Fun week, so i harvested the first shroom , randomly it was ready before the others, so this is when i realized that the "McKennaii" strain is most likely a Penis Envy strain, this PE strain seems to be chosen for it's speed and density of flush as well as it's pretty much uniform fruiting bodies. This whole week i was misting up to 6 times a day, had some doubts if I have gone over the RH limit for fruiting, i think i did as you can see from the fuzzy bodies and bases. cut back on misting last day of the week. dried the first fruit harvest on that mat then when about half it's weight was through i added it to a dessicant shoebox, it's 1.3g now, getting jarred and hopefully will be able to make some slides with it. Later on in the week i thought three mushies were ready, i probably took the little one too early. Blue flesh of the gods ! Delish ! ๐
Hehe @CRiSPrGrow I used to do that. Ordered from wholecelium.com the strongest alien one. It will be nice and then you can repeat more times 2 or 3 times. Good Luck mate! @CRiSPrGrow, 100% agreed! The shroom, ginger, lemon, honey combo I swear by. I put all my friends on it after I was tripping w a buddy and it was his first time and he insisted on eating them instead and he threw up half an hour in and didnโt trip at all. What a waste.

Is that trippy mushrooms? In Scotland they grow in the wild, I get them in my garden every year! My dad was a hippie so I used to go out as a child looking for them ๐ I took them once and vomited everywhere for hours and started thinking the bathroom walls were coming in on me haha talk about bad trip, never again ๐ Iโll stick to weed ๐
@GanjagrowingGal, lol that does sound awful, if i'm eating them , i'll have them fresh, never more than 10gs at a time (1g dry equivalent) , any more than that is too much for my comfort lol folks will have four or five times that and meet jesus in person , come back all shook lmfao
Is there some kind of odour when you're growing these? If so what exactly does it smell like? I did shrooms a couple times and tons of acid about 25 to 30 years ago so I'm familiar with the effects :P I'd probably have a heart attack or some other health problem if I did them now!
@Jwjoh, never quickly enough though : what i learned is that mushrooms need RH 99 and fresh air to grow so be ready to spray and fan multiple times daily ... actually you dont need light at all beyond "a trigger" ... so growth rate is a function of how humid you can keep it before the mushrooms start , then you got to keep it 80-90 RH otherwise the mushrooms dont grow right.

@PEAKYPLANTERS, ha, yeah man in europe it's free to access for sure, you can even get fresh ones delivered. i almost got a 2.5 kg "family pack" delivered once ๐ like just for the jokes and experience of it... check out the @zami_official zamnesia.com website... you can even get cactus there , ayahuasca , absinthe , all the wierd ethnobotany stuff, it's actually pretty impressive and for sure one of the things i'll miss about europe . this is the kind of thing once you do it yourself you never buy it ever again
It's been several years since I've grown them but after inoculation my cakes I left her in the dark until the entire substrate was colonized and started to pin it took a few weeks then put them in indirect light. Just my 2-cents.
@CRiSPrGrow, I did the PF Tek with vermiculite and organic brown rice flour. I just bought some organic brown rice and ran it through a coffee grinder until it was like dust. Then I use Kerr short wide jars they are kind of tapered so the cakes came out easy. I just used a clear sweater box with a couple of inches of perlite saturated with distilled water and a small amount of hydrogen peroxide then sat my cakes on shallow yogurt tops sprinkled with a bit of damp vermiculite on top of the perlite. Then used a rubber weather seal on the top edge I only needed to mist them a couple of time a day. I got around three flushes of shrooms it works out pretty good. I've seen some guy using rye berries or even f-in birdseed to grow them. I'm down in Florida so most people just go out in the cow pastures a couple of days after it rains then pick fresh not really a market for them down here.
@Philindicus, actually just a pre made kit from @zami_official and a $50 microscope ... i got discount lab stuff lol : stains for the slides and a basic scalple and petri dishes for the agat ... havent even bothered doing my pf tek yet doing it tomorrow
@CRiSPrGrow, It looks like you have some professional scientific grade products your using. When I did it I was sent syringes preloaded with spore print material in sterilized distilled water. All I had to do was sterilize the needle tip then inject my cakes. It was very low tech.

never tried to grow these before.
But we used to grind up about a gram, mix with melted choc
and put into little molds. Took a trip without leaving the farm(so to speak)
Masked the taste pretty well.
Getting to old for those anyways, I will stick to some good herb๐
