Whats up everybody! I'm interested in your favorite automatic indoor watering system. I want something that can do top watering drain-to-waste in not too long of a time span - no slow continuous drips (no blumat etc). Any ideas welcome, prefer DIY! Even water distribution is key

I have no experience with auto watering system BillMonroe but I can give info on what I would do if I wanted to set up something like that. I would get a reservoir of some sort let say 5 gallon bucket for this example. Get a submersible water pump, a timer to set when pump to water, some 9-inch halo water ring, some t fittings, and Hydro Flow Barbed Ball Valves. Put Hydro Flow Barbed Ball Valves between Halo ring and t fittings to control water flow so you can even out watering to each container.

For a dyi top feed system your possibilities are endless. You can get an adjustable flow submersible pump for like $13 on amazon and just use a bucket or storage tote as a reservoir. I use 1/4" poly tubing to distribute water. You dont want to use valves or drippers because they clog up a lot. Plug your pump into a timer and you are good to go. You can use a cheap aquarium air pump to keep your reservoir oxygenated.

@Wicked_Stix, Thanks! I actually remembered I had one of these 265 gph ones. I wanted to make an aeroponics cloner once but never got around to it. I just hooked it up and it seems like it would work a charm; the flow of water is greater than I had imagined. Looks like it should be able to water these guys nicely. My pump's outlet looks the same as the one you linked, 1/2". What's your recommendation to go from a 1/2" tube to multiple 1/4" ones? I'll be watering 5 pots at most, but room to expand for some other plants would be cool. It seems like the barbed ball valves mentioned by Cbalderson60 would solve any problems of uneven flow.

@BillMonroe, here is a link to a good budget pump. The 265 gph should work unless you are watering more than 5 plants then the 400gph will probably do 10. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0757K5CZR?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title&th=1

@Wicked_Stix, Thanks mate! I like the simplicity of that. Yeah I definitely am not looking for something that could clog. Looks like you have a great system going! I will check it more tomorrow :) you know, I never knew how to size a pump for a system without experience. but now I realized there are adjustable pumps like you said... that should make things a lot easier.

Wow 39.37 inches in a 1 gallon pot.! Ok I'm gonna follow along 😁

@Cosmic_haze, haha thanks mate! When I kept SSH clones in small cups I noticed I could get 3 strong branches from it. I figured a 5L pot would be enough to do something like this. Last plants I grew in 25L pots and the roots did not occupy that much of the peat at all. Now it's a different story. However, I will pot these up to about 2 Gallons for flower. in these pots I'd be watering them every day or multiple times per day during flower :) Also, the calcium buffer from lime in the peat is totally gone at this point. Adding some peat around the root mass helps a lot. Now I have to feed with calcium nitrate.

Looking strong mate. Good luck. What I noticed about zambeza girls, that even on early veg, leafs covered with trichoms and l can see them with no extra shit, just with my eyes.

@smoking_hills9, Thanks dude! :) After looking at some grows it seemed like one of the quicker strains. The Pineapple Chunk I grew last year had my favorite tastes ever - with the stem rub on these I'm already getting the essence of that particular smell... I think this pineapple genetic is something special when it comes to taste. This is the first strain I'm actually needing the filter in veg. We have a long ways to go but it's damn impressive so far. I definitely need to pay attention to those trichomes =) I also never saw so many pistils from a vegging plant as with the lemon kush (just my personal experience of course). I have not grown as many varieties as you so I am really curious what you will think of the critical and pineapple 👍. For sure the critical I would grow it any time again
