We (J&T) are starting our first grow. We each have an identical phototron setups with 6-50w 3500k bulbs and 6-24w 3500k bulbs with an e26 socket up top, each. We bought 2 packs of fastberry and received a free pack of fastbuds BlackBerry from the recent promotion on HDSC. HDSC rocks btw, really quick communication and recieved my beans in less than a week. We've decided to do a little best 2 outta 3 competition with 6 of the fastberries with the phototrons in a small room until we get everything else up and running and we'll be chronicling the competition here. Starting today (9/6) we have 2 FB seeds germinating. When they pop, they'll both be placed in seed plugs inoculated with great white in 30ml solo cups. When rooted, they'll be going into a mix of light warrior and ocean forrest in regular Dixie cups. And then into 5gal felt pots for their final resting place. Havent fully settled on nutes yet, but a local caregiver I work for swears by advanced nutrients organic line and his meds definitely speak for themselves.
We're both absolute beginners to growing so any tips will be absolutely appreciated. Sorry for the rambling, I've been smoking on some lemon haze lmao
Some phototron pics, some seed pics, and some weed pics!
(9/10 update) Good news is J is going crazy, bad news is the husk on T was a little to hearty and refused to fully allow the tap root to escape. Gave her a little help, hopefully she takes.. if not, we've started germinating another fastberry seed just incase. Also, sourced a 3rd phototron so hopefully we'll have some room for a 3rd anywho. Happy tuesday!
The lower main leaves are losing color quickly and have small spots forming. It came out funky from the get go, but this also happened to the first true set and I just pruned em. Now, its moved onto this set. Last picture is the problem leaf.
Yellowing leaves from bottom up can indicate a nitrogen deficiency. Looks like you are feeding a root stimulator and then bloom nutes. I’m not sure it will have high nitrogen content. But I would always test the soil ph before deciding how to progress. Bad ph can look Like different nutes deficiencies, because it locks out different nutrients, depending on the ph level you are at. I found that over using a root stimulator’s beyond the first few weeks set me up with high ph last grow.
@Ferenc, we've had a box fan in there since we started, after doing a little more research, it seems best to no run them with all of the bulbs. The idea is to move the lights with the plant as needed. I think next time around, I'm gunna spring for some COB leds since we'll be doing small autos for awhile. We can legally have 72 plants at the house so we plan to ramp things up eventually, but for now, we're keeping it small lol
@Ferenc, thanks bud! Looks like we're gunna be starting a battle with heat now that we've got the trons up and running. Check the rooms this morning and it was in the high 80's 😟
Hi. I had similar issue with leaves. Yellow spots, then later turn brown and the leave fall down. Maybe they need calcium and magnesium. I get a improve from my last grow giving calmag supplement from week 4.
Good luck.
@fullauto, that's what I was thinking so I picked up some calmag yesterday. Just waiting for the pots to dry out a bit and then I'm gunn hit em with calmag
