I'm losing alot of leaves and am concerned. I am not about two weeks into flower. Not sure if its normal to lose so many leaves in a large outdoor plant during early flower. Losing about 20 leaves/day for atleast two weeks now. Don't my plants need their leaves till later in flower? This plant is in the darkest corner of the greenhouse and has always really struggled since I transplanted it there but I'm losing leaves on my other plant too (they both get watered/ fed the same.) Hoping for big harvests on this one!

I'm 2 weeks in flower &losing ~20leaves/day on this & my OGgelato (see diary). Yellowing in inner canopy/ all over, even top, not just older fan leaves. Is this magnesium def? OR what? I'm using cal/mag but my Nectar of gods PHup has calcium in it too. Should I be concerned?

Hi @S_Dubz, nice monsters in here! I think there's nothing to worry about, your plant seems to be auto-regulating its system, by getting rid of the leaves that can't get enough light. Lower leaves often fall by themselves especially after the preflowering stage where Nitrogen consumption was at its peak. Let's see how this goes with time but if it's only the lower leaves, do not panic, let the lower parts breath and make sure the whole plant has a good airflow. Let me know in the comments section if you need any further information, and happy growing! 👊

Cruising right along. I've got some inoculated mycelium coming up. Buds are forming and seemingly getting bigger each day. This is a super exciting time of year.

Went on short vacay last week. This week got one fan up and running, got two more that I'm adjusting or installing. Weather has been cold and wet, and we're expecting a week of solid rain. Had a slight nutrient burn last week. Buds are starting to stack.

Found bud rot this morning. Last week was solid rain and it seems my three fans were not enough soon enough. I'm disappointed with the product I've been using called "Nuke EM" which was sprayed weekly as a preventative. Removed moldy nugs. Now what? should I chop 2-3 wks early

Seems to be a lot of outdoor growers living in areas that are getting cooler temperatures having the same issue showing up. Moisture ,cooler temps longer nights are a perfect environment for fungus and mold, mildew. The rain and morning dew sitting on the plants isn't helping matters either. You are definately doing the right thing by removing the infected buds. I would cut a few inches below where it seems healthy. I would sterilize the clippers between cut in a solution of 1 part bleach and 9 parts water. Then rinse in clean water. May be easier to use two clippers soaking one while using the other. I would do this only when dealing with removing contaminated plant parts. Next I would perform a modest defoliation of the larger fan leaves to open her up for better air circulation and so more sun light will reach her. Don't strip completely. There has been some success in using Bacillus Subtilis to combat Botrytis cinerea and other fungal/bacteria rot in plants. https://www3.epa.gov/pesticides/chem_search/reg_actions/registration/decision_PC-006479_9-Aug-06.pdf#targetText=Bacillus%20subtilis%20strain%20QST%20713,bacterial%20spot%2C%20and%20walnut%20blight.

Hope I was able to answer your grow question. Feel free to message me anytime. Look forward to following your grow. I would be careful of spraying anything chemical on your buds using a biological control would be your best option. If it doesn't control the issue you would have no choice but to chop her early unfortunately. It looks like you have her partially covered I would try to keep her as dry as possible. Hope this helps the specific strain is Bacillus Subtilis QST 713 non-mutated /non-genetically modified. You would use this as a spray solution on your plants to help combat your issue.https://www.maximumyield.com/beating-botrytis-how-to-identify-prevent-treat-a-common-crop-ailment/2/1261 👍

@S_Dubz, I hear you about the freaking out your getting so close yet so far from harvest. Not knowing exactly what strain is causing the bud rot lend to the issue. I had one grower who thought it was bud rot then opened up the bud after removing it and discovered a cabbage worm was creating the damage. If it is a true Botrytis this is spread in the form of spores that can spread very easily just by contact and dripping water, hand contact, etc. If you have a local university agricultural laboratory some time they can test it and tell you exactly what it is and suggest alternative treatments. In terms of doing some defoliating I would strip the leaves completely from the lower 25% of the plant then thin out the center/middle of the plant just to open her up a bit. Finding the right strain of Bacillus Subtilis is the key some strains work better than others it is not cheap also finding fresh products that haven't been sitting on some store shelf for 5 years or cooking in the back of a shipping truck for 4 days age and heat kills microbes. Maybe next year you can add it into your routine as a preventative. Like I said the season isn't over and a lot of growers in the northern areas are already dealing with similar issues. If more shows up just trim it off. Keep in touch.👍

@Philindicus, also, any tips on defoliation and how much? Thank you kindly

@Philindicus, I was previously worried about wind burn (ha!) because my fan setup is sorta intense. I've been keeping fans off at night. NOT no more. don't care about wind burn anymore!
