Day 0: Germinated a seed in URB for 25 minutes and planted straight into soil instead of using a jiffy pellet. My last few tries with jiffy pellets caused me to go through more seeds than I wanted. Let's see what I can do with this Barney's Farm beauty!
Day 3: we have liftoff!!
Day 22: she’s really starting to take off! Almost ready to top the 5th node and I’m not even in 1gal pots yet. I will probably transplant her in the next few days and move her to the led closet.
Day 29: I have topped the 5th node and transplanted into 1gal fabric pots and moved them into my closet with two 150w LED until the tent is ready in the next week or so.
Day 36: THRIPS!!! I discovered I was infested with thrips in both tents and all of my new babes. (I suspect I brought them in with my outdoor grow) I harvested the plants and cleaned out the tents and treated the new babes with Spinosad and the thrips appear to be eradicated and the new growth is nice and healthy. Onward!
Day 57: she is really loving the 7gal pot and has responded very well to LST and I’m pulling the branches apart using plant tie downs and attaching them to paper clips at the edge of the cloth pots. This plant is a stinker!! I can’t believe how much she stinks at this size. Just messing with the leaves stinks up the whole room!
Day 64: things are looking good! Very stinky and lush green leaves. I installed the screen and will let them grow up over the next week or two before flipping them to flower. This has been a pretty quick run, so far. I’m glad I installed new charcoal filters since this one is going to be a stinker!
Day 71: she’s really starting to fill in the scrog now. Every day I tuck leaves and move things around in an effort to keep an even canopy. She’s really a pungent plant and is very very healthy!
Day 77: I’m a little late on the defol this run, but I did a major defol and lollipopped most branches and took off a ton of fan leaves. I’m flipping to flower tomorrow, so the timing works out. She’s a beauty and a stinker!
Day 78: after the major defol yesterday and seeing the positive response today, I decided to set the timer to 12/12 and get flowering underway! The time has finally arrived! I’m looking forward to this one!
Day 85: Starting the second week of flower. Fed EH early flower nutes and still feeding 1/2gal per plant every two days. I already see pistils on the tops! The tent smells delicious and nutritious!
Day 92: on to flower week 3! The buds are on their way! Big difference from last week. I did some minor defol, but will do a larger defol at the end of this week. The tent is really pungent when first opened. Whew! Feeding early flower nutes this week.
Day 99: just finished week 3 of flower and did a major defol throughout the week and while I left a little underneath, I made sure all bud sites have adequate light and aren’t being blocked by any fan leaves. I’ll probably start feeding mid flower nutes this week since the buds are growing nicely now. This is a very stinky plant! Very pungent. My fingers really stink after handling the leaves!
Day 106: the buds are well on their way into mid-flower. Just starting week 5 of flowering and she looks and smells great! Definitely more sativa traits coming out, so it may take a little longer to harvest. I’m hoping the buds become giant heavy monsters that need my yo-yos!
Day 113: The tent is explosively stinky! This plant is so pungent that it knocks me back when I open the tent. The buds are growing big and tons of trichomes are forming on the fan leaves close to the buds. Feeding week 5 Mid Flowering nutes this week.
Day 121: Beginning week 7 of flower. It will be a good 3 weeks before harvest, from what I can tell. The buds are really fattening up now and the smell is outrageous! I haven't needed to use any supports, but they may change in the coming weeks. Feeding week 6 late-flower nutes this week and may throw in some Rock Resinator through the finish. I've been doing some selective defoliating where the buds are congested and blocked by fan leaves. I can't believe how sticky they are already. My fingers were pretty much stuck together after trimming a few leaves!
Day 128: She is ripening nicely, but still a couple of weeks to go. The pistils haven't started drying up yet, so I am continuing late flower nutes, but adding 5-10ml/gal of Molasses for Plants on water/urb/cal-mag days. I suspect she will go a full 70 days of flower, unless she ripens very quickly. Huge colas on this plant and the smell is just outrageous. I mean all plants stink, but this plant...woo! She's packing a pungent punch that's almost overwhelming. Still watering 3/4 gal every 48 hours. I'm also defoliating here and there where there are lower clusters of buds that I just can't separate and trying to do the best I can with those. I know they won't be ripe underneath where it's so dense, but at least the tops will be nice.
Day 135: The buds are really fattening up now. There are some humongous colas on this plant! The resin is so sticky that your fingers practically stick together if you merely bump a top while checking on things. Insanely amazing smell! A few more weeks yet, but I'm beginning to see some color change in some pistils. I'll be letting this one go longer than usual, I suspect.
Day 142: Holy moly has this beauty exploded! Foxtailing all over the place and HUGE buds. Colors are changing quickly now and it won't be long before harvest. Probably another week, maybe 2 at the most. I can't get over the size of these colas and the SMELL....absolutely intoxicating!! This is probably my best run yet with Barney's Farm. I am hoping for a huge yield. It was so hard to choose the best angle for photos this week. Every bud just looks spectacular and is glistening with trichomes. I don't want this one to come to an end! Ok, yes I do haha!
Day 149: 'twas the day before harvest and all through the house, was a great smelling plant ready to be chopped! Tomorrow is the big day, so I took some pre-harvest pics to capture the best of the best from this run. I would have liked to have flushed a bit longer, but the amber is setting in and I don't want too much couch lock. The colas on this plant are absolutely huge! I have never seen buds this big in my two years of indoor growing. I hope she smokes as good as she looks!
I’m extremely pleased with this Harvest. Having been stricken with thrips at the end of my last run, it was nice to see an issue-free Harvest. I did everything the same as I usually do and it must be working, because I just harvested the biggest, fattest, stickiest buds I’ve ever grown. I’ve had some big buds in the last two years, but nothing like this. Genetics? Probably. Either way, the buzz is fantastic and makes you feel great! I harvested with only a hint of Amber on the bud trichomes, but the leaf tips had a fair amount of Amber. I wet trimmed and hung to dry in a cool closet with a space heater outside the door. Took about 6 days to be ready for the jars and I still have to leave the jars open for a few hours for a couple days to bring the humidity down a bit more in the 62-63 percent range.
