Purple Gas in a Glass

So what better than a little friendly competition! Me and @Silky_Smooth got to talking about solo cup runs... max potential yield ect... and when it was all said and done we decided to go head to head on the solo cup challenge! First and foremost I wish her the best of luck and hope her garden stays blessed! I will be running Humboldt seeds purple train wreck up against her Pinkman goo by weedseedexpres! In a grow off using just a mere solo cup filled with medium as our life support! I will be main lining this bitch to utilize all her resources into a manifold of concentrated energy! Precise branch structure to allow her 8 main colas defoliated to just top buds coming outta one cup! Gunna be a real site to see! Going to be using my advanced nutes regime broken down into micro size doses to suit the minuscule container! As u can see shes a well developed seed baring plenty of markings and the great dark earth tones that show good viability! Shes now germinating in paper towel in a ziplock bag that's stuck in a cool dark cupboard! Cant wait to get this show on the road! Will update as she pops a tap root and again on day 1 when she surfaces out the solo cup! Happy growing and stay lit fam. ***UPDATE So after the first 24 hrs I swapped the crappy paper towel first used with some quality paper towel! And in 24 more hours we have a tap root! Into the cup she goes! We will have our sprout soon to begin this challenge! Happy growing and stay lit fam. ***UPDATE So after 48 hours in the cups medium we have a sprout busting to the surface! And opening its cotyledons! So there was a total of 4 days time from beginning of germination in the paper towels to a sprout in our cup. Wonderful viability from Humboldt as always! As week 2 begins for our purple trainwreck lady We have stopped the morning misting and lowered the rh a bit! Shes developed a big enough root system now over the past week to support herself without needing excess moisture in the air for her leaves to absorb. We have added a layer of clay balls to the top of her cup to add extra stability to the main stem for when we start to top and tie her down, to mainline her and form the structure of our manifold! we lowered her lights 6 inches! We have introduced her to nutrients and she has responded quite well to them. Shes drinking her full cups supply in 2 days... but that wet to dry cycle will certainly start getting much more frequent as she throws out mass. This is certainly going to be no walk in the park so join me on this test of strength, skill, and patience. So this girl made quite the spurt this past week and jumped up a few nodes and threw off a bunch of new leaves! So we decided to make a quick start to our mainline and we topped her at the third node and defoliated the starting single bladed leaves. We gave her a increased nute dose last feeding and she responded wonderfully to it! We dropped the lights 6 inches to support her increased growth. We needed tie off points for the mainlining so I crafted and attached a makeshift trellis on the cup! I think it will do just perfectly. So were doing a update on our "Purple Gas in a Glass" (purple train wreck solo cup grow) Shes doing great moving forward with her mainline training! Shes already been topped once and has picked back up growth fairly quickly. So we removed all growth tips below our manifold point(where we topped) to focus her energy on just her top 2 mains. We left just the fan leaves below for added support for photosynthesis. But once those 2 new mains have some foliage of there own those leaves will be removed as well. Once those mains have some length to them they will be tied down at a 90 degree angle exactly symmetrical to each other on each side of the main stalk. Thus creating equality to both those colas. And starting our manifold hub. She will need to be topped and tied down at her mains 2 more times to create our 8 cola mainline. All 8 branches coming from the same identical point on the plant and all of the same height. Creating unity throughout are whole plants growth. It's a beautiful thing. Than I gently bent them over without tieing em down... to get the plant used to being bent! I will tie em at a 90 degree angle in a day or 2 more worth of growth! Will update than! Happy growing and stay lit fam ****UPDATE So were back working on our purple gas in a glass!!!(purple trainwreck solo cup) And her HST mainline training is plugging along great! Since the last update we gave her a solid flush with flora kleen. That flushing agent eliminated salt build up on her tight tiny root ball. And cleared out unused nutrients from the medium. Once she dried out we than gave her a feed of our nutrient formula to appease her little diet! We will do this atleast once every 3 weeks too keep those constricted roots as happy as possible in there solo cup. After the flushing and a couple good days of growth. We got back to the manifold! We removed the last 2 fan leaves off the main stalk... as the 2 new mains have enough foliage to support themselves! Than we tied our 2 mains down to our trellis at a 90 degree angle. Our branches were pre broken in over the course of a few days. By bending them over every time they stood back up. When we tied them down we made sure both branches were exactly level across the horizontal axis... creating symmetrical balance and unity in there growth! Amazing what u can do with these plants. After we made our first 90 degree tie downs we than topped both the mains. And than there were 4 mains! When selecting which node to top ur mains at. Ur looking for a node in the same spot on all mains that has its growth tips growing from the side of the branch being toped . As opposed to the growth tips coming from the top and bottom of the branch when its tied down. This will insure even height of all ur new mains as opposed to having to bend and twist the growth to get them level and growing even. Were going to let her recover now and grow out those new mains again. Before we do this whole process one more time! I dont know if its the strain or our timing but theres been zero down time between topping and training sessions! We once again defoliated the lowest set of fans on the mains. The mains have enough foliage of there own to support themselves. Those leaves would have just been in the way anyways... and prevent us from making a accurate and precise 90 degree tie down on all the 4 mains. We created exactly even tie downs to keep the manifold in a level and even alignment. And maintain our symmetrical balance. We bent the mains in a 90 degree angle down and a 90 degree angle out ! We Bent them out as well this time to spread them out and get the mains running in a circular formation around the main stalk. Remember we are going to be topping each main again very shortly leaving us with 8 colas to space out. So we gotta get the spacing going as we form the structure of the manifold! Having mad fun with this beautiful genetic beast in her solo cup!!! Will update in a few days when I top her all up!!! Once they were all back too nice level and even we than gave all the colas a topping! That's the last set of snips we are going to do. So she bounced back instantaneously after having all 4 of her mains topped! This strain responds tremendously to topping and training! As if she truly enjoys being pruned and pampered! Once again she tried to flex her muscles on us... bowing her branches and hindering our level even manifold. As ive stressed before its essential to continue to straighten ur branches and even up your manifold often to maintain the integrity of ur mainline training and keep your symmetrical balance. Her growth is all growing even and identical due to our persistent straightening. We will continue this until the new growth tips are large enough to work on themselves. We will spread them out by tieing the off around the stalk. Will update with her progress again very soon. So we let the mains grow out and turn up over the past few days. But I was un impressed how tight together they turned up! So I straightened the limbs and re tied em down to further space em out. I know I said last week was the end of veg and we'd be on to flowering this week. But imma give this girl 1 more week to stretch those mains , turn up and achieve better spacing this time! So after a few days the mains had once again turned upright, but this time with perfect spacing to allow the buds to grow and not be right ontop of each other! So we flipped her to 12/12 to start her transition into flower! She stretched a little over the next few days and gained a node on each main. We switched her feed to a more flower transition suited feed but went a little heavy I guess cuz there was a little tip burn. So we dialed the big bud down from 2ml per liter to 1.5ml and our b52, and sensi cal mag xtra from 1ml per liter to .75 . She responded wonderfully to the reduced feeding! So after her first full week of 12/12 we have had a bit of a stretch but no signs of flowers yet... not even pre flowers! Going to hope shes just being a late bloomer and roll along as is for now at 12/12. If no signs of transition by the end of the week we might try something more drastic like 10/14 or 48 hours of darkness to get her going. Haven't thought that far ahead yet as we are being patient and going to give our little cup princess some time. So we got solid branch growth and used it to our advantage. Trained it out and adjusted our ties to keep her completely even. Got no transition to flower yet after 2 full weeks of 12/12 so we are going to flirt her into it so to speak. And reduce her light another 2 hours a day untill we see some preflowers. The nutrient reduction was just what she needed and has been happy n tip burn free ever since 💣 Let's get this girl going! Until her next update happy growing and stay lit fam!

We got pistils and flowers starting! The week of 10/14 was just what this stubborn lady needed to be teased into blooming. Now that we got her going we are back at 12/12 and shes getting better light hours. We lowered her lights just over a half a foot cuz we dont want her limbs stretching out anymore as we are done our training. The lowered lights will also increase her lumen consumption and help boost along her flowering. As blooming has higher lighting demands than veg. We removed her homemade trellis to let the branches free! We are done manipulating her growth and dont want the limbs choking themselves on their ties. The stretching period is basically over now anyways so vertical growth will have settled right down anyways. We are gunna let her do her thang now. Nutes have been treating her nicely so we haven't changed her intake at all. Shes still maintaing a wet to dry cycle of 36 hrs to my surprise. But it's a good surprise at that... less maintenance than I expected up untill this point in the game. So this lady is in full swing with her bud development! Adding more depth, mass and character to her flowers daily! She just had to be motivated to bloom lmfao. Buds are developing in unison, and every cola looks basically identical. Which gives me a great feeling considering the daily pampering I gave this lady along the way to achieve exactly this kind of equality through out the plant. She has gotten much thirstier over the last few days and her wet to dry cycle is now at the 24 hr mark. Weve been doing a PhD water day than a nute day... so on and so forth. Bud development and structuring is in full swing now! Calyxs and pistils are tightly bulking together! Very low leaf to bud ratio is giving the flowers a beautifully dense appeal. Trichomes are steadily frosting out the bud portions of the flowers And giving even some of the fans a healthy coating as well. If resin production is already going off! We could be in for some nice solid resinous chunks from this solo cup girl. That purple gas In a glass saga continues with her next update! Until then happy growing and stay lit fam! She is pumping out the pistils and packing on the calyxs! The buds are bulking up nice and tight to make solid, dense flowers on every branch. Resin production has stepped it up a notch and trichomes are really starting to cluster up throughout the plant. BLING BLING! Shes been still kicking at 1 watering daily and for the most part shes been super happy. We just rotate from nutes to Ph water ever other day. BLESSED. Had a little light cycle fuck up over the holidays... a timer malfunctioned and It was 2 days between times i was there at lights off. So potential of 48 hrs lights on YIKES! No consequence as off yet thank God but fucking timer rawr lol.... All out progress has been great! I hope we gain alot more mass over the next few weeks of flowering cause we are nowhere close to done bulking yet. Than we still have the swelling phase Muhahahah. Damn those flowers are getting dense and oh so frosty! Buds are looking like balls of sugar, making colas look like lollipops! She continues to throw out new pistils and bulk herself up. Shes got a little more bulking left in her, And itll be on to the swelling! Than we will see these flowers fatten up even further. We switched up her diet a little... n changed a few things around to better suit her stage of development. Shes still just getting watered once a day... her thirst hasnt increased much as of late. The flowers are getting sooooo dense and sparkling! All the trichomes are cloudy but still waiting on the Amber's to start showing up. Once we get first sign of amber we will start our flush. So after a decent amount of flushing time for the little solo cup with flawless finish. We decided to harvest her top buds at about 90/10 cloudy to amber ratio. We planned on saving this pheno cause she was absolutely glorious! So instead of chopping her at our usual 70/30 ratio... when are plants are completely faded out! We decided to chop a bit early... to salvage as much healthy foliage as possible! We only took her top bud on every cola. Leaving all lower bud sites to become reveg shoots... for her second life... and part 2 of her saga. Make sure to check that diary out! From solocup to monster crop! We completely achieved what we set out to do with this grow! Despite the laughable yeild amount... and that was to achieve solid bag appeal density and bud production from a solocup. In my opinion I produced that. Now she gets her chance to be the full sized wonder she deserves to be! We smoked a .7 of a gram joint an got lit AF. Sooooo fucking relaxed but a super heavy euphoria it's like the best of both worlds. Hence my 60/40 ratio. She tasted super earthy but had a very kushy undertone. A very unique flavor and I quite enjoyed it. The rest of her flowers went in for extraction! And produced a couple points under a gram of pure fire concentrate! I was shocked at the pull! Pumping out a return of almost 25%! A real extraction machine I will say. I cant wait for her full size run! Cuz we will be pumping out that golden blonde good stuff!
