Here is where it gets interesting, she started to flower outdoor just as the season began. I called gh seeds thinking I may have got auto by mistake, but they were sure this was not the case. They explained that I had planted it too early, and the plant was not getting more than 12 hours of light from sunrise for the first few weeks, which encouraged them to flower. They recommended I wait it out and they may re veg. After a lot of reading I decided to experiment with “force flowering”. I made a large cardboard box and began to bring it inside and cover her up each evening before 12 hours of light.
After committing to flower her, I read a lot more and decided on trying to keep everything organic so I got some canna bio boost, coupled with a basic kelp based fertiliser. A minor setback when a palm frond fell and shaved a couple of branches off her which will hurt my yield, but she recovered really well.
I gave her a pretty big haircut, and tied down each branch to open it up a bit. She is really stacking up now, and smells sooo good. That canna boost is lovely, you can easily give her a bit more than the directions say.
The Kalashnikova’s buds are really stacking up nicely now and smelling really lovely, she is a real pleasure to grow. Continuing to cover up each night, a few minutes earlier each week. I have cut all the fan leaves now, so not sure if she may slow down for a bit, but she looks mint.
I love this plant so much. It seems so tough and resilient. It always looks healthy and smells unbelievable,,sometimes I just feel like taking a big bite out of it. After 5 weeks of flowering red hairs are coming through already so it can’t be far away from ready. I think it may be a shorter flowering period because of the force flowering, the days are getting warmer and the buds are exposed to rich sunlight most of the day.
Kal is not changing much in size, to my eye. It does appear that the buds are a bit fatter and heavier, I notice when I move it in the back yard, that the branches really wobble around with the weight of the nuggets. There is plenty of red hairs now so I’m gonna seal the deal in the next day or so. Such a cool strain, and I will learn from my early mistakes next time to ensure a much bigger finished product.
Given that I planted to early in the season and the plant flowered early, the Kalashnikova really adapted well to the force flowering by light deprivation. To get such a nice yield outside, with purely organic nutrients in only 11 weeks from seed is really impressive. This is a hardy strain for outdoor and a credit to Green House. I recommend this strain to anyone growing outdoors in a sub tropical environment
I have really enjoyed growing this strain. I made an error by planting early, but the plant adapted. I had setbacks with damaged branches and probably got too savage on the defoliation, but this strain seems so hardy it kept charging on. Green house were great to deal with and I will definitely grow their products again. A very positive experience all around!👍

Hey, if you wanted some additional notes, you might want to check out using like a tea/amending soil with fruits that produce a lot of erythritol. It'll likely influence flowering. Though it's a bit unclear in what way.

Yep, I had roughly the same results with some other, technically, commercial seeds (got sent some seeds by HSO). About the same time (end of winter/start spring, a bit before you planted yours), same hemisphere. However, my non-commercial local unknown/wild/offspring seeds planted at the same time have been growing much better (in terms of not flowering instantly). Also, I think a lack of rain and very carboniferous soil (can produce somewhat excessive ethylene which boosts and possibly helps trigger flowering) contributed to that. I suspect that, coz luckily, I had soil variation with one of those and the one in less carbon-rich soil compared to others in carbon-rich soil is definitely growing for longer.

Glad to somewhat confirm that though. Also, I had a bunch of plants planted around start of winter here in the southern hemisphere, a lot of them still fowering (or would be if I didn't harvest some of them completely) so I'm pretty sure it's not just lighting.

Hi there. I had the problem of my plant flowering outside very early as you can see in my diary. I contacted greenhouse thinking I may have got auto by mistake but they are positive I did not. They believe I planted too early in the season as my plant was 4 weeks old before the time between sunrise and sunset extended to 12 hours. I accepted this because I also had a Jack Herer planted at the same time which was not flowering. Now 4 weeks later the jack has begun to flower! Do you recommend leaving and hoping it goes back to Veg? Or should I begin feeding bloom nutrients and assume it will finish out. Thank you. Shooey,, 👍
