Black Widow

So starting this diary well into week 6.... Sprouted Sept 3/19 well and good, using i49 seeds. A rough start for these girls as I was working on the road - and actually brought them with me. Essentially window sill light for this first week until I got something proper setup at the Casa Escondido (which I did and it is beautiful for an amateur like me lol). No nutrients given at this seedling stage.

Still an extremely poor environment for the seedlings. The sprouts have widow sill light only, but are hanging in there.

OK! Finally got a setup much better for the seedlings. The grow light is a 600W LED, Amazon special and not one of the nice MARS units...etc. Put some weak nutes into the system, plants are looking healthy, an excellent green on them.

Things going very well indeed!! Plants remain healthy with no signs of deficiencies. The vegetation is vigorous and active!! Pulled the stalk over for some LST exposure - which is a first for me (this is only my third round of amateur growing lol). Topped off the fourth node.

These girls were upgraded to 8" pots and top dressed very lightly with some dolomite, 4-4-4 and guano. I'm a very new grower but have noted on my last two rounds that my PK were often low (from the leaves) and that soil health just wasn't ideal. Trying to get ahead and create a stable substrate.

The grow on the Black Widow continues to be awesome! I feel good about where the canopy will go as it rises and how healthy post top they are. Am going to start to up the nutes a bit more over the coming weeks. Im not fully up to speed on PPMs but I am monitoring both pH and PPM....also unclear on the conductivity tracking many people do.

A big change just yesterday - I've moved my ladies off to their 5 gal fabric pots. These pots are new to me but seem to be the thing. I'm trying to pay more attention to aeration of my medium and the saturation levels, so we shall see if this helps! They continue to look very nice showing no signs of deficiencies. I will push them a touch harder going forward due to their size and no lack of appetite :) Ive done some LST on all of them (Including the Do Si Dos you may see hiding in there...) and the canopy is generally even across them when all cinched down.

A big week for these ladies. I've moved them into the actual grow tent, instead of the area Im using for veg as getting pinched on space. Had to shuffle a few things about and voila. The tent will be shared by a few ladies other than these so Im interested to see how the space develops. I think I've got enough ventilation/hvac for the winter months here in Canada but it is a worry. Cheers to everybody!

The ladies seem to be happy so far... Im continuing to adjust the LST points as well as some light defoliation. Im finding the plant is bushing up nicely and want to stay ahead of that a bit with light pruning. The canopy continues to be satisfactory I think. These plants will be shorter than their neighbors however and Im interested to see how that will affect them. Im just learning an absolute ton with this grow, this is the third try for me. Im enjoying experimenting really.....tomato cages vs stakes....fabric pots over hardshell....etc. Im also currently unemployed so taking great joy in it hahahaha. Respect and love my peeps!

Removed the tomato cages as a failed experiment. Just wasn't feeling them. All things continue to be green. I need to again bump mu nutes I think to the 650PPM mark I think. I have done some opening up via LST on all girls, should be super cool result. Three of them (black widows) should have two primary colas through the cleared out middle with a flat tabletop of tops on the low.... They look great.

Lots happening yet again :) I did my first supercrops ever and they worked out awesome I think. The plants are very bushy and Im struggling to decide how much is too much defoliation - I did a heavy one a few days back and it came back hard again. I think will wait a week then do a hard pre-flower defoliate, then a week to recover and flush a bit, then flower. Hmmm. I think so yeah.

Didnt record much for this week as lots going on. I did do a heavy trim though...flipping next week so I also did a flush, and then added a split mix of veg/flower nutes with some calmag. As I am writing this a week on, I can say they exploded in growth. Sweet, but am running out of room.

OK! So these ladies are now enroute to flower....Ive actually already noted a few pistil spottings which seems quick (4 days). Girls are looking very healthy. I have not been able to find a good nute dose yet and will increase a touch. No signs of nute burn at all.

It was a very good week and pistil/bud site development really blossomed! In fact I have found it tricky to determine how much leaf to remove as it reeeeeeeaaaallllllyyyy wants to be bushy - resulting in lots of covered sites. So working that, otherwise was happy with things.

Another decent week. During a feed I realized the PPM and pH of wastewater seriously out of whack (2400/8.1) so offered no nutes opting for a healthy watering pH'd at 6.2. They have responded very well!!

Wow! Way behind on the diary!! The ladies have been cruising along. Pics to follow....

Standard week. Struggling to keep up with defoilation (and posting lol)

Hey plants are very healthy and finally putting on some bud mass. I think they hit a bit high on the nutrients and froze up a bit (?), going good now!! Really frosting out and I expect that to continue. I suspect about three weeks to go and performed a heavy flush taking the waste PPM down to 500ish. Potentially to give low dose nutes next round before straight water. Smell off the bud is extremely sweet with sugary notes vs sour. Smells like damn candy is what is smells like.

HAHA! Finally catching up on posting, sorry for wait. These girls are looking ripe. End of this week saw them plunged into darkness for a couple days and moved to the basement of doom for drying!! So pumped!

I really appreciated these plants through their grow cycle. Wonderful aroma started early into the flower. I think good genetics but my learning curve restricted final volumes, but I cant say Im unhappy either. Very sticky sticky buds. I recommend. Small buds, but many of them!
