CRiSPrGrow Hi everyone, well I got excited when i saw the fast buds outdoor competition, i just wrote them a message all like "what strain do you recommend?" and they wrote back every strain i didnt have so that s like green crack cali snow, some other ones, i'm kinda bummed but it's whatever plenty of fastbuds in the fridge so i try to get set up and literally on the day i want to start i get a hat and those strains in the mail so i was like damn thank god i send my address to people on growdiaries lol #safetyfirst My set up is pretty simple i'm using a 5 gal pot branded AZTech Genetics, seems it's non woven and fairly decent quality but what do i know ? 😅 anyway i'm sort of honing in my technique but i ran out of micro nutrients so idk what's gonna happen, let's see what i figure out on the way. that's later on, right now my plants got 15gs of trychoderma, myco and bacilusses mixed into the soil, planted one seed straight drop, didnt sprout, actuvated two more seeds in smart protein solution then planted one and it cracked the surface the same day, covered it and let it sit. Planted random companion plants with the weed this time, i think it's really exciting how you can see all the little sprout coming up at the same time. Let's see how this goes, last year i had spider mites and inchworms 🚀 Day 7 i've watered 1L 3 times this week with 1ml/L smart proteins each time, first watering and all the seeds sprouted, by the second watering i noticed the two other cali snows also popped, now i have three plants in one pot which i need to separate... does anyone want/need an extra seedling or two? hit me up before you drop by to pick them up if you want them ! see how all the companion plants and the cali snows are growing robustly? basically with the bowl on top their making their own atmosphere i'm guessing it hits the high 80s in RH inside there, 80RH 29°C .... when i watered them i intentionally left some on the glass bowl, the smart proteins have optical properties but i dont know what they are yet ha ! on to the next week, peace ! 🚀

CRiSPrGrow Well i found all three seeds sprouted end of last week so i had to take a couple soup spoons and dig out the seedlings. What i found this week is that maybe there's N excess or a hot soil, something to do with the cold or the rain or because of the humidity I'm not sure what's going probably everyything at the same time but bascially i started noticing the cotelydons turning yellow i thought maybe the smart proteins was too strong because i was basically eyeballing it but i'm figuring that it's simple over watering, i've watered three times with smart proteins one tablespoon per 1L . Beyond that i repotted the seedlings with the same amendments in the soil and some of the companion plants from RQS. The cold temperatures at night and the limited light hours during the day are really limiting these little plants. I've stopped watering them but it rained twice this week in addition to my overwatering. THe plants themselves are struggling but surviving , the companion plants have blown up and are doing great ! 🚀

CRiSPrGrow Well i overwatered last week and these are outside so i didnt end up watering at all this week i think there was some light rain two or three times. Beyond that plants are growing well, one of them is overrun with the companion plants actually so that's no good. I asked my buddy @Korfer and he told me to take some out, what do you think? looks crowded but maybe the plants like having friends i dont really know. Any the weather is less that optimal, the plants arent getting watered and i noticed some bugs and pest damage on the leafs already so i'm not expecting much. Had to add a support to one of the plants, the little thing pushed out too many leafs now it cant fully support itself. I tried some leaf tucking with the companion plants but it didnt really work out. so a plastic knife it is... Advice is welcome about the companion plants, if you do have any ! veg is so long isnt it? 🚀

I would take all of them out , why have them taking nutrients and water ? And you risk more mould issues , can I be honest and say it would be quicker and better to start again 👍

CRiSPrGrow Watered each with 1ml/200ml once for each plant top of the week. Weather is now sub 16°C in the day time, i'm guessing the seedlings are hibernating for the cold. Mostly it rely on the rain to keep these drinking but i notice when the weather gets cold the plants drink less, anyway seeing their size looks like they really dont need much right now. most of the plants got attacked by some leaf eaters, nothing that major though, one of the plants is showing some burn, but nothing i can do about that... Basically on cruise control and i'm not really taking care of them. Companion plants seem like they're slowing too but less so than the cannabis plants. i pulled on pot marigold because it was just so huge, otherwise it's handsoff basically. Wish these poor plants good good luck - they really do need it ! 🚀

CRiSPrGrow Still not really taking care of these, it rained a few times and the temperature are all over the place with highs of 25 and lows of 5 on some nights, most days are 15C or less . gave one pint with a few drop of smart proteins in it to each plant. the first plant is showing signs of mold on the lowest fan leafs for some days, seems a consequence of the cold. the older plant is all bent and stuff from getting kicked about as a seedling you can kinda tell... Plants seem ok, kinda strange the difference just one week of nice temps does to the growth. Still in veg, but i see some progress on the first plant. The others are kinda locked out for the soil being hot and stunted as it's so cold. Hit me up 🚀

CRiSPrGrow Well it's not getting warmer so it's really no wonder what's happening : water mold, colder temperatures putting the beneficials in hibernation allows the pests to invade and run amok. Younger plants showing signs of root problems and cold stress at this rate these will be ready either at the new years or they'll die young like too many of our South American brothers and sisters - one love stand together ✊

CRiSPrGrow Whoops, forgot to water these last week.... seems like the cold is killing the bugs one of the plants looks like it's not really doing that bad although really slow.... it's been a while now maybe i'll feed , but probably not, thinking about my festive halloweed entry, hope to see everyone joining in ha, lots of creative plays ! the temperature dropped a lot end of the week so it's only getting worse from here on out ! 😂🚀

CRiSPrGrow So i did water them at all for the last three weeks or in other words for the last 6 weeks lol. They're doing great growing super well , LST worked out great looks like these are going to be STRONG and BIG YIELDERS. How long do you think i have left? i cant wait lol two of them are showing beautiful fades and fall colors and the first one looks great just starting to fade. I think this grow will be a great success. Maybe next week i'll feed with some PK + more K and like ten different kinds of additives , let's see i want fat flowers. maybe if i do stem splitting it will make it super strong even more than now? seriously i dont know why folks followed this diary but i really appreciated the fun and the advice - learning by growing

You should throw some ladybugs on it as an experiment!

Man oh man, with my temperature, on should be growing Stardawg in Thailand. Would this strain tolerate moisture?

CRiSPrGrow commented6y ago
@Med_in_Tropic, i think unless it freezes too many days in a row this plant will keep going through march and april 2020

Slowly I turned...step by step, inch by inch...😁 I think your companion plants are a little too aggressively growing and stealing all the available nutrients or something...like weeds.

Hey man! Well it looks like I am late to the party and you got some good advice. For cover crops, generally you want a nitorogen fixer (like clover) but you always want to make sure they are smaller than you canna plant until the cannaplant grows tall. Then, generally in flower, the cover crop dies due to lack of light and the nutrients go back to the soil. It is a great system if you have the pot popping with life to decompose the junk. Have a good one! G

You could protect the baby from the cold with a transparent plastic bottle without the bottom, remove the cap to let in air, to adjust the flow, up or down on the ground the bottle bottom, to have a small space. I always do it in the winter outdoors... Good luck Bro🍀, God Save the Green 🌲🌲🌲
