Hi everyone! I'm here with my first grow, lets see what happens... Any tip will be well received! The main idea is to use the scrog technique in order to optimise energy resources and the obtained harvest. I'm going to put 5 plants of Chocolate Haze by RQS in a square meter grow box with a 400W HPS bulb.

I'm having some issues, specially with temperature and air humidity. I thought the cold was going to start with the arrival of september, but no, so I've got very hot plants. Cause of the heat and the increasing of temp given by the HPS bulb, the relative air humidty descends between 20 or 30 %, getting a final humidty of 35-40%, thanks to an improvised humidier made with a tupper, a pc fan and some water, as you can see in the pictures.

Hi everyone! One week more, or one week less, depends on the pov :). I think that is a good week. The plants grew between 10 the smallest to 18 cm the tallest. The worst issues were the temperature and the air humidity as the last time. However the humidity kept between 40-50% so was not so bad as the last week. This week I decided to give them between 3 and 5 hours more of solar light every day.

Hi @Wolvex! Short answer: yes it is bad for your plants. Once a plant is used to its light schedule, it will look for light during those hours, and if the photosynthesis process detects a change in that schedule, it may generates hormones disturbance. The plant may create blooming hormones and trigger the flowering, or it may start to change its gender and become hermaphrodite. Less than 12 hours of direct light everyday and it will bloom for sure. Despite what have been said by others, I've made some experimentations with light schedule on autoflowers and found that even autos are sensitive to changes in their light schedules. So once you set your timer, keep it on the same track, until you want to trigger flowering. Hope this will help, let me know in the comments section if you need any further information, and happy growing! 👊

Hi everyone! This is a week of changes. Firstly and starting the week I made the fist FIM pruning once reached the 4th node (5th node pruned). I don't have clear if I was do it well for 2 reasons, I don't see a clearly stop of the vertical grow and I don't see (at the end of the week) the division of the main stem in 2-8 stems, here you have some pics of that FIM. Maybe I have to wait more to see the changes but this is my impression. The only relevant thing that I have seen is the start of the growing of the secondary branches (the branches of the nodes). Secondly and almost at the end of the week I changed the plants pots to 5 L cause I saw a well ratio of roots. And for the last, I made some LST for 2 reasons. One of them is to stimulate the access of light to the secondary branches. The other is for saving the difference of heigh between all the plants. Meanwhile, during the week, I was doing a rooting juice with lentils, preparing the change of the pots. Here you have the recipe: /-/-/-/-/-/ ROOTING JUICE /-/-/-/-/-/ { 1 volume of lentils (for example a cup) 4 volumes of water (4 cups) Let 8 hours in order to hydrate the lentils. If you put it in the night, before sleep, remove the water in the next morning, but don't throw it away! keep it. The lentils are going to increase their volume due the roots so don't use small containers. You should cover the lentils container with a rag or other cover, but don't forget let the lentils breathe with some opening. The rag is breathable so you dont need to keep any opening. Next morning put this keeped brown water in the container with the lentils about 10 minutes. Then strain it and keep the water another time. Leave the lentils another day, we want to see long roots (3 cm is OK). If you have 3cm of roots in the next morning, you got it, if not, repeat the process one or two days more, the process depends on the temperature of the environment. Once achieved, put the keeped brown water with the germinated lentils and crush it all with a blender. If the mix is too dry, add more water (only the necessary). Next strain the mixture. The dry part can be throwed to the composter or the trash. The liquid part is our juice. You can water your plants with this juice reduced with water in 10 times, that is = 1 part of juice + 10 parts of water (previously adjusted in EC and ph). You can keep this juice in the fridge for 15 days or 2 weeks. } The last task of the week was watering the plants with this juice, lets see what happens. Talking about the bad sensations, the humidity level was decreased another time between 20 and 30%.

Hi mates! This is a good week! Humidity level is increasing, temperature is decreasing and my little plants are really beautiful. Since I changed the pots and watered them with the roots juice they seems to show an exuberant grow. I keep tying them and pruning them (TOPS and FIMS) as I see them grow. The last time I pruned them was on saturday, maybe is a too short time since last time, but I don't want see too high stems. I still don't use fertilizers in addition to the humus mixed with the soil that I used when changing pots, mainly because the don't seem need it, they are showing a beautiful green. Take into account that I used an all-mix soil (biobizz).

Not too bad week. Temperature keeps decreasing and humidity increasing. I can see how the secondary stems have just started to raise due the last FIM prune. If you observe carefully, you can see at the correct FIM prune how we get more than two bifucations of the main stem. I cut some leafs in order to get more light for this lower secondary branches. Im thinking on change the pots another and last time, maybe next week, after this I could put the net.

From my point of view, this week has been apotheosic in terms of growth. That FIM prune, that leaf prune and that branch lateral spreading of past week has caused a large number of heads to be produced. So I though that this is the moment to change the pots and give them some awesome roots juice (one interesting thing of this roots juice is that it was down the ph of my water until 5.8, being originally 8.5). I used the rest of the soil that I bought (more or less 70-75 liters) and I added half a kg of TOP CROP guano and more or less 4 liters of earthworm humus. At last!, THIS is the moment to put the net. I have made the frame from PVC pipes, some duct tape and some cord. For the net I used plastic wire braiding it between the abscissa and the ordinates of the frame as you can see in the pictures (sorry me for the overexposed pics but the lamp has just started when I'm finishing it, thing that I greatly apreciated because I was starting to get blind xD). We have 14 rows and columns to separate 1 square meter, so more or less we have 7 square cm holes. Now I'm going to spread more and more all the stems until at least 50% of the net be covered. The main idea is to cover the net by spiraling with the main stems, so that each stem looks for the next plant in the periphery plants and the central plant simply extends to each plant from the center. As the net is more covered for the nearby part to the door, I will lead the main stem of the central plant away the door, just in front. Thats all!

This week I was prepared the plants to make a trip to Amsterdam. So I made a leaf pruning in order to get more light and less shadows for the stems during the time that I was out. I think next week it will be prepared to put into flowering, since, the main idea was to cover 50% of the mesh before moving on to flowering.

Approximately I changed into flowering in the middle of the week, so they have 4 or 5 days florering. Although the temperatures still falling, humidity falls too about 12-15%. However, I managed to fill the net in order to get more heads for my harvest, I only need a little bit more of density. I keep defoliating too to get more light for the new heads. Thats all!

This week I have seen a freezing in terms of growth. May be possible due the lack of humidity and the continous defoliation that I'm doing in order to get more light for the heads, I don't want to see any covered. By the other hand, now I can appreciate the first small flowers.

This week was a good week, I could appreciate a vigorous grow of the plants and buds, since I leaved defoliating (I think I reduced the stress of the plant by doing this). I keep just watering the plants, downing the ph using lemon juice, and alternating with a banana peel tea because I want do it the most organic possible. Anyway remember that the soil is full of bat guano and earthworm humus. Of course, I'm a begginer but I don't seeing any lack of macro/micro nutrients so this keeps me doing the same week after week. By the 5th week I'm going to start using Green sensation of Plagron to boost a little bit my flowers, following the bottle instructions. If there is any nosey about the banana peel tea, it adds a good amount of potasium and phosphorus to your plants, wich is a perfect bloom estimulant. Follow the next recipe to make one: For about 3 liters of irrigation water, you will need: - 5 peels of banana (you can freeze them, is not needed to eat 5 bananas each time you want watering) and slice them. - 1 liter of water - A spoon of honey/molasses/sugar Boil it by at least 15 min, but I prefer to keep it between half and hour and an hour. Strain it, be sure of extract well the juices from the peels, there is the best substance. To conclude, mix the tea with 2 liters of water and you have it. I think isn't necessary to say that you have to cold the mixture, you don't want to cook your roots. Cheers!

Because I'm little worried about the size of the flowers and their resin, I started adding green sensation of plagron, lets see what can do. As you can see I'm waiting to the last moment to watering, in order to stress a little bit my plants and get more resin.

I'm having troubles to upload my photo/videos. Concerning the plants, they keep going as always and I'm keep using my banana (and potato since now + honey) juice to watering them. I'm also adding green sensation following the manufacturer advice. Humidity and temperature are getting better as winter comes.

I am a little bit worried about its flowers size so I've duplicated the green sensation dose from 1mL/L to 2mL/L due I haven't using any other fertilizer apart from the banana (+potato+honey) juice . These photos are intended to take a look at the state of their trichomes, since, according to the variety information, there is only one week left to be harvested (although I do not believe it). Lets see what happens.

Although we have arrived and exceeded the time to harvest according to the breeder's specifications, I have decided to keep them under the lamp a little bit more in order to see a last push. Furthermore I haven't seen too many amber colored trichomes so this helped me to maintain it. I don't have the right tools to observe them either, so I'm somewhat hesitant about the time of harvest. Maybe I'll cut the biggest ones and keep the little ones a little more under the light. Anyway I saw that pure sativas can stay flowering between 100-120 days so I think I'm not so wrong.

I think we have not obtained an abundant harvest for what it could have been. Of course, I would like to point out that the variety, despite being a bit slow in growth and flowering, is magnificent. More accurate would be to say that many mistakes have been made and it has not been known to extract its full potential. However, we are here to learn from both our failures and the failures (and achievements) of the rest of the Growdiaries community. Among some of these failures we can highlight the lack of humidity and temperature control (at that time, it did not have any humidifier / conditioner), the lack of food in favor of obtaining a more organic crop and perhaps a bad training of our plants. On the other hand, I can say that, despite recognizing a low production, for me it has been more than enough since at this moment I do not consume a lot. In addition, it has an exquisite flavor and a very strong sativa high. In short, I am very happy. Here ends our story, GD community. Thank you very much for all your advice, see you in next experiments, I'm looking forward to the next one. One clue, treats about MICRO GROWING.
