kicking off 2nd grow with 2 clones of ak47 and 3 green crack seedlings. Using growplugs with rockwool to seal the grow pots; full high pressure aero system; 4 nozzles @50microns per container. Cycle time: 7 seconds on / 5 minutes off Some minor nutirnet burn on tips at 400ppm; might drop res to 300ppm for week 2. Bottom of containers are showing 550ppm before run off to res, which signifies more water is being absorbed then nutrients.

#10/20 Beginning of 2nd week and looking good overall. Left side is a regrow experiment and the smaller plant is a clone from ak47 last grow / right side is new green crack seedlings with 7 days from original propagation. 1 plant from each strain will be going into new tent and become perpetual "mothers" and kept in vegetative for future cloning and growing using a standard low pressure aerponics setup. This will allow a SOG or Srog grow in future by pulling clones from the mother plants. Roots are looking perfect; the aeroponics creates a fuzzy root with lots of tendrils when compared to low pressure or standard hydro. -Dropped TDS down to 400ppm, nutrient burn on tips and dark leaves solved. Will keep at 400 for week. Water is at 70ppm from tap; so technically 330ppm of added nutes. -PH dropped to 6.0 instead of 6.5 with PHdown; gives a bit more buffer on upper limit. -Cycle time dropped to 5s-on/5m-off; roots had larger droplets due to over-spraying. -Added a pro-co2 bucket to the tent. Made a minor difference on co2 levels, from 400 to 500-600 average. In week 3; will be adding a second LED light. Supposedly they are 3000watt/2000watt from FAMURS; I would say they are closer to 800w equivalents. They pull about 500-600w from outlet and are super sensitive to height / distance from plant. Bright side is the heat generation is extremely low; only about 10-15 degree difference in air temperature 2 inches down from light. Notes on setup: FAMURS 3000W LED, has built in time controls for light cycle mistking pump, mistking repeat cycle timer 50 micron nozzles; 1 tank using mistking super expensive nozzles / 2nd tank using 50 micron "cheapies" from amazon. Hydronix ISF-10 Inline sediment filter; keep the nozzles from clogging from root droppings. #Update 10/23###################################################################### PH 6.1 PPM 445 CO2 600 Temp 72F Root production is looking great, plants are very healthy (updated pics). Amazing how a couple days and you can see a notable difference with aeroponics. Seeing ppm levels go up slightly as water shrinks in res; 445ppm from 400. Will keep at 400ppm on next fill up unless i see this number start to trend in negative. 2nd LED added to tent; slight temperature spike to 72 degrees from 65; will monitor. This actually might work perfect for flowering; as when the LEDs are off i get a 10 degree swing back to 65. Tried sugar and yeast to get CO2 level to spike; raised by a whole 50ppm. Might just give in and buy a CO2 bottle or propane burner setup.

########Update 10/29###################################################################### PH 6.1 PPM 625 CO2 600 Temp 72F cycle time 4mins-off/9seconds-on Week went fairly smooth with no real issues; the grow is looking healthy overall. The left side clone and re-grow experiments are looking a bit odd; but not overly worried about them; as long as they don't hermie on us. 1. PPM level started to drop consistently over the last week, started targeting 600PPM vs 400ppm. Even at 600; seeing a 50pt drop over 24 hours. Will slowly raise to 700-800ppm over the next 7 days and monitor. 2. Had to increase cycle time on aero spray. The roots where drying out a bit too much during off cycle. Dropped 1 min of off time and added a couple seconds of misters. Might add 1 more nozzle to the container on right side to give it 1 nozzle per plant. I do leave about 1/8 inch of space in bottom of container to allow accumulated over-spray before it cycles back to reservoir. This allows an easy marker on if your over-spraying and can measure tds directly from root zone. About mid-week the bottom was bone-dry, so adjustments where made. 3. Will target a topping on main node this week; planning on 1-2 more weeks of veg then into flowering. Aiming for a 1.5-2 week recovery time after topping before flowering cycle.

###11/5 update#### PH 6.0 PPM 800 CO2 600 Temp 72F cycle time 4mins-off/11seconds-on # Progress is looking good; last week of pure veg; switching to 12/12 in 1-2 weeks for flowering due to growth height restrictions. During change-over from veg; complete system drain and flush planned to wash any salts out. With aeroponics this tends to be less of an issue from RES as very little water makes it back. Considering running a separate drain off tank and main RES to measure both volume and ppm levels. Probably next grow cycle. Thinking down this line; I could run 3 tanks 1. Fresh nutes 2. Returned nutes 3. Fresh water Then cycle time Fresh water cleaning once a week. Raised PPM and cycle-on time; nutrient ppm in res started slowly dropping mid-week.

###11/20 update#### PH 6.2 PPM 918 CO2 500 Temp 72F cycle time 4mins-off/11seconds-on Light cycle: 12on/12off Another great week, switched over to full bloom cycle with 12/12. Some minor trimming but otherwise fairly hands off at this point. Now the exciting part happens! notes: -Ladies are sucking up a solid 14 gallons a week now. -Smell is getting strong, this would be a bad apartment strain(s) without heavy ventilation. The charcoal filter I have only makes a marginal difference. -Res cleaned out on last cycle. Will clean out flower basins this week and get rid of a nutrient / salt build up. Tend to flush a bit more towards end as the nutrient dosing get higher.

Leaves are fanning upwards and undergrowth is huge in flowering phase. Should i be worried about the upwards fan, should I trim on this point or just leave as is and just remove dead leaves?

When mine get to this point, I deleaf anything that doesn't have trichomes showing or are laying ontop of another bud..the flower auxins are in abundance and allowing a higher par down deeper into the canopy can really help out lower bud development. One rule I follow is to avoid removing more than 30% of the canopy on any day, usually followed up with a light nute application and a few days rest before another selective deleaf. To this end, I've reduced workload during trimming and have had less popcorn buds. On a side note, resin production is a defence mechanism of the plant to discourage browsing by pests. When the right amount of leaves are removed, the plant will respond with an increase in resin to counteract the browsing.. I don't know of any science study's that have been done in this area, but my trials have shown a noticable difference.. Cheers

###12/1 update#### PH 5.9 PPM 1200 CO2 500 Temp 72F cycle time 4mins-off/11seconds-on Light cycle: 12on/12off Good 2-weeks; missed one week due to holidays so its a 2 week jump. Buds / colas are looking great. Just had one that stretched a bit too far and smacked into the LED and got a bit crunchy. Water filter failed and blocked all sprayers; luckily caught it same day and no issues seen on plants. Need to invest into a alarm / notification sensor for next grow. Aeroponics has a very narrow range for failure. Front right plant is the ak47 re-grow from first harvest. So far its looking at same yield as the clone-grow behind it. Will be interesting to test the overall yield and strength on re-grow vs clone.

###12/14 update#### PH 5.7 PPM 1300 CO2 500 Temp 72F cycle time 4mins-off/11seconds-on Light cycle: 12on/12off Traveling for work; so another 2 week jump Overall growth looks great; no real issues. Nutrient levels seemed to jump up a bit from 1000 to 1300; might cut back to 800ppm to see if it levels out a bit. Couple snaps of the clone tent; using a ultrasonic mister and a low ppm solution (200-300ppm). Interesting hair like root growth.

Last Week! Just doing a flush at this point, nutrients at a very low 200ppm, will do a 24 hour dark cycle and then harvest midweek. No real issues; some browning and dying of water leaves which is fairly normal at this point of harvest.

Grown this strain twice now; fairly simple and no real issues from seedling to vegetative to flowering averaging a 10-11 week cycle using aeroponics. The only issue is keeping it healthy looking at final days; seems to change on nute needs significantly on last couple weeks. Still don't have it dialed in correctly. At 24-36 inches; yield per plant seems to be 2 ounce to 3.0 ounce dried bud on some cheapo supposedly 1000-2000watt LEDs Stats below are for the AK47; i'll add results for green crack later this week (still drying)

Great strain for noob growers like myself, all consumers were very happy with THC content and the effects. Harvest was fairly easy and the overall grow was not too challenging. The only issues i had was infestation of white flies a couple times (some neem oil finally wiped them out).

Overall fairly simple grow; no issues or problems. Did notice the roots attacked each-other a bit; next grow will be moving into separate buckets. The yield on the shorter root was about 1/2 of the other 2.

Thanks @dwchc and @Cannibalgardens Harvest in next 48-72 hours pending time with holiday; i'll update the journal with results. I did 2 experiments for this grow that support both comments. Keeping a consistent canopy seems key for yields, i'll go little more "cutty" with reducing canopy towards middle of bloom to increase light on next grow and run a control with no canopy cutting as a test. 1. the green crack on right side - 1 plant no trimming, 1 plant moderate, 1 plant heavy trimming throughout grow to keep a solid canopy. I'll weigh out results, but so far the the heavy trim is showing the largest colas. 2. The left side is the ak47 - it has 1 clone growing in back and 1 re-grow on same plant that was harvested on my first grow in front. Curious to see the yields and strength on re-grow. One thing I did notice was the nutrients starting spiking on return res; 800 on feed / 1200 in return. Even when i dropped to 200 for flush, the return was still showing 600-700ppm. Interesting; not sure on the "why" or what nutrient is coming back at such a high level.

@CRiSPrGrow, Thanks! Will add more info on setup for week 2. Using a mistking repeat cycle timer; the 7s-on/5m-off is the spray cycle for the aero nozzles. The aim at top of rootzone and spray a 50 micron mist.
the end.
