation. What's happening is you more than likely have an over abundance of either Potassium or Calcium or both which is locking out magnesium absorption. Even though shes in preflower you should still use a vegetative feeding schedule on her. They need more calcium/magnesium and potassium once they are truly in flower. If you give it to them too soon and they aren't using it you can wind up with an excess of them in the soil. I would suggest giving her a flush with plain ph correct water (2-3 gallons)measure the run off ph and ppm to see where they stand. I would flush her until you get the runoff ppm down around 300-350 ppm then add your nutrients to the last half gallon of flush water. You may need to feed her differently than the other plants until she is truly in bloom. Some time these nutrients make claims of ease of use but don't account for potential issues arising. To further explain the issue certain proportions of nutrients need to be followed to prevent nutrient lock out. Example: 4 parts of Potassium to 2 parts Calcium to 1 part Magnesium is the ideal proportions that need to be followed. Each nutrient excess has the potential to lockout the other. Since she is just starting to bloom you have a week or 2 to speed up her recovery. You can use a foliage spray of 1 teaspoon of Epsom salt (Magnesium Sulfate) to one gallon of water. (1/2 teaspoon Epsom/ 1 gallon of water etc.) Try to spray her until the point it's dripping off the leaves be sure to get under the leaves where the stoma are located. ** Do not spray her while she is under the lights it could magnify the water droplets and leave burn spots** Best time is just before you turn off your lights or very early in the morning before you turn on the lights. Put a fan on her and allow her to dry off before she goes under the lights. Do this twice a week until she improves. I would not suggest using this as a root drench because it could lead to another nutrient imbalance in your soil.👍
@BonusPackage, I've come across a few diaries on GD where growers have tried everything to get a plant to flower with no success. But sometimes breeders mix up seeds or substitute seeds so you may have a photo period plant to finish off after you harvest your auto. She looks like she's still growing and could become a monster plant at some point.
@Philindicus, thanks so much for this. Will definitely start treating her this weekend. A buddy of mine also thinks it's magnesium deficiency.
She is the same age as the other plant but she did not "auto". I changed the lights to 12/12 for a week and it's now back to 24/0.
@BonusPackage, was this the plant with the funky leaves? I've followed,a few growers that had plants like this some out grew the issue others didn't. Could be why shes a few weeks behind.
@BonusPackage, Its best to play it safe. It's just nice to know it wasn't anything that you did wrong as a grower.Stuff like this happens when growing.
@Philindicus,thanks for the help. After comparing her to other pictures online it looks like she might have TMV. I think I will move her out of the tent to avoid it spreading to the healthy ones
I would keep feeding them as long as possible she will put on the most weight during the last 2-3 weeks bfore harvest. I usually start checking the trichome color when 50% of the white pistils have dried and turned orange. When you see more cloudy/milky trichomes than clear you can start flushing. I find using a 40x jewelers loupe with Led light works perfect to see those trichomes. Amazon.com has some for under $15.
